"Yah unnie stop trying to work. Your arm is broken, you should let it heal. Don't push yourself." Tzuyu told her older sister. The two are working in Y/N's office along with Dahyun.
"I'm fine Tzuyu-yah."
"Is that why you look like you're in pain? Just use your right arm and let the left one rest." Tzuyu scolded her. "Aish, I should call Jihyo unnie and tell her that you're not resting. She'll scold you way harder than I do."
"Please don't." Y/N begged. Since Jihyo is a nurse she's been checking up on Y/N all the time since the car accident to see if she's okay. "I'm wearing the sling, what else can I do?"
"Rest, unnie. Rest. Dahyun unnie and I can handle it."
"Yeah, Tzuyu is doing pretty well." Dahyun agreed. Y/N was about to say something again but stopped when something on the tv drew her attention. Tzuyu and Dahyun realized that Y/N was looking at the tv, so Dahyun turned up the volume.
Breaking news: It is revealed that Im Nayeon is not the largest shareholder of ImTech. Turns out that Mr. Im's shares do not belong to his daughter but to Im Nayeon's boyfriend, Park Jinyoung instead. The company held a shareholders meeting today and it is said that Park Jinyoung nominated himself as the new CEO of ImTech. There will be another meeting tomorrow where the shareholders will vote on wether or not the CEO will change. The reason on why they want to change the CEO is unknown. Later today Park Jinyoung also announced that he and Im Nayeon are no longer a couple.
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows upon hearing the announcement. Jinyoung has more shares than Nayeon? Mr. Im gave his shares to Jinyoung? He actually wants to become the CEO? I mean Y/N was expecting something to happen but she didn't expect for Jinyoung to become the new CEO. Mr. Im really trusts Jinyoung more than his own daughter?
"This is what Dahyun unnie wanted to tell you the other day. Nayeon never had her father's shares. He gave it to Jinyoung instead." Tzuyu informed.
"She only has my shares?" Dahyun and Tzuyu are a bit taken aback by the fact that Y/N actually listened to the announcement and asked a question about it. Normally she ignores everything about ImTech and Nayeon.
"Yes." Dahyun answered.
"Do you know anything else? Why does he want to be the CEO?"
"Apparently he's been convincing the shareholders to vote for him for like three months now. All of them were aware that this was going to happen. Nayeon is the only one that's clueless about everything." Dahyun explained. Dahyun never stopped gathering information about ImTech and Y/N is well aware of that.
"Does Nayeon stand a chance?" Y/N asked in a bit of worry. She knows how Nayeon is feeling right now. Her ex-girlfriend got betrayed once again. Nayeon must be sick and tired of being treated like this. Y/N knows how much Nayeon wanted to be the CEO, but now she's at the point of losing everything. Y/N is starting to feel bad for not having done anything but Nayeon did this to herself. She should have believed Y/N.
"Not at all. The Im family has a very bad reputation right now and none of the shareholders want Nayeon to be the CEO. Jinyoung's chances of becoming the CEO are very high."
"What will happen to her afterwards?" Tzuyu can't help but be curious.
"I'm not sure about that." Dahyun didn't look into it that far because she didn't think that Y/N would care.
"Even if she steps down as the CEO, she still has her shares but knowing Mr. Im and Jinyoung, they're probably not going to let her go with those shares. I'm pretty sure they'll leave her with nothing." Y/N guessed. Y/N has never been wrong with her guesses, so it'll most likely come true.
"Ah, I feel kinda bad for her. She keeps getting betrayed by everyone around her." Tzuyu might hate Nayeon for what she did to her sister but she also feels bad for the girl knowing what she's going through.
"Should we take a break? We've been working for hours, I'm sure you two are hungry." Y/N changed the subject. "Go ahead and eat something."
"Won't you come along?" Tzuyu asked.
"No, I'm not hungry. You two go." The CEO smiled weakly to which the two girls nodded and left. Y/N's mind is quite occupied with Nayeon right now. Should she do something about this? But what can she even do? The voting is already tomorrow, there's no way anyone can change the outcome, not even Y/N. She kind of wishes that she had let Dahyun talk the other day, then she would have known this beforehand and maybe she could have done something about this. Then again this is Nayeon's fault for not believing her, but Y/N can't blame her. It's normal that Nayeon didn't believe her at that point. Y/N had lied to her a lot in the beginning, so it's only normal for Nayeon to not have believed her.
