They had just gotten out of the car when June came in front of her. She looked angry, no that would be a very polite term to describe how she looked. She had looked furious so Sara could only hug Dean Goodbye who thankfully didn't stop her as she was dragged away by her best-friend.
"June, stop. I am coming with you willingly." Sara sighed; the grip of June's hand was a bit painful.
June suddenly stopped, glared at her and let her hand go as she marched forward towards the football ground. Sara slowly followed, in a way understanding the reason why her friend was pissed and not understanding it at the same time.
She understood that if ever June dated someone, she knows to be a wrong person, she would also tell her otherwise. Maybe she would actually been furious as well because she simply wants her friend to be happy but it would impossible considering she is aware that the guy is a jerk but June's attitude was aggressive, almost violently aggressive. And Sara saw no reason for June to accompany so much hatred towards Dean. She had hardly ever met Dean; Sara know they had never been even alone to hold a conversation and if she wanted to blame Dean's past for her reason of hate then Sara simply had a hard time buying it.
They finally stopped when they reached the bleachers. June took a seat and glared at the empty football ground with vengeance.
Sara could only sigh and take a seat with her.
"Why didn't you tell me?" June demanded.
"Because of this, obviously." Sara wasn't exactly a pushover and there was no way she would act to be a docile little girl when it came to her private matter. She respected June's opinion but only if June would actually keep it as an opinion.
"What? I don't even a right to be angry about not knowing about your getting into a relationship?"
"Don't you dare throw it at me. You were angry even before I decided to forgive Dean." Sara snapped back.
"For good reasons! Are you going to act like Dean's past never happened? Or he never left!?" June turned her angry eyes at her.
"I never said that and what am I supposed to do? I can't change it. And there was no saying that if in future I get into a relationship the guy would be without an ex or two. Am I supposed to hate him for waiting for me to come into his life? Should I hold it against him just because he was in a relationship before me? As for why he left, it was a private matter and I will not hold it against him anymore."
"Ex? They were fuck buddies, Sara. Open your eyes." June barked a malice laugh.
"How does that make a difference? Am I supposed to hate him for not being a virgin now?" Sara required; she had realized that this conversation will go nowhere.
"Look at you! He has already turned you against me. Someone who is actually capable of warning you about him. We are fighting because of him!" June took her hands in hers but Sara only saw hatred in her eyes, it was so deep that even if she had any other emotion there, Sara would be unable to see it.
"No, June. You are fighting because of him." Sara gently reminded her friend, feeling a bit tired.
June eyes widen and she snapped up from her seat, looking down at her with fuming eyes she said, "You have changed! He has already changed you enough for you to start a fight with me."
"I haven't changed, June. It was just fortunate that we never had something we ever argued over." Sara's voice had turned even softer. She smiled slightly at her friend who was so bound so hate someone she very dearly loved and adored. The feeling was twisting her insides, just knowing that someone who was so loved to her could be so hated by someone she also held important.
"Do whatever you want." June yelled and before Sara could stop her, raced away.
Sara had stood up to follow her but she couldn't find the need to chase after her friend who was being very unreasonable which was very out of character for her. Sara knew they didn't get along, knew that June had held some kind of grudge against Dean but for her to lash out like her had surprised her. She should ask Dean incase June ever became his victim of jests or pranks.
She sighed heavily and leaned back on the seat, closing her eyes. Though she was annoyed by all this, she was more hurt. Though she never though June to nice about it but her rejection to accept Dean was more painful than she was ready to admit. June had been there for her when Dean wasn't and she would never forget that and she had hoped June understood that well but form what how she was acting, waiting a few days would be a better choice.
She sat there for an hour, with her eyes closed while trying to clear her mind and just for a while not think about anything at all. The past month had been so overwhelming that she almost had no time to take a breather. It has not been all bad but the fact that she felt too much and too little time was a bit tiring. She never knew that emotions would be this tiring.
She felt him when he came closer and took a seat beside her, without opening her eyes she leaned into him as he embraced her. She breathes into his scent and wished time would stop for just a while so she could live a bit longer in the world where it was only him and her.
"I'm sorry, baby." He cooed as he brushed her hair from his hand.
"You wanted me unapologetic, Dean. So, let's keep our love exactly that." Sara mumbled back and felt him stiffen beside her for few seconds before he kissed her forehead very slightly but his lips lingered on her skin for a long time as if he was trying to hold some deep emotions inside.
She had never seen Dean being so bare, so undecorated before. It was like he had come to pursue her with all his might, leaving no stone unturned. He was unwilling to hide anything from her anymore and was giving his all to make sure she knew him, understood how her words made his emotions dance in joy. How just her being there was enough for him to be simply happy. The Dean she remembered was cool, very cocky and very aware of his presence. But the Dean who loved her was a very different person. The Dean who loved her was so easily moved by her every word, would slave himself to her happiness so willingly that it made her breathless. The Dean who only held her in his eyes was so beautiful to her that she wanted to hide him.
