Chapter 1: Chapter 1

The Cure // Im Nayeon x ReaderWords: 10830

"Momo, does this dress look good on me?" Nayeon asked her assistant as she looked into the mirror.

"Yes, Ms. Im, it suits you very well."

"Sana told me that there will be a lot of investors at the party. This is a chance for me to put myself out there." Nayeon sighed.

"You're right about that." A man's voice was suddenly heard.

"Oh dad, I didn't know you're here." Nayeon turned around and was met with her father.

"This is the biggest party of the year. If you want to become the next CEO of ImTech you should indeed put yourself out there." Her dad said. Nayeon is the daughter of one of the richest famlies in Korea. Her dad is the CEO of ImTech and Nayeon is planning to be the next one.

"I heard that there were going to be investors. I thought that maybe I should present my project to them." Nayeon shared. She already approached some investors and they all agreed on investing in her project but the more investors she can find, the better.

"That's a good idea. The Minatozaki family has a lot of ties with important people. Maybe even more than our family. If you want to impress me with your project, you should go find the best investors you can." Mr. Im suggested. Nayeon has been working at her family's company ever since she graduated. Since her father is getting older, people are asking on who will be becoming the next CEO. Nayeon hasn't proven herself yet, that's why she asked her father to let her do a business project. If she manages to impress him with this project then she'll be one step closer to becoming the next CEO. However, it isn't very easy because of her older brother. He's been impressing everyone a lot lately because he also has the wish of becoming the next CEO.

"If you're ready we should go. Your mom is already waiting downstairs." The man said and Nayeon nodded as she followed him outside.

"Oppa won't be coming?" Nayeon questioned when she realized that it was only her with her parents.

"No, he's still in Busan for work." Nayeon's mother answered and with that they entered their car and went to the party. When they arrived they saw a lot of people. All rich and elegant people. The Minatozaki family are the ones throwing the party to celebrate their new achievements. They're one of the richest families in Korea as well and they're close to the Im family.

"Ah the Im family is here. Welcome to our party." Mr. Minatozaki approached them and they shook hands.

"Is it just me or are your parties getting bigger and bigger each time?" Mr. Im laughed.

"You can say that. Make yourselves comfortable please." Mrs. Minatozaki smiled and the family entered. There were so many people present it was crazy. The party is huge.

"Mr. Im it has been awhile." The Myoui family suddenly approached them and Nayeon was happy to see their daughter, Mina, who is a friend of hers.

"This party is crazy. Sana's family really went all the way." Mina approached Nayeon while their parents just talked to each other.

"I heard the Chou family is coming tonight." Mrs. Myoui informed.

"Oh really? They haven't come to a party since forever." Mrs. Im remembered.

"Ever since Mr. Chou got a burnout he hasn't been around that much. Oh I think they're here. Honey, we should go and say hello to them." Mr. Myoui suggested and with that the Myoui family left.

"Do you see that girl over there? Her name is Chou Y/N. She's the CEO of Chou Holdings. She's one of the youngest billionaire CEO's out there. I gotta admit she's very impressive." Nayeon's father told his daughter in a low voice. Nayeon has heard about Chou Y/N before. The girl is very popular because she became a CEO at a pretty young age and ever since she became a CEO their company has been doing even better than before.

The whole evening Nayeon spend getting to know new people who are possible investors and just people that could be useful in the future. Her number one goal right now is to have a successful project. If she wants to become the next CEO, this project needs to be perfect.

While she was talking to some possible investors, she saw Sana talking to Chou Y/N so she immediately went there. Anyone who has close ties to Chou Y/N is doing well in the industry so it's best to get to know her.

"Oh hi, Nayeon-ssi." Sana smiled and hugged Nayeon lightly.

"Let me introduce you to Chou Y/N. Y/N this is Im Nayeon." Sana introduced them and the two girls shook hands.

"You're the daughter of Mr. Im, right? Weird that we've never met." Y/N smiled. All the rich families daughters know each other to some extent but for whatever reason Nayeon and Y/N have never really met.

"Yeah, it is weird. I didn't see you at the previous party, I think?" Nayeon questioned as she looked at the woman in front of her.

"Y/N here is so busy as the CEO of Chou Holdings that she never shows up at any of the parties." Sana laughed. Since Y/N's dad got a burnout two years ago, the family decided to just distance theirselves from everyone. This is the first time that they joined something like this in two years.

"It's not easy being a young CEO, you know?" Y/N joked and they all laughed.

"I see that some guests are leaving. I should say goodbye to them." Sana informed and left the two behind. The mood became pretty awkward and both girls were just sipping from their glasses of wine while looking around.

"How old are you actually? If you don't mind me asking." Nayeon was curious. She's guessing that Y/N is probably somewhere around her age.

"I'm 25 how about you?"

"Me too. We're the same age." Nayeon informed. 25 and already a CEO? Y/N is really living Nayeon's dream.

