Adrenaline. That's what I'm running on. My pack and I have trained non-stop so that when we face Midnight Risers, we'll be ready. For every pain that he had caused Katie, I'll enjoy every time hearing him wince in pain.
Thursday, March 2nd. That's today. I don't know how much longer I can go without being away from Katie. My wolf howls for her wolf. Seeing her still in the laying position that's she's been in since I put her there, makes my wolf want to rip Alpha Miller's throat right now.
I know Emily was the one that caused her to be like this but if Alpha- no. He doesn't deserve to be called alpha. He's just Daniel Miller. If Daniel hadn't tried to get rid of me this wouldn't have happened. None of this would have happened.
"Asher! Take a break, you're going to ware yourself out." Colton said as he laid a friendly hand on my shoulder.
I brushed him off and continued to lift weights. To make your wolf stronger you must be strong human and wolf form. "No." I replied through gritted teeth. "There's no time to take a break! And as you're alpha, I demand you go and train also!"
Colton rubbing his forehead in frustration. "You're not the only one without their mate!" He shouted at me, my wolf didn't like his tone but he also knew what it was like not having your mate with you, terrible.. "I only got my mate for twenty minutes! At least you had months with yours! You're being selfish, Asher. Right now, Katie is in a coma and you're in her sulking! You need a clear head if you're going to fight the Midnight Risers."
I knew he was right deep down. I was fighting with myself basically. I never want to stop training because I don't want to be weak but I know if I keep doing this ill be too tired to fight. Dropping my hands to my side, I take a deep breath. "You're right." I mumble out.
Colton smirks and cups his ear. "What's that?"
I roll my eyes. "I said you're right."
"Never thought this day would come!" He jokes and gets a chuckle out of me. "Now go on, you desperately need a shower and you have financial business."
I glare at him but leave to take a shower. If he wasn't my beta, I'd beat him to a pulp.
Walking past the room Katie lies in is hard to do, I am craving to hear her voice at this point and don't know how much longer I can keep doing this. Though, I think that everyday and it gives me more drive to continue and fight for her.
I go to the bathroom and start to take a shower, totally dreading the amount of paperwork I have to do afterwards.
Colton's P.O.V
Heather and I have been secretly talking on the phone, but only for about 10 minutes because we don't want anyone finding out. I haven't even told Asher because anything could risk Alpha Miller finding out. Heather say that he'll kill anyone that's mated to Asher's pack. I don't fear my life, but I fear Heather and her family's.
"Hello?" Heather's sweet voice came through the phone, she was whispering.
"Hi." I say like a love sick puppy.
'You're a man Colton, so act like it!' My wolf said in my head.
'If you ever want me to shift so you can meet her, I'd suggest you pipe down.' I replied to him.
"I miss you Colton." She tells me. The way she says my name gives me complete chills. Wow, I sound like a total girl.
'I know...'My wolf says.
I sighed and ignored him. "I miss you too baby, but soon we'll be together."
"I hope so... Alpha Miller has gotten a lot tougher and kills pack members like its nothing if they don't train hard enough."
My wolf growled at that. "Heather, I won't allow him to hurt you or your family. I'll get you out of there, I promise."
I heard a sob come from her over the phone and my heart literately shattered. "I just need you."
"I need you too." I admit.
"Heather!" I hear a voice that isn't Heather's. "Coming!" She shouts back. "Colton I have to go. I'll call you when I can." And before I could say goodbye she hung up.
I walk outside and begin the training sessions we've started recently, preparing all our wolves for the fight. "John, take the youngest fighters and bring them to Peter to train them. I'll take our advanced fighters." I ordered. John nodded and left.
I walked back to our training circle of fighters and they shifted, as well as me. 'Pair up, then verse each other." I commanded. They did as told while I supervised and perfected any mistakes they had made. We did this for the next few hours till they were all too tired to stand.
Asher's P.O.V.
I finished writing my signature on the paper and placed it in the pile of papers I have finished. After hours of work that needed to be done, I managed to get it all done. Walking outside, I decided to check on the pack and the training, that is until the pack doctor came running up to me.
"Alpha! Come quick, it's Katie." She said while breathing heavy. She didn't have to say anymore, I was already running up the steps to my mate's room.
When I opened the door, she was fidgeting, looking like she was waking up. My hearts never beat so fast. I was at her side in a second, holding her hand. "Come on baby, you can do it." I encouraged softly. "Please wake up."
Her eyes slowly started to open up, showing the angel like crystal blue eyes. I smiled widely when she looked at me with a confused expression. "Asher?" She croaked out, her voice weak from not speaking for so long.
I leaned to kiss her forehead. "Yes. It's me. I missed you so much."
"Why? I just saw you yesterday."
My smile dims. "Katie, what's the last thing you remember?"
She thinks about it for a moment before answering. "Well, we were... You know." She blushes crazily while I smirk, that would be her last memory.
I take a deep breath. "Baby, you were attacked by Emily, she tried to kill you."
Her face hardens. "Crazy bitch..." She mutters.
"But I killed we before she could."
Katie's eyes go wide. "You k-killed her?"
I nod. "She was going to kill you, I would never let that happen."
"When was this?"
"Four months ago."
And then it clicks for her. "I've been sleeping for seven months?! Well move, I have so much to do!" She starts to get up but I gently push her back down by her shoulders.
"No, you just woke up. You need to rest."
She scoffs, well she certainly didn't lose her stubbornness... "I've had plenty of time to rest! And I'm not stubborn!" Oh yeah, forgot she could read my mind. "Yeah, I can so move so I can get up."
"No, you will not leave this bed." I says, using my Alpha voice.
"You're going to try and stop me? Asher, I thought you'd know that that's impossible by now." She smirked, and theaters the attitude that I sincerely missed.
"Katie, I'm not joking. I will tie you to this bed if that's what it takes." I said, and then let out a laugh of disbelief. "You'd think being asleep for four months would wear you out a bit."
She shook her head. "Not a bit."
I couldn't take it anymore, I smashed my lips to hers and she immediately responded. Four months I've been waiting to kiss her and the feeling was better than the first time we kissed. She pulled away all too soon.
She poked my nose. "You can have another kiss if you let me up."
I leaned forward so our lips brushed. "I don't think so." I smirked and pushed her back down.
"Gosh, maybe I should go back to sleep!"
I glared. "Don't even say that, I've been in hell waiting for you to wake up."
Her face softens. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." She whispered out.
I cupped her cheek in my hand and rubbed her temple with my thumb. "I love you Kait."
She smiled. "I love you too."
I leaned in and was about to kiss her and right when our lips were about to meet she moved so my face landed in the pillow. "No way, I told you. If I don't get to move, you don't get a kiss."
I groan. "You're killing."
She laughs. "But you love me anyway."
"True." I say and then wink.
