Chapter 437 When Liana came to their medical school to give a lecture, Dr. Webb was instantly drawn to her.
To be worthy of her, Dr. Webb hit the books hard, made some strides in the medical field lately, and finally plucked up the courage to come clean about his feelings.
But Dr. Webb was always given the cold shoulder by Liana until today when he finally got the lowdown on why he was being rejected.
It turns out Liana had been hurt before, and Dr. Webb didnât need to ask to know it scarred her.
But to Dr. Webb, none of these were dealâbreakers. He was all about her and nothing else.
So, no matter what her past was like, he would be there for her, accepting her completely.
Just as Liana was about to give him the brushâoff again, a slender hand suddenly wrapped around her waist.
âDr. Webb, youâve got some guts. I thought youâd be turned off by a woman Iâve dumped.â
Hearing this, Liana went as white as a sheet, the hatred inside her making her instinctively push Tyler Howell away.
After being shoved away, Tyler looked sour but pretended not to care as he lifted Lianaâs chin.
âAre you scared Iâll spill the beans about our private affairs in front of Dr. Webb, is that why youâre pushing me away?â Liana clenched her fists, with her eyes filled with hidden anger and hatred, as she slowly turned to look at Tyler.
âAre you jealous?â
âHeh Tyler chuckled coldly. âWhy would I be jealous of a woman Iâve dumped?â
Before he could finish, he got a sucker punch from Dr. Webb standing next to him.
âTyler, I used to think you were a shining star in the medical world, but who knew you were such a scumbag underneath your fake mask!â
Dr. Webbâs punch landed squarely on Tylerâs face, turning his head and causing blood to pour from his mouth.
After licking the blood off his face, Tyler grabbed Dr. Webb by the collar and shoved him against the wall, landing a flurry of punches.
Tyler, stoneâfaced, focused all his rage on Dr. Webbâs face, beating him to a pulp.
It wasnât retaliation, but because Dr. Webb had laid a hand on his woman, and for that, Tyler thought he deserved to pay.
Seeing Dr. Webb being beaten black and blue, Liana rushed over and gave Tyler a hard slap.
âEnough!â
The man paused, looking somewhat incredulously at Liana.
She, however, didnât even spare him a glance, pushed his hand away from Dr. Webbâs collar, and helped Dr. Webb head toward the ward.
Tyler stood frozen; his dark eyes was fixed on Lianaâs retreating back.
A surge of unexplained anger made him restless, and he lunged forward, grabbing Lianaâs hand.
âWhy are you taking care of him before checking on me?â
Liana ignored him, shook him off, and once again helped Dr. Webb leave, which drove Tyler over the edge.
He kicked them both, sending them sprawling on the ground, then slowly crouched down.
He grabbed Lianaâs throat tightly. âLiana, have you fallen for him, this worthless guy?â
Liana, used to his rough handling, didnât react but just gave a slight smile. âSo, what if I have?â
Hearing this, Tyler felt a pain in his heart, as if it were being strangled by vines, âDidnât you say youâd always love me?â

Liana smiled faintly, with a touch of disappointment in her eyes. âI asked you, and you said you wouldnât marry me. Why should I always love you?â
Tyler stared into her eyes, seeing her disappointment, and suddenly felt a little panicked. âJust give me some time. Once Iâve dealt with the Howell family business, Iâll...
âMarry you. Tyler didnât say it, but Liana understood. Tyler was willing to marry her now.
But their relationship would never be approved by the Howell family. He couldnât marry her, and she wouldnât marry him.
Some say the best way to get back at someone is not to make them lose everything they have, but to give them everything and then take it away.
The despair of unrequited love could crush his heart and leave him lost forever.
