I ran. I was out of breath. I couldn't go on anymore. But I had to. Something was calling me to help. I didn't know who or what it was. I just ran. I made it to where the crying voice was. Then there was a flash of light.

In front of me was a horse. A big dapple grey mare. Her coat was almost white with grey spots and a grey tinge to her coat. Her legs were black from her knees down. Her mane and tail were black with bits of white in it. She was telling me something.

"Summer." she called. I stayed silent.

"Summer." She called again. "Don't be afraid. Don't ever be afraid of me. I'll see you again. One day." She said. "I'm you."

"What?" I asked. It came out as a neigh. I looked around, the horse wasn't there. I was where the horse was. I turned around but tripped. I got up and looked at myself in the pond. The reflection showed the horse.

"Help us!" I heard someone call out. I turned around. I saw a herd being captured. "Help us please." I was frozen.

"I'm sorry. I can't." I heard the horse cries, I saw them packed into a truck, I watched them lose their freedom.

"Sorry." I whispered. There was this little noise like a tranquilliser gun. I felt a pain in my shoulder. I hit the ground. The world went black.

I shot up. I was sweating a lot. I looked around. I was in my room. It was just a dream. I looked at my legs. Human legs. I laughed, why would I not have human legs? My tummy grumbled and I looked at the clock. 2:45am. It was too early to eat and too early to be awake. I laid back down and tried to go to sleep.

Sleep came and so did another dream. But it was just of yesterday. Not the mysterious grey mare. It was me with Storm and the stallion. Only he spoke to me.

"You will help us."

"Help you? How?" I asked.

"Save my herd."

I woke up. Too many strange dreams. I got up. It was only 5:00. I walked downstairs. I was absolutely hungry now. I walked to the fridge and opened it.

"Hmm, what should I have?" I asked myself.

I heard a neigh and I froze. I slowly closed the fridge and walked outside. Nothing was there. I was about to walk in when I saw him. The stallion from the herd.

"What are you doing here beautiful?" I asked him. Slowly, I walked up to him. He put his ears forward and walked towards me. "Why are you so friendly? You're meant to be a wild mustang stallion." He stopped right in front of me. I slowly put my hand out and he sniffed my hand. I slowly moved my hand up to his forelock and gave him a pat. I laughed when he played with my shirt, and tried to eat my hair.

"Summer. Is that you up?" I turned around and saw my mother walking down the stairs. I looked back at the stallion and he ran off into the night.

"Bye beautiful." I sighed and walked back inside. "Mum?"

"Honey what were you doing outside?" She asked.

"Oh nothing I thought I heard something." I lied. Well, I did hear something.

"Ok." She walked back upstairs.

"Alright what am I having for breakfast?" I asked myself again. I looked back outside but the stallion wasn't there.

I made myself a sandwich. Eh, I felt like one. I put lettuce, cucumber, and tomato on it. I sat down at the table and ate by myself. It tasted so good! I finished eating and rinsed my plate. I went upstairs and put on a pair of jeans and a blue polo shirt. I walked back downstairs and went to the lounge room. I turned the tv and dvd player on. I opened the cabinet and took out heartland season five. I'm on part two for that season. I put in disc two and closed the dvd player. I sat on the couch with a blanket and pressed play.

My brother walked down stairs at 6:00am.

"You're awake before me for once." He said.

"Yeah morning to you too." I said back. "Do you wanna watch heartland with me?"

"Sure."

"Bring the oreos." I said.

"Yes your majesty. What ever you want."

"Thank you servant." We both laughed and he walked over with oreos.

"Not that I find it very interesting but how was your ride yesterday? I kinda wish I came, it was so boring and Ty was really annoying." My brother said.

"I don't disagree with you about Ty and it was amazing. I saw a herd and the stallion was so beautiful. He let me get two meters from him. I was so close to him." I explained.

"Right. Seems you have fun."

"I'm going for another ride today."

"Cool. I'm gonna die here. They stayed over if you didn't know."

"Summer." I heard my little cousin call out.

"Maddy." I called back. She ran down the stairs and sat with Jason and me. "Morning."

"Morning." I looked at Jason and he smiled. He mouthed one two three. We both tickled Maddy, making her scream and laugh.

"Stop, stop!" She said between laughing.

"Alright." We stopped tickling her. We continued watching heartland. I changed the disc and put the tv on. We watched a movie that was on.

It was now 9:30. I didn't get the movie we were watching. Meh. Maddy and Jason were enjoying it.

"She's cute." My brother said when there was a brunette with long wavy hair and brown eyes. I hit him in the back of the head.

"In your dreams mate." I said. Maddy giggled.

"Ow." He said. He tried to grab an oreo but I took the packet and got up. "Hey give them back." He said, getting up and chasing me. I ran outside and towards Seth's house. I was laughing like a lunatic while running. "I'll come for a ride with you if you stop." I thought about this. I stopped.

"Alright." I waited for him to catch up, surprised that I was that fast. He caught up and stared at me. "What?" I asked. "Is there a bug in my hair? On my face?!" I shrieked at the last bit. Wiping my hair and face.

"Man you're fast." I stopped my attempt at wiping the skin off my face and rolled my eyes.

"Were you serious about going for a ride?" I asked.

"Yep. I don't want to be stuck with Ty." He said. I laughed.

"Alright come on." I said, leading the way.

We made it there a couple minutes later. I saw Seth's dad and another guy that worked there.

"Hi." I called.

"Hey." They both called back.

"This is my brother Jason." I told them.

"Hi." Jason said.

"Hi." David said.

"I'm taking Storm and Jason is taking Jazabel." I informed David.

"Yeah that's ok." David said. He went back to what he was doing.

"Come on." I grabbed Jason's arm and dragged him into the stable. "Do you know how to tack them up?" I asked.

"Tack them up?" He asked.

"Never mind. I'll tack her up for you Jason."

"Ok."

I walked towards Jazabel's stall. I grabbed the halter and lead and opened the door. I put on the halter and led her out to the wash bay. I tied her up and walked back inside to get Storm. I led him out and tied him near Jazabel. I went back inside with Jason and gave him Jazabel's saddle blanket, saddle and bridle. I grabbed Storm's tack and we walked back out to the horses.

I tacked up Jazabel first and then Storm. We mounted the horses and I led the way to the trail to where I saw the herd.

I stayed at a walk because I knew Jason didn't know how to ride very well. I was the only one in my family that knew how to. Seth and his dad taught me.

We came to the clearing where I saw the herd. They were there, all the mares but not the stallion. I frowned.

"Where is he?" I asked myself.

"You sure you actually saw the stallion?" Jason asked.

"I'm not delusional Jason!"

"Alright then." He said. The horses started getting impatient. They pranced from foot to foot. I gave Storm a pat on his neck and we headed back to the stables.
