A few days have passed since the party and Nayeon has found a lot of investors that want to invest in her new project. However there's one person that she still needs to meet with and that's Chou Y/N. She grabbed the business card that Y/N gave her and called her.
"Hello, you're speaking to Chou Y/N."
"Oh hi, Y/N-ssi. It's Im Nayeon. We met at the party the other day." Nayeon said.
"Oh yes, I remember. How have you been Nayeon-ssi?"
"I've been doing great how about you?" Nayeon asked politely.
"I'm doing good, thank you for asking."
"I'm calling you to ask if we could meet up. I already told you that night that I'm leading a new project so I wanted to meet with you as a possible investor. When do you have time?"
"Could you actually come by today? I'm free right now." Y/N asked.
"Oh yeah, of course. I'll be there in about an hour." Nayeon smiled to herself. It went easier than she thought it would go.
"Great, see you later Ms. Im." Y/N bid her goodbyes and with that the two hung up.
"Momo-yah!" Nayeon yelled to her assistant.
"Yes, Ms. Im?"
"Tell Mr. Lee to prepare the car. We're going to Chou Holdings." Nayeon said.
"Chou Holdings?" Momo raised her eyebrows.
"Yes, I arranged a meeting with Chou Y/N."
"Waah, daebak." The assistant exclaimed and the two left the office and made their way to Chou Holdings. When she entered the company all eyes were on her. Chou Y/N might be popular but so is Im Nayeon. Nayeon isn't the CEO yet but she sure is known as the daughter of one of the most powerful men in the country.
"Ms. Chou, Im Nayeon is here." Dahyun, Y/N's assistant told her.
"Ah yes, let her in Dahyun-ah."
"Nice to see you again, Nayeon-ssi. Please have a seat." Y/N stood up and gestured to the seat in front of her. Nayeon is used to all this smiling and politeness. Rich people always act like they're nice and polite when they're actually not. It's all an act but Y/N's smile and politeness actually seems to be sincere.
"Thank you for meeting up with me."
"No problem. So tell me about the project." Y/N raised her eyebrows.
"Ah yes, let me hand you all the important files first." Nayeon took out some files from her bag and put it in front of Y/N and the CEO immediately started looking at them.
"As you can see the plan is to buy out an area that is located behind the ImTech company and put it into reconstruction. There was a recent fire there and some people died, that's why the prices of the apartments there have dropped insanely. We will buy all those apartments and break them off to start building a new shopping mall with the newest technology provided by ImTech." Nayeon started explaining.
"Here you can see all the expenses and incomes that will come from it. As you can see the incomes will be about 5 times larger, meaning that there is going to be a lot of profit." The girl handed the CEO some other files with all the numbers on it and Y/N looked at them very carefully.
"What will you do with the people that live in that area? I'm guessing most of those apartments are occupied. If you're planning to break it all off, those people will have to look for a new living place." Y/N asked while she didn't look up from the papers.
"All the people that live there will be relocated to another area." Nayeon answered and Y/N sighed lightly. The CEO really has a pokerface so Nayeon doesn't know what she's thinking. There was a silence for about 2 minutes because Y/N just kept going through all the files.
"I like the idea of building a new mall. If I look at the plan then I can see that it will be build with new technology which can be high in value. I think the area is also interesting, it's located close to ImTech and some other big companies." Y/N shared her thoughts.
"Does that mean you will invest?"
"How much do you want me to invest?" The CEO questioned looking at the woman.
"5 billion won." Nayeon answered and Y/N chuckled causing Nayeon to glare at her.
"I'm afraid that I won't be able to invest in this project. I'm sorry." Y/N shook her head.
"W-what? Why?" Nayeon stuttered. She's been to around 20 investors right now and they all agreed. This is the first time she's getting rejected.
"Like I said the idea itself is good, it's pretty interesting but..." Y/N emphasized the word but.
"But?" Nayeon repeated Y/N.
"These numbers are just not realistic. The description of how the project is going to be executed is done poorly, there's a lot of information missing. By executing it like this there won't be any profit. There will only be loss. If I invest 5 billion won in this, then I'll probably lose half of it. Your expenses will be higher than your incomes if you execute it this way. Besides it won't be easy to convince all the people who live there to move out. There are definitely going to be people who are going to be against this, so you're probably going to have to pay them to convince them, which is another expense." Y/N explained.
"So you're not investing?" Nayeon raised her eyebrows.
"No, I'm sorry. It's too much of a risk that I can't take."
"I've seen a lot of investors before you and no one told me something like this." Nayeon is actually pretty annoyed. She's confident that this project will make a lot of profit in the future so why is Y/N talking like this?
"That's possible. I'm sure they all agreed with it, right? You look like you got rejected for the first time." Nayeon looks dumbfounded.
"Yes. They all agreed." Nayeon sighed. They all agreed so who is Y/N to tell her that this project is going to fail?
"Then you don't need me as an investor. I'm sure you already have enough money from all the other investors." Y/N said. Yes, she has enough investors for this project to go through but Nayeon needs Y/N as an investor so that she can impress her dad.
