‘I shove her in one of the cupboards and lock it with a key that I put on a shelf.

Chapter 6:

~ Unknown Pov ~

Knock. Knock.

‘’Come in Beta!’’ I shout.

‘’What did you need me for Alpha?’’

‘’Beta I have bad news. We can’t go on fighting with the Blue Moon Pack. They have us confused and have a big advantage over us. They have spies everywhere. We cannot go on like this any longer.’’

‘’But Alpha, we have tried everything. What can we do?’’ The Beta worries.

‘’Not everything has been tried yet. The other night I thought of a brilliant idea, one that can definitely save us. I went on the internet to see if it was possible and I think we can do it.’’ I say.

‘’Was this when you supposedly went out on Friday night to ‘get some air’?’’ He says cheekily. Damn! How does he know that I went somewhere?

‘’That doesn’t concern you. But what does require your input is how we end this battle with the Blue Moon Pack.

‘’How?’’ asked the Beta.

‘’Well the simplest option is to move. Where does the law state we can move?’’ I question him. ‘’In an unclaimed area that won’t give our secret away to the humans. Otherwise we will have to answer to the COS.’’ He replies.

‘’Good. So I went searching. That is what I did on Friday night.’’ I gulp as guilt builds up in my gut. I had intended on finding a place of residence but not in the way I did on Friday.

‘’I found an abandoned hotel in the middle of the woods. I did my research just in case we run into anything. The hotel wasn’t getting much business so it was closed about a month ago. The furniture and equipment are still there.’’ I carried on.

‘’I phoned the owners and asked them if we could move there. I told them that we were a growing company that needed expanding. They told me I could have it for free as they don’t want anything to do with that house.’’

‘’Why?’’ the Beta questioned.

‘’Apparently there has been some kidnappings around there and one girl was seen going into the woods. It scared everyone away from that hotel, even the workers’’ I say. I found it hard to keep my voice straight. It was difficult to lie and deceive someone you have known for your whole life.

‘’Ooh, sounds spooky! I like it. It means we won’t get any unwanted visitors and if that kidnapper shows up or even those girls, I’m sure we will put him straight.’’ The beta says defiantly. Great. I thought. He didn’t suspect a thing.

‘’Yes I think it will work’’ I say.

‘’But Alpha, what about the pack, we spent our lives here, and the children? What about the war and school? Some won’t want to move.’’ The beta enquired.

I started to think of a possible solution. I hadn’t thought this far ahead. And then I came up with something.

‘’Simple! We find a school near to the hotel, we shall re-adjust to the new surroundings and we will make a truce with the Blue Moon Pack saying that if we move, they will leave us alone. They can take our land. No harm done.’’ I say.

‘’Okay. Well you better tell the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack that then. Afterwards, I will tell our pack members’’ says the Beta

‘’Okay. I will make some calls’’ I replied.

I pick up my phone and call the other Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack.

‘’Hello. This is the Alpha of the Forest Moon Pack. Can I speak to your Alpha please? … Yes I would like to make a truce. … Well I propose that if my pack move, you will not harm us in any way, shape or form again. … Well, you will gain our land and all of our buildings. We will move and not disturb your residence…’’ A pause is heard on the other end of the line.

‘’A Pact! Even better. I shall come over to you and sign it straight away. We can help each other if the other pack gets attacked. … Perfect. Thank you ever so much. We’ll sort out the details when we get there. … Okay. Bye.’’

I put the phone down and I’m sure I have a massive grin on my face.

‘’He said yes! Tell the pack we leave next week!’’ I say excitedly

‘’But what about the school? We still need to finish our last year of high school.’’ askes the Beta.

I start tapping away at my keyboard in front o the computer.

‘’There.’’ I point to the screen. ‘’That is where we are staying and that,’’ I move my finger ‘’is where the nearest school is. About 20 minutes by car. It’s called JF High. It might be a human school but we can manage.’’

The Beta nods his head in approval.

‘’That’s settled then. Go tell the pack!’’ I order the Beta. He scurries off leaving me to think about other things like why I picked that place. I felt drawn to it like duck to water. But why? Guilt. My inner conscience shouted.
