Her fiancé had picked her up and brought her back to their apartment. Now, as her senses slowly returned, she forced her eyes open, wincing against the sharp pain of an oncoming headache.  The dim lighting in the room cast long shadows, and as her vision adjusted, she saw them—two figures locked in a passionate embrace, their lips moving feverishly against each other.  It felt like a bolt of lightning had struck her.  Frozen in shock, Inaya stared at the man and woman by her bedside, their heated kiss continuing as if she weren’t even there.  The anger inside her began to boil.  "Layla, stop messing around. Inaya just fell asleep!" the man murmured, his grip tightening around the woman’s waist.  "What? Are you afraid your fiancée will wake up?" Layla Joshi scoffed, her tone laced with irritation. **"You’re getting married tomorrow. Why don’t you spend the night with me instead?"  The man chuckled, his voice dripping with seduction. "Babe, you’re such a troublemaker. Let’s go to the other room." "No! I want to do it here! I want to do it right in front of her!" Layla declared, her fingers deftly unbuttoning his shirt as their lips met again.  Lying motionless, Inaya felt warm tears slide silently down her cheeks. The man she was supposed to marry in just a few hours was betraying her—right in front of her eyes.  "Behave," he coaxed. "Let’s go to the bathroom. Isn’t the bathtub your favorite place?"  "Fine," Layla pouted. "But you go in first and fill it up for me..."  As soon as he disappeared into the bathroom, Layla turned toward Inaya. Leaning in close, she smirked and whispered, "Inaya, I won’t let you and Neil sign those papers tomorrow. I’m pregnant. He’s mine."  A shudder ran through Inaya’s body as she clenched her fists, suppressing the overwhelming urge to scream. She bit her lip so hard she could taste blood, forcing herself to remain silent.  Moments later, the sound of moans from the bathroom echoed through the room. That was when she knew—her world had completely shattered.  Three years ago, Inaya had been Mumbai’s top model. She had given up everything for this man, even handing over her hard-earned position to Layla. And for what? To prepare the perfect wedding for another woman?  No. This must be a nightmare. Everything will be back to normal tomorrow.  She kept lying to herself.  But halfway through the night, Layla feigned sickness, dragging Neil away from the hotel. And just like that, he left—never returning.  They were supposed to get married tomorrow !!---  ### The Next Day  As planned, Inaya drove to the Civil Affairs office, forcing a bitter smile onto her face. Stepping out of her car, she dialed Neil’s number.  The voice on the other end was cold.  "Layla was injured on stage. I have to deal with this urgent matter first. Let’s postpone the registration to another day." A hollow chuckle escaped her lips.  'There is no ‘another day,’ she told herself.  Slipping on her sunglasses, she turned to leave. But just then, a tall figure entered her line of sight.  He walked with an air of undeniable authority, his fitted dark blue retro suit sculpting his strong frame. A wine-red handkerchief peeked out of his chest pocket—a subtle but striking contrast. Her gaze dropped to his polished brown leather shoes, which gleamed under the sunlight, each step radiating sheer power.  This man... he carried himself like a medieval king.  As he moved closer, his features sharpened—chiselled jaw, sculpted lips, and an intensity that made the air around him feel electrified. Even with his sunglasses on, his presence was overpowering.  Inaya recognized him immediately.  Atharv Singhania.  The CEO of AR Entertainment. They had met once before at a grand ball when she was still a reigning star.  Is he getting married today as well?  A voice interrupted her thoughts.  "President, Miss Ria has not arrived on time. She’s ten minutes late."  Atharv’s assistant sounded nervous.  His response was cutting. "Call the Rana family and tell them—if they can’t even show up on time to a wedding, they shouldn’t bother coming at all." "But sir, the chairman insisted that you must marry today, no matter what. He even said that if you had to marry a transvestite, he wouldn’t care—" Atharv’s lips curled in irritation. "Then randomly pick a woman from the socialite families. You have half an hour."  His voice was commanding, unwavering.  Inaya’s eyes widened slightly. So, even he is being forced into marriage... though under very different circumstances.  Atharv had the power to choose any woman he wanted, yet love was never a priority for him. His goal was simple—fulfilling his family’s expectations, even if it meant marrying a stranger.  A sudden thought sparked in Inaya’s mind.  Before she could second-guess herself, she removed her sunglasses, stepped forward, and met his gaze.  With a soft, confident voice, she proposed—  "President Singhania, your bride hasn’t arrived, and my groom has run away. May I suggest... we get married?" --- "A small request to all my readers, if you want to read the entire story and all my written stories without interruption, please subscribe to my id.
