'Hey babe, why was there a withdraw of 100 grand from our account last week?' Amelia froze. Trying to think of anything to help get out of this situation. She was silent. 'Amelia' Charlie waved her hand in-front of her face to grab her attention. 'Sorry babe, what did you say?'Â 'I asked why there was a withdraw for 100 grand?'Â Amelia just shrugged her shoulders. 'I don't know baby, maybe it's a mistake'. 'But it says here you signed for it?'Â Amelia didn't even know Charlie knew how to work out a bank statement she was never good with numbers.
'Right okay, I'm going to tell you something but I need you to promsie me you're not going to get angry' Charlie gave her a skeptical look but agreed. 'YOU DID WHAT, ARE YOU INSANSE?' Charlie screamed at her. Amelia sat there rubbing her temples. 'Charlie you promised not to get annoyed please calm down, it was the only way to get rid of him'. 'Well how has that worked out for you, him coming to your place of work asking for MORE MONEY'
'Im gonna kill him' Charlie says angrily walking towards the door but before she could open it Amelia stood infront of her. 'Please Charlie if you do anything you won't be able to see lily again and if he does something to you, you still won't see Lilly again. You need to calm down please for me' Amelia's asked running her hands through Charlie's hair knowing it calms her down. 'Don't do anything like that again'. Charlie spoke clearly still annoyed by the situation.
'I WAS ONLY TRYING TO HELP CHARLIE' Amelia's screamed at her. But Charlie wasn't haven't none of it. 'You just made things 10x worse Amelia he now knows we have the money. Do you think he's just gonna let us live an easy life? No he's gonna drain us for all he can. Especially now he knows we slept together whilst I was your student. So next time don't do anything so fucking stupid' Amelia took a step back shocked at how Charlie was speaking to her. She hated it. She hated this side of Charlie. She tuned to walk away tears in her eyes. 'I'm going to take Lilly out for the day with Hayley, I'll see you later' not giving Charlie another look she grabbed Lilly making her way to meet Hayley.
'Shit, so what you going to do now?' Hayley asked as Amelia told her the story of what happened. 'Honestly Hayls I don't know, I know it was wrong of me to keep it from her but she didn't need to blow up on me like that and speak to me the way she did' Hayley nodded her head agreeing. They spoke more whilst taking a walk around the park. 'Ok don't make it obvious but a guy has been following us now for the past five minutes. He's taken every turn we have' Hayley said in a whisper. They both took a seat on the bench Turing their heads to get a better look. They both breathed out a sigh of relief when the guy turned to walk away. But Amelia was still not convinced that it was nothing.
She walked into the front door of her apartment expecting to see Charlie there but there was no sign of her. Only a note that read.
Been called into work at the club. Dinner is in the oven. See you later.
Amelia could hear the bluntness of it. It wasn't written with love and she hated it. She just wishes Charlie would understand that she was just trying to help she didn't mean to make things worse. She crumpled up the note throwing it away. Making her way over to the couch to watch films hoping she can stay awake for Charlie as she misses her.
