Veer was back to his office after his little breakdown. He was drowning himself in work to forget everything and move on.

He had stopped going to the mansion and was currently staying in the penthouse. He was also not picking up any calls from his family. He saw Dhruv rarely and they didn't talk to each other anymore.

After the other night , he hadn't talked to Rehan. He was ashamed to face his little brother after breaking his Bhabhi who he loved so much.

Veer had never even dreamt that his wife and his brothers would bond in such a way. Dhwani was like that he guess. Never afraid to break into people's heart and make a place for herself.

Well in his case , he had given up his whole heart for her and made her the queen of his mere existence.

Suddenly his phone rang and Rehan's contact popped up. Veer hesitated for a second, then picked up the phone.

"Hello?"

Veer couldn't find his voice to reply to his brother. It was as if his shame was choking him.

"Hello? Bhaiyya?"

"Hmm..mm..yeah?"

"Check the link I have forwarded. Now. " Rehan said seriously.

"Yeah I will check it. And Rehan about the other day , I am sorry .."

"Yeah Bhai I know..."

"No Rehan I have to apologise. You are younger than me .."

"Bhai will you first please check the link" his tone was urgent.

"Ek second"

"You've got to be fucking kidding me right now " I exclaimed.

"Exactly."

"I will call you back. " I replied sensing a headache building in the back of my head.

"You better do. " He said then hung up.

Veer called his assistant inside the cabin at once.

"I want this page out of the whole damn internet. Take down all the rumours. Pay them whatever they want. If they still don't co-operate you know what to do. "

"Yes sir. " She replied and he gestured her to get out.

As she got out , Dhwani stormed inside the cabin. She was furious.

Even God can't save me now. Veer thought to himself.

Once she was sure they were alone and nobody could eavesdrop , she held up her phone and asked threateningly.

"Mr. Veer Singhania, care to explain what fuckery this is?"

"Dhwani sit down first. " he replied gesturing to the chair with one hand and rubbing his forehead with the other.

"No , no you don't get to do that to me. First answer my damn questions. " She fired back.

"I am as clueless as you are. " he replied truthfully. He was rethinking and reanalysing his every word and every move.

Veer was known for his short temper but Dhwani was known for how her anger could wreck havoc anywhere or on anyone.

She was his queen for a reason.

"Oh don't give me those bloody practiced lies. I am pretty sure you leaked this information on purpose. No one other than us and our family know about this. " she said rolling her eyes.

"So let me get this clear , you trust MY family and not ME?" He asked offended.

Veer regretted the wording of the sentence the moment it left his mouth as he saw the pang of hurt in Dhwani's eyes.

"I think I know them enough Mr Singhania but I can't say the same about you. " she said her tone filled with mirth.

"Dhwani. I am sorry. I didn't mean it like that . Please listen to me first. "

"I don't want to hear anything from you. All I asked from you from this divorce was privacy and you couldn't even give me that one thing..." She was shaking with anger and behind that anger he could see fear.

"Dhwani.." I stood up from the chair and started walking towards her to the opposite side of the table.

".... And you are sitting here without any care.."

I held her arms and looked straight into her eyes.

"Dhwani, Love I didn't leak this. Trust me and whoever did this is going to pay. I am going to make them pay. "

"I am sorry for the whole situation but we will figure something out okay? I know trusting me is hard but all I am asking for is one last chance. Let ME rectify this. "

She nodded seeing sense in his argument.

Suddenly his phone rang again.

He was about to put it on silent when Dhwani asked him to take the call.

"Bhai?"

"Han Rehan?"

"Rehan?" Dhwani asked pointing to the phone.

"Is Bhabhi there?" He enquired.

"Yeah.."

"Put the phone on speaker. "

"Bhabhi?"

"Han Rehan bolo"

"I want both of you to come home today. We need to talk about this whole thing. The cat is already out of the box. " his words had a sense of urgency and seriousness.

"I will be there. "

"Bhai you too. Chachi is really worried about you. We all are..." I hung up the phone hurriedly before he could say anything more.

"Why is she worried?"

"It's nothing. He was just going on baselessly. " Veer said trying to deflect the topic.

" Veer. Please. No more lies. " She sighed.

He took a deep breath.

" I stopped going home from last week. "

"What the hell Veer ? Are you even looking after yourself? Obviously Chachi would be worried. You don't take anything seriously. " she said going on and on. Veer couldn't do anything but gaze lovingly at her as the old Dhwani peaked from behind the walls that were now around her.

"Ghoor kyun rahee ho?" She questioned.

"Don't stop. Go on. It's been a while since my love has cared about me like this. " He smirked.

She moved a bit away from him.

"It's nothing like that. I was just showing some Insaniyat (humanity). " She rolled her eyes.

"Oh I see."

"Then the only prayer I have for all the gods in this universe is , to be the sole recipient of your 'inzaniyat'" I mumbled.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing "

"Did you eat anything today?" She asked as she was about to exit.

"No "

"This man.." she sighed exasperatedly.

"I will send lunch for you. Eat it. "

"Don't wait for me in the evening. I will come myself and eat a painkiller if you headache increase by the evening. "

Yaar did you see it? "

"Yeah. I know. "

"Unbelievable. "

"But it felt like they really loved each other. "

"All these rich couple are the same. "

"Well I always knew she was those gold digger types. "

The moment they saw Dhwani, the entire hall was silent.

She could feel their stares as she made her way to the lift. She internally flipped them off but maintained her attitude.