-------------------------------------
The next day came by quickly meaning that the vote will be held today. Nayeon has been trying her best to contact the shareholders and convince them to vote for her. However she feels like they won't. It seems like they all really like Jinyoung and think that he's the best possible CEO for the company. Nayeon is screwed and she's very well aware of that.
"What else can I do, Momo-yah? He's going to win for sure. Should I just give up?" Nayeon sighed. It's all happening so fast that she didn't even have time to think all of this through.
"Maybe you should talk to Chou Y/N? I mean she's the only one that can go against them." Momo reminded.
"I can't. Not after what I did to her besides she had warned me. She told me that this would happen but I didn't believe her. I'm just so embarrassed to face her right now."
"I don't think you have another choice, Ms. Im."
"It's too late Momo-yah. The meeting is already in a few hours. No one can change the outcome in such little time. I should just accept the result." Nayeon shook her head.
"You know Y/N better than I do. You know better than anyone else what she's capable of. Don't you think she could change the outcome?"
"You're right, she could." Y/N never fails and always comes up with a plan no matter what the time limit is. So yes Nayeon knows that Y/N can change it, but she can't ask Y/N to do that. Not after what Nayeon put her through.
"It just won't work. I give up."
"Ms. Im this isn't like you at all. I mean normally you would fight to keep your position. What's holding you back now?" Nayeon got pretty taken aback by this question. Momo is right, Nayeon isn't the type to give up so easily yet here she is giving up and not putting up a fight against Jinyoung.
"I don't know. I think I'm just tired of all of this. I'm tired of this industry and everything that comes along with it. My dad was right, I wasn't made to be in this industry." Nayeon saddened just thinking about it. Many people have told her that she's just too good of a person to be able to do well in this industry and they were right.
"What's going to happen afterwards? I mean what are your plans?"
"I don't even know. I literally just found out yesterday that I'm not the largest shareholder and today there's already another vote on who will be the CEO." if Nayeon loses her position, she'll only be left with her shares. Knowing Jinyoung and her father, they'll definitely take those shares away from her which will leave her with nothing.
"I cant' believe I fell into their trap again. Am I that stupid?" Nayeon questioned. She literally tried to change and become a bitch that doesn't care about anyone and anything. She knew that being naive is her weak spot and she tried working on it but seems like she failed.
A few hours passed and the meeting is just in ten minutes. Nayeon is very nervous even though she knows the outcome. She's just hoping for a miracle to happen but it didn't. Just like she had predicted the majority voted for Jinyoung making him the new CEO of ImTech and Nayeon the former CEO. She can't believe that she lost her position to him in just four months.
Nayeon perfectly knows that if it wasn't for Y/N, she never would have been the CEO in the first place. Y/N is the one that made her the CEO and Nayeon never even thanked her for that. This position was basically a gift from Y/N, yet Nayeon failed to hold on to it. She lost the one thing that Y/N gave her. She should have known that she wouldn't be able to survive without Y/N, but she didn't. She thought that she'd do fine, she thought that she would be able to do better than anyone would think she would, but no she failed tremendously. She's just one big failure.
"I believe you should start packing." Jinyoung came into her office. Now that he's the CEO, he'll move into Nayeon's office. As for Nayeon she didn't get fired but got offered to take the position of the sales manager. Nayeon didn't agree nor disagree, she needs time to think about it.
"Can't you see that I'm already doing it?" Nayeon asked harshly.
"Awtch, no need to be harsh. You're such a sore loser."
"You can't call me a loser when you played it dirty, Jinyoung. I wasn't even aware of anything until yesterday. Are you really a winner when your opponent didn't even know that you were playing a game?"
"Well, a good opponent should know that there's a game being played, Nayeon-ah. You're just a very bad opponent." He laughed.
"Then why did it take you four months to take my position?"
"I needed Chou Y/N to be completely out of sight. Besides convincing the shareholders to vote for me took some time. You should be happy with your new position as the sales manager. It suits you way better than the CEO." He winked and left the office which made Nayeon burst out in anger. She hates the guy with everything that she has in her. She can't believe that she even liked him when they were teenagers. He's absolutely an asshole and Nayeon would kill him if she could.
Nayeon gathered all her stuff and decided to go home. She can't stay here any longer knowing that they all went against her. The moment she stepped outside she got surrounded by a lot of reporters that kept asking her questions. She just ignored them and walked towards her car. What can she even tell them? She embarrassed herself in front of the whole country.
