Sunday
When it's these 5 talking in dialogue with more than 2 people:
Jisung, Heihyun, Momo, Heijin, Heechul
A single stripe of sunshine was laid across Jisung's eyes, and he had to roll over so he could open them without being blinded. Who he expected to be greeted by was Minho, however instead there was nothing but a solitary note in the tepid dip in the mattress where the older had been asleep.
Slackly the blond reached to pluck the note off, squinting at the inked words on the pink paper.
Jisung's heart swelled as he reread the note, holding it to his chest as if it held the power to bring him to Minho's location. Nothing could make these days more special.
Starting the day on a positive, the blond went to get ready, putting himself back into his outfit from yesterday. Afterwards he went downstairs to prepare breakfast for himself, Heijin and Heihyun, fixing up some toast and jam accompanied with fruit, honey and Greek yogurt. He was just pouring some apple juice into a collection of tall glasses, when Heijin bounced into the room. The black locks of his hair were tufted up, yet his jovial face showed so much energy for him to have just woken up.
"Sungie Sungie, good morning!"
"Morning Jinnie, come sit for breakfast."
"You made breakfast for us!"
"Mhm, dad's at another meeting
so won't be home till later."
"But you're gonna stay with us
for the day, right?"
"Of course! Is Heihyun up?"
The young child nodded, "he's in the bathroom," before rushing to his stool to inspect what was on the plate. A few minutes later Heihyun sloped in, muttering a fleeting "morning.." as he trailed over to his spot. Jisung chuckled and sat down between them, conversing with Heijin while waiting for the brunette to have eaten enough to be awake.
"Did you want to do anything today?" The blond asked. He had a few suggestions already in his mind, but seeing what the kids wanted first was a better first move.
"Hmm, I don't mind." Heihyun mumbled, going right back to spooning yogurt into his mouth.
"Did you have any good plans, Sungie?" Heijin prompted, noring on a piece of mango.
"Well," Jisung started, "I was thinking about treating you guys to a trip to the mall. I'll buy you some clothes and toys if you want."
Heihyun's spoon clanged upon the ceramic bowl of his yogurt, and he stared at the blond with those brilliant coffee irises of his. His brother too reacted similarly, the lump of mango dropping from his mouth as it hung open in surprise.
"What?"
"You'll let us buy anything?"
"Yeah, within reason though."
"But what, what about your saving
up for university?"
"Oh it's okay! I still have ages to
save up, and a little treat for you
two wouldn't hurt."
Eventually the two kids agreed, spamming Jisung with thank yous and displaying their gratification by leaping onto him and giving him hugs. The blond laughed at how enthusiastic they were about the trip, so the moment they finished their breakfast Jisung sent them upstairs to get ready to leave.
"How are we getting there, Jisung?" Heihyun questioned while doing up his fluffy jacket.
"The bus I think," the blond murmured, partly absorbed into checking the bus time tables on his phone, "if that's okay with you two?"
Heijin jumped around on the spot, clearly keen on the idea of taking public transport. Straightening up the brunette nodded in agreement, and with that decision made the group stepped out of the house and began to walk to the nearest bus stop.
No one else was waiting there, and as the bus pulled up it appeared that it was already pretty full. I'll just have to stand with them.. I'll pick them both up. It was a task, but Jisung worked with what he could. Taking the two onto the bus, the blond bought them the tickets before guiding Heijin and Heihyun to a standing space near a pole. Managing to balance the two children under each arm, letting them use his hips for support, Jisung then rested his back onto the bar as the bus started to move.
For the beginning of the journey the family remained quiet, not wanting to disturb those around them. Heijin busied himself in playing with the older's baby hairs, while Heihyun gazed out the windows at the passing scenery. It was when Jisung started to grow tired of holding the kids, when a gentle tap landed on his back.
Shuffling round the teen was met by the kindly face of a young woman, who was seated next to presumably her partner who was fast asleep. "Dear, do you want to take mine and my husband's spot? We can stand."
Instantly Jisung politely declined, insisting he was fine, but he was clearly losing grip on Heijin who suddenly tugged on his hair in an attempt to not fall.
"Nonsense," the lady chirped, "let me just wake up Heechul." Facing her husband she pinched his ear, causing the man to jolt awake.
"What the, Momo what was that for!"
"Get up Heechul, let this boy sit
with his kids."
"You had to wake me up didn't you.."
"Yah get up now you lazy ass!"
"Aight!"
