TW: Blood, Death

"What do you mean you lost her?!"

"We're sorry, Mrs. Silvercrest."

I groan as I rub my hand against my pounding forehead. Of course, y/n got away that girl was always a slippery one to keep in check. Although as much as I hate to admit it, I do enjoy the chase. Ugh, I sound like an animal.

"Leave."

"B-but my elite, I am sure we could find her and br-bring her back if you give us o-one more chance. This is Midtown afterall h-how far could she have possib-"

"I said, LEAVE!"

With that, the female soldiers scamper off like rodents in search of cheese all the way out of my sight. I sit back down in my throne as my fellow elites dismiss everyone in the altar, leaving us and our daughters alone in the wooden structure.

"I was really hoping to eat today, but noooo your daughter's stupid toy had to go and make a mockery of us."

I glared at Valerie as her shrieking voice nagged at me. I swiftly grabbed her by the throat yanking her face towards mine as my claws embedded themselves into her skin.

"I think you have forgotten who is on top. Need I remind you."

She trembled while I squeezed her face tighter as a sickening crack echoed from her jaw, making a smile form on my face.

"Besides, the only one who let her get away was you. That incompetent group you call soldiers belongs to you. Therefore, you are responsible for her escape. If my gaurds were on the case, believe me when I say y/n wouldn't have even made it back to the boys' cage before being caught and brought to me. Train your runts, Valerie."

With a gulp, she stuttered out an 'of course' before I finally let go. Blood seeped from the holes in her face as I could hear her jaw re-structuring itself. The holes closed up soon after her jaw repaired itself before Valerie wiped the blood off her face and pouted.

"You don't have to be so serious all the time, Evelyn."

I rolled my eyes at her quiet remark before snapping my fingers.

"Tati, bring me my husband. Appears I have a use for him yet."

Tati nods before disappearing in a black smoke only to reappear a minute later with Tony. He frantically looks around before setting his eyes on me and quivering in fear.

I scoff under my breath as he trembles and weeps. It used to be funny, but now it's just sad. Is it so hard to have a partner that loves you, obeys you, and caters to your every need. It is three simple things. What is so difficult about it?

"Dear, glad you could join us. Unfortunately, y/n has escaped and took a woman's pet with her. It would appear she has yet to learn her lesson, but I assure you it will be dealt with accordingly."

Tony bows as he glances at our daughter, then back at me.

"Of course, but erm why am I here?"

I raise an eyebrow at his stupidity. I'm really starting to regret claiming this man as mine. I have been looking to find me a new lover, but I have yet to think of one that fits my standards....well, there is one but...no. Alas, I would have to wait longer before I can get a new pet to replace this one.

"I know you keep in contact with Vincent. Where. Is. He?"

His eyes widen in realization. He must really have taken me as a fool. As if I wouldn't notice, he keeps in contact with Valerie's lost husband.

"You know where Vincent is?!"

Valerie snarled like a ravenous wolf while approaching my husband with anger and desperation. Tony looked at me, terrified, obviously pleading for my help. I simply tilt my nose up as I watch Valerie get closer and closer as her nails extended into claws long enough to graze the ground.

"WHERE IS HE?!"

Her voice contorted and glitched as she closed in on him, ready to pounce. Her jaw unhinged, allowing her to open her mouth wide enough to swallow him whole.

"Evelyn!"

A smirk graced my face as Valerie pounced on Tony as she began to tear at his skin. His screams quaked the very altar as Valerie growls and snaps her teeth at his face.

"All you have to do is answer the question, Tony."

He continues to cry and squirm as he fights for his life.

"VINCENT IS UNDERGROUND LEADING THE REBELLION! HIS BASE IS HIDDEN DEEP UNDERNEATH THE OLD ABDONDED BUILDING ON OSMOND STREET!"

With that, I grab Valerie by her nape and easily remove her from Tony. He continues to cry as he covers his torn up face. His chest was split open with some of his organs missing. I couldn't help but lick my lips in pleasure as I watched his heart pound against his lungs.

"Evelyn...please....heal me."

His voice was weak and pathetic. He reaches a bloody hand towards me. I lean down to caress his hand, taking it up to my mouth and planting a small kiss to his palm.

"You served me well, my love."

I spoke with a slight tinge of grief, causing his eyes to widen.

"No, please...Aimiah-"

He choked and gurgle on his own blood before continuing pitifully.

"-plead for me, please!"