The feeling of such possessiveness was very new to her. She had always felt hurt before but now this new feeling which was growing, this need to protect this man who was so bare about how much he adored her was so strong that she could only accept it and do exactly that.
"Try to remember, Dean. Are you sure you have never done anything wrong with June? Or if any of your friends got involved with her?" Sara asked opening her eyes and turning to him, still wanting to make sure. She highly doubted Dean did anything but his friends were a bit wild.
She was glad Dean wasn't offended and actually thought over the matter but within few seconds his eyebrows crunched and he shook his head. Rubbing her cheek, he recalled, "It's very impossible no matter how much I think about it. I can say for myself that I never associated with her. As for my friends then that is impossible, Sara. They were too old to mess with such a young kid. The thought of even anyone of them dating June seems very unlikely but I'll still ask around."
"Thank you." Sara kissed his cheek and rise up, stretching.
She felt his eyes on her and found them digging holes on her body, the heat them made her blush and smack him on the head.
"What?"
"Stop staring at my body like a pervert." Sara fumed.
Dean's eyes turned devious as he stood up and pulled her to his chest tightly. Their pelvis was touching so closely that Sara could only look at him in horror and complete embarrassment. She didn't dare to struggle in case she accidentally give rise to trouble. The blood was rushing crazily all over her body, she could feel her heart having a panic attack.
He groped her butt like a pervert and whispered hoarsely, "But baby, you belong to me now so technically I am looking at my body, and touching it." With that his hand went under her clothes, his fingers grazing her back making a shiver travel down to her spine.
Before he could do anything else, Sara shook out of her daze and embarrassment and put her elbow on his neck, pushing it to his throat. Her eyes glared at her boyfriend who was slowly losing his marbles. Dean shamelessly grinned at her and leaned back, raising his hand in surrender.
"You are so beautiful." He murmured, grabbing her hand and kissing it and despite her anger she melted. He pushed it to his chest as he started pulling her to school. She willingly let him guide her, staring at his joyous smile with clutched chest. It was painfully sweet and she was bathing in its sensation. She noticed how his step felt like air and she wanted to dance with him to his songs, the one that was ringing in his mind as he touched her, as he be with her.
"Try talking to her once again after school ends. Maybe she is mad about losing her friend suddenly." Dean reasoned.
Sara stared at his side profile and then mocked, "It's creepy when you act like an adult."
"Oh, baby. I haven't even started acting like one yet." Obviously, Dean saw it as a chance to get touchy which she stopped with a glare.
When the school ended, Sara had been waiting outside June's classroom for her to come outside. She had actually sneaked out of her class a bit early so she will catch June. When finally, the bell rang, the kids slowly came outside after the teacher. June was one of the last ones to come out, when she noticed Sara, she was about to walk away when Sara grabbed her from her hand.
"Let's calmly talk this over." Sara said and she saw as June was probably about to yet at her before suddenly calming down and nodded.
Sara texted Dean about going home with June as June drove them to Sara's place. They silently ate the snacks which her mother had prepared. The silent was heavy but Sara wanted to properly collect her thoughts. She wanted to resolve the issue once and for all so that her friend would be okay with Dean. She was aware that from now on, Dean would be taking a lot of her time but she wanted to keep June with her as well. She didn't want to choose between either of them because both of them held different place in her heart.
By the time they were done, they were alone in the kitchen. Sara poured them some herbal tea and waited for a while before opening her mouth.
"June, I will not break up with Dean. Not for the reasons you provide. You are my best friend, I don't want to lose you because of something so petty."
"He will hurt you, Sara. He is not worthy of your trust." June argued, her eyes weren't as angry as they were this morning.
"June, I am not a child. I am capable of taking responsibility of my decisions." Sara softly reminded her friend.
"What if he leaves you to a point where you can't? On what bases are you trusting him so much?" June demanded, her body leaning forward toward she, it was a bit intimidating.
"June, I don't know why you believe you but as someone who have known him for years now, I can assure you he will never willingly hurt me and he never has." Sara was once again trying not to lose her cool. She was getting annoyed and angry. She didn't want to hear anything bad about Dean.
June went silent after that, she simply glowered at the table, her hands clutching and unclutching repeatedly as if she was trying to maintain her anger. Sara waited patiently for her answer for a while but when she saw June wasn't willing to talk, she continued, "How about this, if and only if he did hurt me. You can have bragging right for the rest of our lives. I give you full right to kill me if I beg to go back to him, what do you say?"
June turned towards her and slowly smiled and then a small laugh escapes her mouth. She nodded to Sara which made her grin. She leaned forward to hug June while laughing.
"Let's never fight again." Sara declared while smiling.
"Sure. But you better keep your word. I have full right." June said while grinning back.
Sara cheerfully nodded.
