Chapter 3: Chapter 3

The Cure // Im Nayeon x ReaderWords: 11071

"Nayeon-ah, did you miss me?" Nayeon's older brother asked as he side hugged his sister. He just came back from Busan.

"Aish, oppa, let me go." Nayeon pushed him away lightly.

"Jin, stop bothering your sister and come to the dining room, dinner is ready." Mrs. Im told him and the two followed their mother to the dining room.

"How is business going in Busan, Jin?" His father asked while they were eating.

"Great. Our stock prices have been rising a lot lately, did you see it?"

"Yes, I did. Nayeon-ah, did you bring the investors list?" Nayeon is done with looking for investors so her dad asked her to make a list with all the companies that are willing to invest in it.

"Ah yes, I have it here." Nayeon handed him the list. She already knew he was going to ask it so she came prepared.

"I see some big companies here, that's impressive." He nodded.

"Didn't you meet with Chou Holdings? I can't see them on the list." The man questioned.

"Oh, I did meet Chou Y/N but she rejected my offer." The man started to laugh upon hearing that.

"Are you serious?" He raised his eyebrows and Nayeon just nodded while Jin smirked. He knows what's about to come.

"Do you know what that means, Nayeon-ah?" He asked and the woman just shook her head.

"It means that this project is shit!" He yelled and threw the list on the table startling everyone.

"Chou Y/N knows what she's doing. All the projects that she has invested in until now have become successful and all the projects that she rejected failed. Aish, I knew I should've taken a look at it before I send you out to look for investors." The man is in big frustration. If Chou Y/N says that a project is going to fail, then it most probably will.

"You're harming our company with that poor project of yours!" The man yelled.

"Honey, please..." His wife tried to calm him down.

"You know what, Im Nayeon. You either convince Chou Y/N to invest in your project or this project won't be happening."

"B-but dad, I already have enough investors." Nayeon looked down.

"I don't care about them. As long as Chou Y/N isn't on this list, you have no place in ImTech." the man informed and everyone widened their eyes. Jin is liking this a lot.

"Can you excuse me please?" Nayeon asked. She can't be here right now.

"Go. You have a lot of work to do anyways, instead of going around doing nothing you should've gone to Chou Y/N with a good project, then you wouldn't have been rejected. You're humiliating our family, aish." He hit the table with his fist. This man surely has anger issues.

"Excuse me." Nayeon stood up bowing and left as fast as she could. She went to her room and out of frustration, she hit her desk. Is that man really serious? Why is this Chou Y/N so special anyways? Nayeon can't believe that her future depends on that jerk now.

"Can I come in?" Jin asked as he knocked on the door.

"Leave, oppa."

"Look at you, you look pathetic. You couldn't even convince Chou Y/N, huh? You know what this means right? This means that I'm one step ahead of you." Jin smirked.

"Shut up and get out of my room!" Nayeon yelled.

"As you wish sister. But just know, I'm winning." He smirked again and left the room. He loves provoking the shit out of Nayeon.

----------------------------

Nayeon has been thinking for two hours on what she should do. How is she going to convince Chou Y/N to become an investor? She has no choice right now, she needs to do whatever she can to convince that CEO. She'll beg if she has to.

"Where are you going? It's late." Her mother asked.

"To the company." She answered simply and made her way to her office.

"Momo, can you come to my office?" She called her assistant.

"Yes, I'll be right there." Momo answered and just like she said she was in Nayeon's office after two minutes.

"Yes, Ms. Im?"

"I want you to find some information on Chou Y/N. Just find out everything. Her past, her present, her family, friends. I want to know everything. And be quick please." She demanded.

"Okay, Ms. Im. I'll take care of that." Momo has been Nayeon's assistant for a few years now and she's doing a great job.

"Thank you, Momo." The assistant smiled and left the office to do what Ms. Im just told her to do. Hours have passed and Nayeon is still thinking about what to do and what to change about her project. It's already midnight so she decided to go to the cafeteria to get some coffee so that she doesn't fall asleep.

"Why are you still here? It's midnight." A voice said from behind her.

"I'm just getting coffee, Jeongyeon-ah."

"Are you working late again?" The woman sighed. Nayeon does this quite often.

"Yes. You probably heard about my project, right?"

"Yeah, I did. If you need any help please ask me." Jeongyeon caressed Nayeon's arm.

"You already have a lot of work to do as a manager, besides I should do this by myself." Nayeon smiled. Jeongyeon is one of the managers at ImTech. The two have been great friends ever since college. Nayeon is the reason why Jeongyeon got hired as a manager here, so Jeongyeon is very thankful for that.

"Don't overwork yourself okay?"

"Says the one that's also here at this time." Nayeon fired back.

"I was just about to leave and you should too." Jeongyeon suggested.

"I can't. I still have some work to do. You go Jeongyeon-ah, I'll be fine."

"If you say so." Jeongyeon smiled and left the scene.

----------------------------------

"Momo, we're going to Chou Holdings." Nayeon thought about what to do all night and all day and the only thing she can do is talk to Chou Y/N once again.