Switching places with the couple, Jisung collapsed into the seat, sliding Heihyun into the spare one next to him while keeping Heijin sat on his lap. "Thank you," he bowed his head gratefully at the lady and man in turn. The woman, Momo, waved her hand as if it were nothing.
"Oh don't worry hun," she looked towards the two kids, "where are you all off to then?"
"We are going to shop at the mall!" Heijin answered, beaming up at Momo. It seemed like he hadn't been affected by a lack of a mother, because to the older woman he was as friendly as ever.
"What are you gonna buy sweetie?"
"Clothes and, maybe a new toy!!"
"What about you, hun?"
"Clothes too I think, and I really
want to get a new book."
"Gosh Heechul aren't they just
the most adorable things!"
"Yes baby, they are."
"He won't give me kids yet," Momo nudged her boyfriend playfully before readdressing Jisung, "but you're very blessed to have them. Is it hard being a single dad?"
Hurriedly the blond went to correct her, "oh no I'm not their-" but he stopped himself. A little lie wouldn't hurt? "I'm not a single dad, but my boyfriend is at work today."
Momo squealed, and ignoring the sheepish look of her boyfriend Heechul, sparked up a conversation about how Jisung came to meet Minho. It was an enjoyable ride, with the kids joining in too, and when it came to say goodbye as they arrived at the mall Jisung was sad to have to part from the couple. Older people being considerate to the teen was a rarity, since every single one of them assumed he was some no good kid. Well, all except Minho.
Being extra careful to keep the boys close by, Jisung took them into the superstore entrance area. People were coming from all directions, going about their day enjoying the variety of shops the mall had to offer.
"So," the blond looked to Heijin and Heihyun in turn, "where did you boys wanna go?"
"Clothes shop!" The charcoal haired boy heaved his body weight into Jisung's arm, pulling him towards a random store to their left. Since it supplied clothing for kids, the blond tagged behind the two kids as they entered the shop. At first the people working there gave off the impression that they weren't all that keen on kids, but after minutes of Heijin and Heihyun being remarkably well behaved there wasn't a bad word to be spoken of them.
Heihyun was the first to pick out a full outfit, and he sensibly requested for a member of staff to show him to the changing rooms. While they waited, Jisung assisted Heijin in pairing clothes for his outfit.
"How about this Jinnie?" The blond unhooked a playful two piece hoodie set from the rack and held it up to Heijin's body. On top was a light beige top with a bright cartoon image covering the front, and under that was a longer sleeved hoodie the colour of sea foam.
"Ooo yes yes," The dark haired boy clapped his hands ecstatically, but he paused, "wait how much is it?" Jisung shrugged his shoulders and checked the label.
"Only 26,500 Won."
"What!! Sungie that's too much!"
"Don't be silly hun, I want
to buy it for you."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive, now come on, let's go find
some matching pants and accessories."
To pair with the hoodie, Heijin found some shorts to match the tan colour of the outer layer, as well as a pistachio hued bucket hat and some funky looking glasses that the younger practically begged Jisung to let him have.
Taking all this to the changing rooms, the two were met with a fully changed Heihyun. "What do you think?" He asked shyly, observing his own fit in the mirror. Dressed in a smart white shirt the brunette had styled it with a red jumper and a plaid set of cream pants that went perfectly with the converse shoes he had on.
"You look amazing Hyun!" Jisung exclaimed, turning the younger's cheeks as red as his sweater. His brother nodded in unison with the blond, and once Heijin had made sure he was 100% about his outfit, the group gathered everything to take to the counter.
"Do you think dad will like our outfits?" The brunette asked as they made their way out of the store dressed in their brand new outfits. Jisung didn't admit it but the purchase had stung his wallet, and he regretted not saving up more efficiently. Hopefully he'll be able to work up just the bare minimum for his first semester?
"I'm sure he will, but don't tell him how
much I spent on them, okay?"
"We won't!"
"Mhm, and don't worry about getting us another thing Jisung, this is enough."
For the remainder of the day the three of them continued with window shopping, and somewhere in his mind Jisung was starting to really feel as though he were Heijin and Heihyun's parent. The fact that the blond was close with the entire Lee family was no secret, yet he was so unsure about how Minho would take to him acting less like a babysitter and more like a second dad.
Heihyun must've possessed some psychic powers, because he mentioned something once they'd left the bookshop that stuck with Jisung.
"Thank you for today Jisung, you
were like another dad."
"What do you mean hun."
"You're caring, soft, and like our dad, so naturally you're like dad number two."
"You think I fit in your family?"
"You're already apart of our family, right?"
