As soon as Dee shut the office door, all hell broke loose. I took a deep breath, and growled “SIT DOWN” Sydney asked me where the little skank was and I told her to watch her mouth. I said “now.. you will listen without interruption or interference.. Althea has been given kitchen duty in the packhouse for an entire week as punishment. Sydney, you are on laundry duty for the same amount of time..there will be no more bullying or deliberately hurting another pack member. No more! I have zero tolerance!! As for yoir parents, Mr. and Mrs. Banner, you will take parenting classes… there is something seriously broken for your daughter behaving this badly. Sydney..as Alpha, I have always to be above reproach. It is no longer possible for us to be seen together.. And 3…2….1 She’s up and off her chair in my face and screaming “You can’t do that to me! And she runs out of the office. Banner stood up and yelled at me..”you were supposed to mate Sydney. You promised her! I snapped Stand Down! I will drop you like a stone! I turned to Mrs, Banner and knelt in front of her putting my hand on her shoulder. She was trembling. I linked Dillon does your dad hit your mom? Dillon asked his dad why didn’t he say something and his dad whispered we were scared. And my heart broke for them! I tell them to go get something to eat. I’m stunned. I think she wants to BE Althea. She’s petite and beautiful and funny…everything Sydney is not “ I nodded..that makes kind of twisted sense. Dillon came back in and sat down staring at the floor. I said “you wanna talk about it bro?” And he says “ how did I not know? I mean, I know she’s a piece of shit but she takes psycho to a whole new level. And how will Luna handle it when she finds out Sydney is my sister?” I laughed and said she’ll offer you her sympathies and then laugh how you once again got the shitty end of the stick. And we all laughed! We needed it and our Luna provided that. Already making us stronger! Caleb where we at on the GoldMoon situation? And what’s Michael’s last name?” Caleb said “He changed his name to Gold when his mother married Alpha Gold. He’s still sending trackers out..3 sets of 2 to towns in the area. They aren’t searching though. They go to the towns and sit in diners all day sipping coffee and playing cards. It’s great! I told you I didn’t think they would fight for anyone other than their true Alpha.” I started laughing. Then I said…I want his birth name. Bad seeds don’t just turn up..they’re planted. Caleb said “on it” Brent says “how did you remember that whole conversation? I was dying you doing her part of the conversation in a high pitched voice! How did you keep a straight face?” I said I have a photogenic memory. It comes in handy. Caleb jumps up and says “his name is Michael Hawthorn. His father is the rogue Alpha from the defunct MountainRidge Pack” I leaned back and rested my head… well ain’t that just fucking dandy! I will have to tell her. I won’t hide anything from her. I started off on one bad foot…I can’t do both. I told Brent I want warrior training to step up..extending workout times a half hour. It will build endurance. And I want trackers out checking nearby towns..if they see any trackers from GoldMoon find out what you can. We will not be caught with our pants around our ankles, gentleman. Caleb says “he said that like he’s experienced it” and they all laughed! They needed it! They decided to grab something to eat and a beer and play COD…walking out of the office to head down, my phone rang.. Caleb said let the machine get it and I said no..go ahead..I’ll catch up
