Leeora was a bit taken aback, âLady Corneliaââ
Cornelia looked at her pointedly. âI understand youâre concerned, but that child is carrying dangerous powers inside her. You cannot deny this truth.â
Leeora let out a sigh. âI understand. Do you mean we need to inform her about our discovery?â
âIn due time. There is no need to rush, but I believe she deserves to know.â Cornelia softened her expression. She then looked back at Draven. âI have one more thing to say. I have a theory about why I sensed the insignia of the deity of fire when Your Majesty was marking her.â
âWhat is it?â Draven finally asked.
âWe have predicted before that there is a strong seal that is suppressing her powers. When Your Majesty marked Ember, it probably triggered the magic of the seal. The mating bond is one of the strongest kindsâif not the strongestâbinding magic in existence, as it belonged to the category of the soul.
-?(0)???
âDragons have the most powerful magic due to their bloodline, and thus the pact created between His Majesty and his mate is bound to dominate any other magical restrictions about the soul. Meaning, it is highly likely that the seal on Emberâs soul will be eventually destroyed by the magic of the mating bond.
âConsidering His Majesty has merely marked Emberâthe bond has been created but the bond is not yet completeâ I fear once that bond is complete, the seal will break entirely and her powers will be freed. This worries me.â
Leeora felt ominous seeing the frown on the witchâs face. âSince the power belongs to her, then shouldnât we support her in using it? We have the Fire Fae, the Sun Elves and the Valley Elves, and we also have the shapeshifters who are descendants of fire-attributed divine beasts like the Flaming Apes and Nine-Tailed Foxesâ¦â
âI am not talking about her ability to control it,â Cornelia answered. âAs someone who lives in Agartha,I agree with you that we have many people who can help us teach her butâ¦have you ever wondered why sheâs sealed in the first place?â
Leeora swallowed the other things she wanted to say upon hearing that question.
?(O)???
Cornelia didnât wait for her to reply. âSince her powers are locked intentionally then there must be a strong reason for it. The one who had sealed her must be a powerful being himself. Perhaps, a deity himself sealed her. I have merely sensed a bit of her powers and there is no question that kind of fire is destructive. I believe such powers are best kept suppressed. I suggest we shall not go against the one who had sealed herââ
A cold voice cut in.
âWhat if the one who sealed her powers had ill intentions? What if he was an enemy of hers? What if her powers are a threat to them? What if itâs them who are evil?â Draven asked without pause.
Cornelia felt caught off guard, but Draven wasnât done yet.
âA destructive power doesnât always mean evilâor you think I am evil as well?â
Dravenâs powers were the same as what Cornelia described about Emberâs. Realizing her mistake, she had to swallow her shame.
âYour Majesty, my deepest apologies. I didnât mean it that way. In her case, someone has suppressed her powers intentionally and it is not the same with you. You have been using your powers in the right wayââ
âBut someone has erased my memories and the one who did it is someone powerful as well, just like the one who sealed her powers,â Draven interrupted her. âPerhaps, a deity did this to me as well.â
?(O)??? Cornelia could not disagree with this.
Leeora, who had been silent till now, spoke again, âWhat if the one who suppressed her powers and the one who had erased His Majestyâs memories are the same people?â
Draven nodded as he had thought about the same. âAfter thousands of years, it appears that I will get the answers to my questions on the day her powers are unleashed. Whoever put that seal on her will not stay still. They will come out of hiding, threatened by her powers, and they will eventually end up coming across me. I will know then if they are friends or foes.â
âThat means, Your Majesty has to break the seal suppressing her powers,â Cornelia commented.
ââ¦.and only when Sire completes the bond with her, only then will it happen,â Leeora added, feeling a little worried for Ember.
Draven didnât comment, but he knew that what these two said was right. Other than his instincts compelling him to complete that bond, now he had another reason to mate with herâ¦butâ¦
âSire, Iâ¦think we need to give her some timeâ¦Iâ¦understand your situation but,â Leeora could not help but speak up, ââ¦she is unaware of such thingsâ¦â
âShe is my mate and I believe I worry for her the most,â Draven interrupted the elderly elf who was struggling with her words. âI will make sure she understands everything.â
Leeora could not say anything as being her mate, Draven had the complete rights over her and everything was up to him to decide.
After the two women were dismissed, Draven leaned back in his chair with one conclusion in mindâEmber and him were connected to the same powerful being who had messed up with their lives.
Intuition was telling him the two had common enemies, and he would make sure to find them. If they were to come after Ember once her powers are unleashed, he would make sure to protect her and make them pay for it. But, he was also aware that it wouldnât be easy as he would be facing someone really powerful.
Now the main concern lay with him was the completion of the bond between him and his mate. he was aware that he had fulfilled it or there would be consequences of going against it. But his mate was a naive one and he didnât know how to proceed with things. She had just started living happily and he didnât know if he would be the reason to destroy the happiness she was feeling.
âWill I end up scaring her? Will she be able to understand what we will be doing soon to complete that bond?â