"Oh, Nayeon-ah, you're home. I heard the news, I'm so sorry." Her mother approached her when she came home.
"It's all over the news isn't it?" Nayeon guessed and Mrs. Im nodded. However something about Mrs. Im looks different. It's like she knew this was going to happen.
"You knew about this didn't you?" Nayeon asked and by the look of guilt on her mother's face Nayeon already knows the answer. "You knew they were planning this and you didn't tell me? Why?"
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't."
"You couldn't?? You couldn't??" Nayeon yelled. Out of all people she never would have thought for her mother to betray her. "You're my mother, how couldn't you tell me something like this? How could you watch them take down your own daughter? How?"
"I had no choice, Nayeon-ah." The woman looked down.
"No choice? That's what you always say! You did have a choice mom, you could have told me. You keep using the same excuse for everything. You used it for not protecting me when I got abused, you used it when dad threw me out. You use it for everything!" Nayeon's starting to tear up.
"Why can't you treat me like your daughter? What did I do for you to hate me? Please tell me."
"You didn't do anything, Nayeon-ah. Please don't blame yourself. I don't hate you at all." The woman tried to approach her but Nayeon stepped a few steps behind indicating that she doesn't want Mrs. Im to come closer.
"Then why did you do this?"
"You know I'm scared of him." She admitted.
"So what if you're scared of him? Can't you see what you being scared of him brought us to? I got abused my entire life because you were scared. He went behind your back and had a whole ass affair because you were scared. I get that you can't stand up for yourself, but can't you do it for your daughter either? I wouldn't have snitched you if you had warned me about this." Nayeon finally allowed herself to cry. Why is her life so miserable? When is she going to start to have a normal life?
"I'm so sorry." The woman cried hard.
"Sorry won't fix all the traumas I got from it. I'll pack my stuff and leave. I don't want to stay with you anymore." At this point Nayeon doesn't want to have any ties to her family. Her mother was the only person that she trusted, but now she sees that she can't trust her either. The woman literally knew that they were going to do this to Nayeon, yet she didn't even bother to warn her daughter.
"W-what? Nayeon-ah, don't leave please. You don't even have a place to go." Mrs. Im pleaded.
"I'll find something, don't worry." Nayeon said in a harsh tone and went to her room to pack her stuff. Mrs. Im sat on the couch and continued to cry. She really wanted to tell Nayeon, but she was too scared. It's always been like that. She's a real coward. She badly wants to stop Nayeon from leaving but she won't because she knows it's best for Nayeon to leave. She couldn't escape from this hell but her daughter should.
--------------------------------
"Yah unnie, why am I not seeing any improvement?"Jihyo came to Y/N's house to see how her arm's doing but it seems like there's no improvement at all.
"How should I know? You're the nurse here."Â Y/N joked.
"Unnie this is serious. If you don't take care of your arm it might worsen. Have you been wearing the sling all the time?"
"Yeah, I did. I didn't take it off like you told me to."
"Then why is there no improvement?" Jihyo knows something else might be behind this.
"Because she keeps forcing herself to work even though she's obviously in pain." Chaeyoung and Tzuyu joined.
"Didn't I tell you to rest? Please just don't do anything that requires a lot of energy. You're still not healed from the accident and you won't heal anytime soon if you keep doing this." Jihyo informed to which Y/N nodded. She knows her half-sister is right. Her body is not the type to give up but ever since the accident happened, Y/N noticed that she can't work as long as she did before.
"Did you guys hear the news? About ImTech?" Chaeyoung asked a bit scared since she knows how Y/N will immediately cut her off.
"The meeting was today right? What happened?" Jihyo asked.
"Jinyoung became the CEO." Tzuyu informed and Y/N doesn't know why but she suddenly felt like a huge weight was dropped onto her shoulders.
"She got what she deserved." Chaeyoung laughed to which Tzuyu joined.
"Stop. This isn't funny." Y/N interrupted. The two girls immediately stopped laughing since Y/N looks pretty scary when she's serious.
"Aren't you happy, unnie? This is what she gets for falsely accusing you."
"I'm not happy about this. Do you think I would be happy that this is happening to someone I care about?"Â Y/N didn't even notice that she just admitted out loud that she still cares for her ex-girlfriend but the other three did.
"You still care about her?" Jihyo asked and that's when Y/N realized that it slipped her mouth.