"I see you met my daughter, Y/N-ssi." Nayeon's father joined the two.

"Ah yes, I did. You have a lovely daughter Mr. Im." Y/N smiled and so did Nayeon upon hearing the compliment. The only reason why Y/N knows him is because Chou Holdings has invested in ImTech before.

"I hope you two can get along. My daughter can learn a lot from you." He patted Y/N's shoulder.

"I hope so too. It's an honor to meet the daughter of Mr. Im." Y/N smiled and locked eyes with Nayeon.

"My daughter here is actually leading a project for our company right now so maybe you could take a look at it as a possible investor?" The man questioned.

"Oh yeah of course. I'd love to take a look at it but you know how I am with investments right?" Y/N chuckled.

"Yes, yes, I know. You're very hard to convince." The man laughed and Nayeon just watched the two talk in front of her.

"Unnie, dad is looking for you." A girl suddenly approached Y/N. Unnie? Y/N has a sister? Why did Nayeon never hear about this?

"I should go now, Mr. Im. And Nayeon-ssi It was nice meeting you. I hope we can meet again soon." Y/N smiled and bowed. Nayeon gets why Y/N is so popular. She's young, rich, charming and polite. She has this mature vibe going around her which Nayeon appreciates.

"Nice to meet you too, Y/N-ssi." Nayeon also bowed and with that Y/N left.

"You know if you manage to convince Chou Y/N to invest in your project then I'll be very impressed with you." The man informed his daughter after the young CEO left.

"Oh really?" Nayeon raised her eyebrows. Now it is her goal to make Chou Y/N invest in her project.

"Oh Mina-ssi. I should leave you girls alone." Nayeon's father said when Mina approached them.

"I see you met Chou Y/N and Chou Tzuyu, huh?" Mina asked.

"Chou Tzuyu? Who is that?"

"The girl that Y/N left with, she's Y/N's sister. Not a lot of people know that she has a sister since the younger girl doesn't like attention very much." Mina explained.

"How did Y/N manage to become so successful at such a young age?" Nayeon asked.

"From what I know, she graduated early and has been working at their company for a long time. When her dad got a burnout, she was the perfect candidate for the CEO position despite her being young." Mina explained.

"So her dad really trusted her with it?"

"He had no other choice." Sana joined the two girls. "There are many people trying to bring them down, so there was really no one else that he could think of."

"Interesting." Nayeon said to herself.

"How's your project going, Nayeon-ssi? I heard you have a lot of investors already." Sana asked.

"Yes, but there's still one investor that I need to talk to."

"Who is it?" Mina raised her eyebrows.

"Chou Y/N." Nayeon smirked but her two Japanese friends started to laugh.

"That's a bit difficult. Y/N doesn't give out investments easily like that. She's going to demand a lot of your time and energy." Mina informed.

"I'm Im Nayeon, I can convince her, trust me." Nayeon said in full confidence and the three just continued to talk.

People were slowly starting to leave the party since it was getting late. Nayeon kept looking around to see if she could find Chou Y/N. She needs to ask her if they could maybe meet so that Nayeon can present her project to her. Luckily she saw the Chou family going out of the venue and she ran after them.

"Chou Y/N-ssi?" Nayeon yelled right before the family was going to enter the car.

"Oh, Nayeon-ssi? Something wrong?"

"Oh no. I just wanted to ask if we could maybe meet sometime this week? My dad mentioned how I'm leading a project, so I want to present it to you, if that's okay." Nayeon asked.

"Oh yeah, sure. Here's my card. Give me a call and we can arrange a meeting." Y/N handed Nayeon the card.

"Thank you." Nayeon smiled and with that Y/N entered the car.

"Was that Im Nayeon?" Tzuyu questioned.

"Yeah. She asked me for a meeting."

"I really don't like her." Tzuyu shook her head.

"Why?"

"I just don't like her entire family. They're so fake, it's obvious." Tzuyu rolled her eyed and Y/N chuckled.

"Tzuyu-yah, don't say it like that. We don't even know them that well." Their mother said.

"People like them are tthe reason why dad got a burnout. They're just walking headaches." Tzuyu continued and Y/N smiled as she shook her head. The Chou family is quite ordinary. They're not like the usual rich families out there and that's why they're seen as outcasts.

"She's probably going to ask you to invest, right?" Mr. Chou asked his daughter.

"Yeah, she said that their company is leading another project."

"Well, we always gained a lot from investing in their company." Mr. Chou remembered. They've invested in ImTech a few times by now and all with great success.

"Honey, Y/N will handle it. Don't you think about work that much okay?" The woman worried.

"It's okay. I know Y/N will make the right choices. I didn't point her out as the CEO for nothing right?" The man laughed. Y/N hasn't disappointed him even once ever since she became the CEO. Mr. Chou knows he made the right decision.