"I'm really sorry, Nayeon-ssi but I can't just invest in projects that I think won't be of any profit. It'll just be a loss for my company and it will damage our name and reputation. I hope you understand that." Y/N doesn't want any bad blood with the daughter of the CEO of ImTech, but she really just can't invest in this.
"I understand, Y/N-ssi. Don't worry about it, still thank you for your time and for meeting me." Nayeon actually doesn't understand at all but she has to be polite in this kind of situation. Chou Y/N was her chance to impress her dad, but guess the universe isn't helping her out with that.
"No problem, anytime." Y/N smiled weakly.
"I should go now, thank you once again." Nayeon stood up and so did Y/N.
"I hope to see you soon, Nayeon-ssi." Y/N shook Nayeon's hand and with that Nayeon left the office in frustration.
"Momo, let's go." Nayeon said to her assistant when she left the office and the two went out of the building and got into the car.
"You don't look very happy, Ms. Im." Momo noticed.
"That jerk rejected my offer. I mean who does she think she is telling me that it will fail? About 20 investors thought that it will be profitable so does she really think that I'm going to listen to her?" Nayeon held her head in frustration.
"So it didn't go well?"
"No. But I don't need her. I have enough investors and I'll show her that this project will become successful." Nayeon nodded to herself.
------------------------------------------
"Son Chaeyoung, why are you laying around again?" Y/N asked first thing when she entered her mansion and saw Chaeyoung laying on the couch.
"Is that how you're going to greet your cousin?" Chaeyoung adjusted herself so that she could sit.
"You look like a mess again." Y/N sighed.
"Yah, what do you mean? I always look like this." Chaeyoung is Y/N's cousin and they're pretty close, so close to the point that Y/N sees her as a younger sister. Chaeyoung's family is also pretty rich but Chaeyoung doesn't care about that. She likes to wear leather jackets and go on adventures with her bike which her parents are not very fond of.
"Where were you last night? Tzuyu called me asking if I knew where you were."
"I was just hanging around you know." Chaeyoung chuckled.
"When are you going to be responsible? You keep making everyone around you worry." Y/N scolded her younger cousin.
"Yah, you weren't like this. You were the one defending me and now you're one of them?"
"No. I don't care what you do, just don't make us worry. At least let us know where you are." Y/N suggested.
"Fine. I'll do that in the future... Maybe." Chaeyoung laughed and Y/N shook her head.
"You're 21 yet you're acting like a 14 year old."
"You're 25 yet you're acting like a 45 year old. And let me tell you something, that's much worse. At least I'm having fun. When did you ever have fun? You've been working almost all your life, you should loosen up a bit." Chaeyoung stood up.
"Chaeyoung is right about that unnie." Tzuyu approached them.
"Really? You too, Tzuyu-yah?" Y/N raised her eyebrows.
"Don't get me wrong, I also think Chaeyoung is childish but she's right that you never have fun. Chaeyoung has too much fun and you never have fun. You're both just a mess." Tzuyu shook her head.
"I don't have time for fun. My career is more important." Y/N informed.
"Yes, it's important but you don't even have any friends. You only have us and you've never even dated anyone properly. Don't you think it would be nice to have some other friends or just even a hobby?" Chaeyoung questioned.
"No."
"Unnie, we're just worried about you. You saw how bad it ended with dad because of his burnout. We're scared that the same thing will happen to you." Tzuyu caressed her older sister's arm.
"That will not happen, so don't worry. Aish how did me scolding Chaeyoung end up in me getting scolded?"
"Girls, dinner is ready." Mrs. Chou yelled and they all went to the dining hall.
"Y/N-ah, I heard Im Nayeon came to our company today. Was it to meet you?" Her father questioned.
"Yes. She presented her project to me."
"Did you accept it?" Tzuyu asked.
"No, I didn't. I won't be investing in her project."
"Why?" Mrs. Chou asked.
"It's not good enough. You know how I only invest in projects that I'm 100% sure that they'll be profitable. This project... I don't think it'll be profitable."
"THE Im Nayeon showed up at your company?" Chaeyoung raised her eyebrows.
"You know her?" Tzuyu asked.
"Yeah, who doesn't? She's hot." Chaeyoung chuckled.
"Mina won't be appreciating this." Y/N shook her head.
"Yah, why do you keep mentioning Mina? She hates my guts." Even though Chaeyoung acts like an irresponsible child, she's still the daughter of a rich family so she does know other families to some extent. However there's one girl that she really likes to annoy and that girl is Myoui Mina, but unfortunately Mina doesn't show any interest in her at all.
"Yeah, because you're annoying." Tzuyu rolled her eyes.
"Girls stop bothering Chaeyoung." Mr. Chou demanded.
"Thank you uncle. You girls should listen to your father you know." Chaeyoung said with her mouth full of food.
"You disgust me." Tzuyu shook her head and Y/N just laughed.
"I hope you didn't reject Ms. Im harshly. You know her dad is an important business partner." Y/N's father said.
"Of course not. I rejected her in the best way I could but I think she was pretty frustrated."
"Oef, Im Nayeon can be scary. You should be careful." Chaeyoung advised.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I don't think she'll bother me anymore. She has enough investors anyways." Little did Y/N know that this was the beginning of a huge burden...
