Let me go, Mr. Hill [by Shallow South] Chapter 666 âOkay, Iâll bring her home.â
Shaun carried Sarah, and Yael tagged along with them.
When he was about to place Sarah in the car, she suddenly stretched out her arms and wrapped them around his neck. Amid her sobs, she said, âDonât let go of me, Shaunic. Donât leave me. I know Iâm filthy, and thatâs why you donât want to touch me.â
âNo. Itâs not what you think.â Shaunâs heart sank.
âYou donât have to explain. I understand.â She covered his mouth. âActually, I know youâve slept at Catherineâs place for the past two nights. You lied to me, saying that you went on a business trip, but itâs alright. Itâs my fault because I canât satisfy you. I donât mind being the shameful girlfriend forever as long as youâre happy. It doesnât matter as long as I can stay by your side and see you every day when I open my eyes.
âI love you. How can I possibly love you so much? When I met you for the very first time back then, I fell deeply in love with you. As long as I can marry you, I can die without regret.â
She fell asleep while mumbling in his arms.
Yael could not help but say, âEldest Young Master, when you lied to Miss Neeson that you went on a business trip last night, she actually broke down and cried. But she told me not to let you know. She was willing to endure everything on her own. She even mentioned that she doesnât mind Catherine staying by your side.â
âThatâs enough.â Shaun clenched his fists. There was a hint of determination in his eyes. âIâll arrange our wedding for next month.â
âThatâs wonderful, but⦠You have yet divorced, right?â
âIâll get the proof of divorce tomorrow,â Shaun replied indifferently.
â¦
The next day.
8:00 a.m. at Hackett Institute.
Catherine was preparing breakfast when she heard a series of urgent knocks on the door.
The moment she opened the door, she saw quite some people standing there. There were Shaun, Hadley, Yael, and two Liona members whom she had met previously.
âAll of you⦠What are you guys planning to do?â Catherine took a deep breath and took off her apron.
Her eyes were alert.
Yael glanced at Shaun impassively before she said boldly, âEldest Young Master is here to get you to sign the divorce papers.â
Catherine narrowed her eyes and shifted her disappointed gaze to Shaun. âYou still chose to divorce me, huh?â
âHave I ever said that I wonât divorce you?â Shaun gestured to Hadley with his eyes.
Helpless, Hadley took out the divorce agreement and handed it to her. âPlease sign this.â
Catherine tore the papers upon receiving them. âI wonât sign this. Shaun, if you dare to force me, Iâll expose Sarah and your true colors.â
âYouâre referring to the marriage certificate, right?â Shaun looked at the Liona members, and they subsequently dashed inside to rummage through the drawers.
âShaun, what are you trying to do?â Catherine flew into a fury.
âIâm not going to let you ruin Sarahâs reputation.â The words that came out of Shaunâs elegant, thin lips were disappointing. âPass me the marriage certificate of your own accord.â
âI wonât pass it to you.â Catherine backed away.
Shaun grabbed her wrist and shot Yael a look. âFrisk her.â
Having waited for this moment for a long time, Yael immediately rushed toward Catherine.
Catherine kicked her, but Shaun then ordered all the Liona members to press Catherine down on the floor.
âShaun, youâre not a human being. Who am I to you? When you need me, you take advantage of me.
When you donât need me, you dump me as if Iâm a rag.â
No matter how powerful Catherine was, she could not defeat those masters alone. She trembled with anger, and her eyes turned red.