Desperation clawed at his voice as he turned his eyes towards Aimiah. I turned towards our daughter only to see her turn away and squeeze her eyes shut. Good girl. With that, I turned back towards Tony before standing back at my full height and digging my heel into his open chest cavity.

His heart drummed under my heel as I pressed down harder and harder until....that was it. He's out of my life. I felt oddly remorseful yet relieved. I close my eyes before opening them again. Now is not the time to start caring about some pathetic man.

"Tati."

Tati steps forward as she awaits my instructions.

"You heard Tony. Go to this underground base and bring back y/n...actually bring back everyone. I wish to remind our citizens what happens to those who don't comply. I don't care what conditions you bring back all of the rebels in, but be sure that not a hair is harmed on y/n's head."

Tati nods

"Of course, Evelyn."

With that, she disappears into a black smoke once more. I turn to Valerie as she goes to devour Tony's body whole.

"Stop."

She freezes and glares at me, only to whimper at my heated gaze, looking right back at her. She steps away from the body and retracts her claws along with re-hinging her jaw.

"Aimiah darling, go outside and retrieve our coachman. Stay in the carriage once you send him. I will be joining you shortly."

My daughter bites her lip hesitantly before whispering out 'yes mother' and walking out of the altar with one final glance towards her deceased father. Shortly after, my coachman comes inside with a large bag and a crew of other men. My coachman stuffs the body in the bag and carries it out to the carriage, presumably to tie it to the back, while the crew of men begin to hastily clean up the blood.

I step over the cleaning crew with ease as I make my way outside. I can hear Nadia snap her teeth at one of the men teasingly, causing him to let out a small girlish yelp. I ignore the girl's laughing as I continue my walk outside and into my carriage.

As soon as I am seated, my coachman yahs as the horse trails the gravel baths of Midtown back to my hillside home. Behind my carriage was Nadia's limo, Valerie's Mercedes, and Ramona's Rolls royce.

I glance towards Aimiah only to see her staring out of the window. In the reflection of the glass, I could see the sorrow and pain hidden in her eyes. Why can't she toughen up? I remind her of the meaningless values of emotion, yet she insist on having them. Why?

I cleared my throat as I opened and closed my mouth like a dehydrated fish. Think, think, think. I got it!

"Don't look so glum your father was a boneless spirit anyways. I am actually surprised he lived this long."

That...that came out harsher than I intended, but it was true. Her father was never the fearless type. Still, I could see her tense up as her jaw clenched. She shut her eyes as a single tear ran down her cheek.

This image made me... sad? Is that the word. I lift a hand up to wipe the tear away only for the carriage to stop. As soon as we came to a halt, Aimiah silently exited the vehicle, not even waiting for the coachman to open the door for her.

I don't get it. I teach her everything I was taught in the exact same style when I was but a modable spirit, yet she reacts differently. Are my teachings not harsh enough?

"Or you can try a....I don't know...softer approach?"

I turn to see Nadia looking at me with a soft smile from the open door.

"Soft? I wouldn't have been the elite I am today if our creator taught us gently. I only want what's best for her. Is that too much to ask for?"

Nadia rolls her eyes at my lack of empathy and understanding of compassion.

"You think breaking your daughter's body and spirit repeatedly until she gets it perfect isn't too much?"

I blink.

"Of course not. It's not like I'm asking her to go off and concur a universe of her own"

Nadia growls as she throws her arms in the air and stomps off, muttering things like 'I give up' and 'you're actually hopeless'. I watch as her figure disappears into her manor beside mine before I finally leave the carriage and make my way inside my mansion.

Softer approach? Absolutely not. It will only make her weak and dependent. As her mother, I know what's best for her, and what she needs is a stern hand to force her in the right direction.

"Lady Silvercrest, my elite, I couldn't help but notice the...dinner that your coachman brought in and I couldn't help but wonder how you would like the meal and if it will be a single serving or not."

One of my newer additions to my kitchen staff ran beside me before speaking timidly. I looked down at him with a hard glare before scoffing.

"Filleted. I'm offended you even asked such a question. Have my staff taught you nothing?"

He flinched at the growl hidden in my voice.

"Of course, my lady, I'll tell the others. Dinner shall be ready in a couple of hours."

He turned to scurry off before I stopped him.

"Before you go, to answer your second question.....make it a dinner for two. One for me....and another for my daughter. Make sure hers is well seasoned and tender."

The scrawny male gulped before whispering a 'yes ma'am' and rushing back into the kitchen. With that, I begin my walk to me and Ton-...to my room. My daughter will be perfect, I will be perfect, everything will be perfect. Even if it kills me.