"I do. I know I shouldn't, but I still do."Â Y/N feels like she's stupid for caring about Nayeon but then again she just can't stop doing it. Nayeon will always have a special place in her heart no matter what.
"It's okay, unnie. It's normal, don't be bothered by it. She was your first love. You two went through a lot together. Anyone in your place would still care about her." Jihyo comforted her.
"But if you still care about her, why didn't you stop this?" Chaeyoung asked.
"Because it was what we agreed on. We both agreed that we would leave each other alone. She explicitly asked me to stop protecting her and that's what I did." That's also the reason why Y/N didn't want to hear anything about ImTech because she knew that once she found out something that could hurt Nayeon, she'd protect her no matter what.
"Well, she's really going to wish that she didn't ask you that right now." Tzuyu shook her head.
"Did you guys hear something else? I mean what's going to happen to her?"Â Y/N asked. She doesn't want to be curious about this yet she is. She wants to know what her ex-girlfriend is going through right now.
"I heard that they offered her a position as a sales manager but she hasn't accepted it yet. Apparently she wants to take a small break from all of this." Chaeyoung informed. She's just saying what she heard on the news.
"I should go now. You guys keep hanging out."Â Y/N suddenly stood up ending the conversation.
"Where are you going?" Jihyo wondered.
"Sana is coming, she said that she wants to see me." The CEO informed to which the three nodded. Y/N left them to go to her own room and about ten minutes later Sana came.
"Y/N-ie? Are you okay? How's your arm?" Sana asked walking in the room.
"It's fine. It hurts a little bit but I can manage."Â Y/N smiled and Sana sat down next to her.
"You keep worrying the shit out of me, do you know that?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you worry."
"It's not even your fault, it's the one who hit you with the car." Sana just gets mad remembering the accident.
"It was just an accident. The guy didn't even see me."
"It was not an accident, Y/N. Someone did this to you. On purpose." Sana stated which made Y/N confused.
"What do you mean? Who would do this to me?"
"Park Jinyoung. I knew something was fishy about the accident, so I started to dig in. He did this to you, Y/N." Sana held Y/N's arm.
"I know."Â Y/N sighed.
"W-what? You know?" Of course Y/N knows. There's not a thing that the woman doesn't know. She knew the moment that she was hit that someone did this on purpose. She didn't know it was Jinyoung until the day after though.
"Yeah, I do. It wasn't that hard to figure out."
"Then why aren't you doing anything? Why didn't you say anything?"
"Because it won't happen again. I'm pretty sure this doesn't even have to do anything with me. He did this to prove someone else a point and now that he's the CEO and got what he wanted, I'm pretty sure that he won't bother me anymore. But if I say something now, this bad blood between us will continue and you know very well that I don't want to get involved with that asshole again."Â Y/N explained.
"But still Y/N, he could have hurt you badly." Sana looked worried as she caressed Y/N's cheek.
"But he didn't. He didn't mean to hurt me badly, like I said he just wanted to prove something."
"How are you so sure?"
"I just know. Why don't you trust me?"Â Y/N asked to which Sana sighed.
"I do trust you. I'm just worried, that's all." Sana looked down.
"Hey, don't be worried about me. I'm fine and nothing will happen to me."Â Y/N lifted Sana's chin up using her right hand since she can't use the left one.
"You better be right." Sana smiled and leaned in to kiss Y/N's lips. She kissed her slowly savouring each second of it. Sana can never get enough of Y/N. She's basically addicted to Y/N's lips and Y/N's touch, that's why she just can't stop doing this friends with benefits thing with her.
Sana locked her arms behind Y/N's neck and made herself comfortable by sitting on Y/N's lap. She continued to kiss Y/N and wanted to heat it up by sliding her tongue into Y/N's mouth but something was feeling off. Y/N is barely reacting at all.
"Something wrong?" Sana pulled away. Y/N has never been like this before. She always reacts and goes along with it, but now that's not the case. "Am I hurting you? Does your arm hurt?" Maybe it's because she's hurting physically?
"No, no. Not at all."Â Y/N denied.
"You know what's fucked up about you having a broken arm?" Sana asked to which Y/N shook her head. "You can't touch me as much as I'd like you to." Sana said seductively which made Y/N smile weakly.
"Well, I still have my other hand." Y/N chuckled as she sneaked her hand around Sana's waist and Sana couldn't help but pull Y/N back in for a kiss again. She's trying her best to heat things up but once again Y/N's mind seems to be somewhere else. Y/N is barely reacting and it seems like she's not enjoying this at all, which is definitely a first.