"Do you have an appointment, Nayeon-ssi?" The assistant questioned.

"No, I don't need one. Let's go." She needs to speak to Chou Y/N as soon as she can.

"Can I speak to Chou Y/N?"

"Ms. Chou is in a business meeting right now. You'll have to wait." The secretary told her.

"It's urgent, I need to speak to her now."

"Miss that's not possible." The secretary told her but Nayeon kept insisting. Luckily Y/N's assistant Dahyun saw what was happening and merged into the scene.

"Ms. Im?"

"Oh, you're Y/N's assistant right?"

"Yes. Like our secretary said Ms. Chou is in a meeting right now, how about you come back later?" Dahyun suggested.

"I have no time. When does her meeting end?"

"In about an hour." Dahyun answered.

"Okay, I'll wait." Dahyun wanted to protest but she knows that the great Im Nayeon won't listen to her anyways so she just gave up. After about an hour Nayeon saw Y/N on her way to the exit of the building so she ran after her.

"Y/N-ssi!"

"Im Nayeon?" Y/N raised her eyebrows when she turned around and saw Nayeon in front of her.

"C-can we talk?"

"I really need to go right now, it's pretty late. How about tomorrow?" It's already almost 9pm, she just wants to go home and rest.

"I know you have no plans right now, I asked your assistant." Nayeon informed.

"Okay, what can I help you with?" Y/N asked. She knows that the girl won't be leaving until they have talked.

"Let me treat you to dinner. I'm sure you didn't eat yet and shouldn't the daughters of the most powerful men in the country get to know each other a bit better?" Nayeon suggested. Y/N was hesitant and looked at her assistant but Dahyun didn't say anything.

"Sure, it would be a shame to reject Im Nayeon's offer." Y/N gave in.

"Dahyun-ah, you can go home for today." Y/N smiled and the assistant left. Y/N followed Nayeon into her car and with that they went to a restaurant.

"You've never been here?" Nayeon noticed how Y/N kept looking around the restaurant.

"Oh no, it's my first time." Nayeon found that pretty weird. All the rich people know this restaurant. How come Y/N doesn't know it?

"Since it's my treat, we should also drink a bit right?" Nayeon said.

"Sure." Y/N just gave in and luckily their food and drinks came pretty fast. Y/N is feeling pretty uncomfortable though.

"I know there's a reason why you waited for me. Care to share?" Y/N asked while Nayeon poured wine in both of their glasses.

"I came here to ask you to reconsider my project. I know you already said no but you didn't even look into it for that long."

"I looked into it after you left that day." Y/N informed.

"Oh you did?" Nayeon didn't expect this.

"Yes. But my answer is still the same." Y/N said as she drank from her wine.

"I don't get it. You're the only investor that keeps rejecting."

"Have you thought about why those investors accepted the offer?" Y/N asked and Nayeon couldn't really answer that question.

"I'm sure those investors didn't even look at all the files you gave them. They're just trusting you because you're the daughter of the CEO of a big company after all. ImTech is so successful that those investors are investing blindly in your project. They're trusting your name, your success and your dad, not you or those numbers." Y/N shook her head and Nayeon is getting frustrated again. She actually never thought about this but now that Y/N mentions it she suddenly remembers how most investors indeed didn't look into it that well.

"Why aren't you like them then?" Nayeon took a sip of her wine.

"I don't trust names, success or people. I only trust myself, that's why." Y/N answered. Nayeon can already guess that Y/N isn't someone that trusts people easily. That must be her way to success.

"Look, I really need you to invest in this. What do I need to do to make you agree?" Nayeon really hates doing this, it hurts her pride, but she has no other choice.

"I don't know why you're being so persistent on me to invest in this but I'm sure there's a reason that you probably won't tell me." Y/N smiled weakly. Nayeon knows that the girl in front of her is extremely smart and it's a bit intimidating for her.

"I'll reconsider it if you adjust the project. Not the idea itself but everything else. I think you should start all over again. There are ways that this project can be successful, just not the way you intent."

"How can I do that? I have no time to start all over." Nayeon worried. She can't take too long to do this project or else Jin might take everything over.

"That's something you should know, Nayeon-ssi. But now if you excuse me, I really need to go. My family is waiting for me. Thank you for the dinner by the way. I really appreciate it and I hope we can do this again." Y/N stood up smiling. Nayeon really wants to hate her right now, but she just can't. The woman in front of her is just too polite.

"Yeah, no problem." Nayeon gave her a fake smile. Being a rich girl you learn how to fake your attitude.

"Goodbye, Nayeon-ssi." As soon as Y/N left, Nayeon sighed in frustration.

"Fuck!" She yelled and luckily there aren't many people in the restaurant. Sana and Mina weren't lying when they said that Y/N is going to demand a lot of her time and energy just to make her agree on this.

"I'll make you invest in this no matter what, Chou Y/N. Just wait for it." Nayeon smirked to herself. She can't let Jin win after all her hard work. She needs to show her dad, that she can be a capable CEO and that she isn't a humiliation to their family.