A sudden panic had rushed into Dhwani the moment she saw the article about them.

She had made sure that this stayed inside the family and she was terrified of the fact that it had got out.

Once she reached her office , she called her assistant.

"Where were you off to in such a hurry?"

"Woh.. ma'am canteen.."

"First sent my tiffin to Mr Singhania's office and order something for me "

"Anything else ma'am?"

"Ah yes. Is there any important meeting today ?"

"No ma'am. "

"Good. Arrange a car for me by 4 pm. You can go. "

"Natasha you can order me luch after you finish yours. "

"Thank you ma'am " she replied smiling.

"Go on.." she said still in her stern tone.

Dhwani was still shook about the whole thing. She needed some sleep. These nights sleep was the only thing she couldn't find and when she did fall asleep, it was followed by nightmares that broke her in ways she didn't know she could break.

Dhwani finished her work after lunch.

"Ma'am the car is ready. " Natasha said at sharp 4 o clock.

"Thank you Natasha " i replied with a grateful smile.

"And I am sorry ma'am. I saw the article. "

Dhwani tensed at that.

"It's okay. " She replied, stoic.

She got into the car and told the driver her destination then proceeded to read the new book she had started.

On the way she stopped at a bakery and bought some sweets.

Once they reached there she thanked the driver and got out. She used to be a middle class girl and some habits were hard to change even if your social class gets elevated. For her these were basic manners.

As she was getting inside the orphanage, she bumped into someone and was about to fall down when the 'someone' held her by the waist and pulled her up.

"Thank...YOU??!!" She yelled in shock.

"What are you doing here?" Both of them asked at the same time.

"I asked first. " Veer said.

"It's a wonderful surprise to see you both here today.  Come on in. "  The warden said seeing us both standing at the doorstep of the orphanage.

Dhwani smiled and interlocked her hands with Veer 's and started walking towards the warden.

"Act along. " She whispered in his ear to which he gave a slight nod.

"Good evening ma'am. We just wanted to distribute some sweets to the children. "

"Oh anything special?"

"It's our 2nd anniversary" Veer said before I could reply.

Today was their real anniversary. They had tied the knot and announced the new a month after in order to retain their privacy.

I stared at him surprised. He remembered?

"That's so sweet. I'll call the children "

"You remembered?"

"Well yes obviously. It is the best day of my life. "

"Not that. You remembered our promise. "

"How can I ever forget something so pure that I promised , love?"

*

"It's our six month anniversary"

"I know "

They were lying on their bed. Veer was working on his laptop and Dhwani was reading a book lying on his shoulders.

"Why do you sound so bored?"  He asked closing the laptop.

"Because I am. I find this three month six month anniversaries stupid."  She said whining a bit. Her reading was getting disturbed.

"Thank God I married you then. " He said kissing her cheek.

She smiled and gazed at him lovingly.

"I thank him everyday too. For giving you to me. "

"You don't have to thank God for that love , I am yours completely forever. "

He whispered.

She leaned forward and kissed him slowly.

"I have one wish" she said breaking the kiss.

"I want to distribute sweets to one orphanage on our anniversary every year. "

"Anything for my love. "

"Pinky promise. "

"Pinky promise. "

*

"How did you know I was coming here?"

On their first anniversary they had distributed sweets at Dhwani's orphanage. This time she wanted to do it here.

"I didn't " he replied truthfully.

Both of them had the same reason but didn't know that themselves.

They started distributing the sweets.

As they were about to finish, Veer asked one of the caretakers.

"Did every child get the sweet?"

"Yes sir I think so. "

"What happened?" The warden asked.

"Nothing. We were just asking if everyone got the sweets. " Dhwani replied with a smile.

"Everyone is here. Well except ladoo that is. "

"What happened to him?" She asked hurriedly as her heart skipped a beat. Why? she  didn't know. All she knew was that a bond had been made between them that day at the orphanage.

"Nothing. He is in by the garden. He didn't want to come. If you want I will give the sweets to him later. "

"No we will give it to him ourselves. " Veer said.

The warden led us to the garden. Ladoo was sitting there drawing something.

"Why does he look so sad?" I asked the warden ma'am as veer walked towards the boy.

"Actually there was this another girl who used to be his friend. She got adopted a month ago. He is like this since then. "

"Ohh"

"Hey buddy what are you drawing. ?" Veer asked sitting down next to the boy.

"That butterfly. " He said pointing towards a blue butterfly sitting on a bright yellow flower.

"Here let me help you. "

Veer took the pencil from him and corrected some lines of the drawing. It now has a realistic touch to it.

"How did you do that?" He asked awestruck.

"Do you see how everything has a shadow? It is formed because of the way the light touch it......"

Dhwani zoned out as she looked at them. Veer was explaining everything and the boy was absorbing everything like a sponge.

"Can you teach me?" He asked excited.

"Some other time. " Veer replied,  messing up his hair.

"Do you want a ladoo?" Dhwani asked forwarding to him two laddoos. One orange and the other yellow.

Veer's eyes reflected the mischief in hers.

The yellow was bought by Dhwani and Orange by Veer.

Ladoo was looking at both of the sweet with utmost concentration. He was in a grave dilemma.

"Can I have both?" He asked meekly.

"Ofcourse. " Dhwani and Veer smiled and gave him both.

They were about to go home when Veer stopped her.

"We are going to the same place. You can come with me. "

Dhwani thought about it for a moment. He was right.

"Okay fine. " She said getting into his car.