"Okay, what the fuck is going on?" Sana stopped trying after a few minutes. It's like she's kissing a wall right now. "If you want me to leave, just tell me."
"No, why would I want you to leave?"
"Y/N you're barely kissing me back. I'm doing all the work here. It seems like I'm forcing you." Sana is growing a bit annoyed. Why is Y/N suddenly acting like this?
"You're not forcing me at all, you know that."
"Then why does it feel like I am? What is this even about? I know you're not hurt, even if you were hurt you still would be kissing me right now. Is this about Nayeon again?" Sana can already guess what's going on.
"I'm just tired."
"You heard the news about her and now your mind is occupied with her, isn't it?" Sana tried to guess.
"Does it even matter, Sana? Why are you getting mad?"
"Because you're always like this!" Sana raised her voice which startled Y/N. "Whenever something happens to Nayeon you seem to forget about me. Why is she still on your mind after what she did to you? Why is she still on your mind when I'm right here in front of you?" Sana asked the last sentence weakly.
"Sana, what's going on? Why are you being like this? I'm just not in the mood right now, don't make a big deal out of it."
"You're obviously not seeing what's wrong here. You're the one that always decides on whatever the two of us do. When you're in the mood you want me, but when you're not in the mood, you don't and honestly I'm sick of it." Sana admitted.
"You walked into this knowing that I was going through a breakup. You walked into this knowing I still had feelings for Nayeon. Why are you blaming me now? I had warned you and you said that you were completely fine with just messing around."
"That was back then, Y/N. Did you really think that after four months things wouldn't change?" Y/N can already guess what's going on but she's really hoping that her guess is wrong.
"Do you have feelings for me?"Â Y/N asked. "Be honest with me, please."
Sana hesitated wether or not to tell the truth but in the end she figured that she just couldn't hide this anymore. "I do."
"Since when?"Â Y/N sighed internally. This shouldn't be happening right now.
"Since about two months ago." Sana did walk into this just for the sex however she never would have thought for her to gain feelings for Y/N, but she did and now she regrets doing this whole messing around thing.
"Why didn't you tell me? I thought we agreed on stopping this the moment feelings were involved."
"Because I didn't want to stop. I knew you were going to stop this the moment you found out." Sana looked down. She rather would have something with Y/N than nothing at all.
"I don't know what to say."
"You don't have to say anything. I know you don't like me that way. I know the feelings aren't mutual so spare me the rejection." Sana pleaded.
"Look I really do care about you and the last thing I want is to hurt you."Â Y/N was always hesitant about this relationship because she was scared that this situation might happen and in the end it did happen. She doesn't want to break another heart so she's trying her best to not hurt Sana, but is that even possible?
"I know, Y/N. I know you care about me and I know that you don't want to hurt me. That's why I can't even blame you. I walked into this myself. I didn't know this would happen. I'm so sorry."
"Hey, don't be sorry."Â Y/N caressed Sana's arm. "You didn't do anything wrong. But you do realize that we can't keep doing this right?"
"I do. It's best if we stop messing around for now but can we at least stay friends?"
"Of course we can. I don't want to lose you."Â Y/N hates the thought of losing Sana.
"I don't want to lose you either, Y/N-ie."
"I'm sorry I can't reciprocate your feelings."Â Y/N feels very bad right now. She's the type to notice everything so how couldn't she notice Sana's feelings for her?
"Do you still love Nayeon?" Sana asked out of the blue.
"I can't answer that because I don't even know it myself."
"You'll figure it out." Sana smiled weakly. At this point Y/N really wishes that she had fallen in love with Sana instead. Sana's family and her own family get along pretty well. There's no bad blood involved and the two wouldn't have a hard time to be with each other in public since they're both known to like the same sex. Why did Y/N have to go and fall in love with the daughter of her enemy? Why couldn't she just fall in love with someone that wouldn't turn her life into hell?
Sana might be a bitch to everyone else but she's really sweet and caring towards Y/N. She knows that Sana would be a perfect girlfriend, so she really wishes that she could reciprocate Sana's feelings but she can't.
------------------------------
A/N: This story is getting longer than I thought wahaha. I hope you're still enjoying it though. What do you think will happen next? Will Nayeon accept the sales manager offer or will she cut all ties with ImTech for good?
