Chapter 10: Chapter 8 | 💦

The Baby Sitter | MinsungWords: 19456

Friday

Minho's mind was barely co-operating as his car sped down the road, running red lights and going well over the driving limit. He could've got into serious trouble if caught,l but that wasn't a concern right now. All he could concentrate on was getting to Jisung and his kids as fast as he could, and if that meant breaking the laws on the road then so be it.

How could he have been so moronic? If he knew Sunhee was back in the town he should've gone and damn found her first to make sure she stayed far away from them. Now he's gone and not only his children are in danger, but also Jisung. His goddamn employee, the only decent babysitter he'd ever hired, the boy he cared about so much despite only knowing the blond for only a week. That week had been the best of Minho's entire life, and now he'd fucked it up. There was no way in hell Jisung would want to work for him now.

Minho got there in about 7 minutes, stopping his car with a screech in the middle of the road. He spotted Sunhee at the living room window, hammering on the glass and screeching like a banshee as she glared into the room. She looked like she was trying to find someone hiding inside.

Getting out the car and slamming the car door shut so that the whole vehicle shook, Minho stormed over to his house. He felt so angry that his ex would even think of trying to get close to Heihyun and Heijin, and it was like he was ablaze with unrestrainable fury directed at her as well as himself.

"Owh! What the fuck!" Sunhee yelped as her arm was grabbed and yanked back, forcing her out from the flower bushes lining the space under the window. Minho threw her hand away in disgust. The brunette wanted nothing more than to just slap her right then and there, but that wouldn't be setting a good example. He already could be on some radar for running those red lights, and he didn't need to be filed for any type assault charge - something that Sunhee would hold against him back when they were still together.

"Get the fuck off my drive," Minho snarled, eyes so razor sharp that they could've cut through Sunhee's bones. She stayed put though, brushing down her skin tight dress with exasperation.

"I'm not leaving until you

let me see them."

"After what you've done? Like hell I'd

let you go anywhere near them. Now leave."

"What gives you the

fucking right, hmm?

"The law does, Sunhee. The fucking law

gives me the right. I'm not letting

you hurt them like you hurt me, and

I'm doing perfectly well on my own."

Sunhee scoffed, flicking her hair away from her face. "What, so the coward in there is just some slu-" A cold burn spread across the girl's right cheek, and it quickly turned hot as it started to sting. She looked back at Minho with widened eyes, not expecting the brunette to hit her. The look on Minho's face clearly showed how he didn't give one, and inside he didn't regret it one bit. He shouldn't have slapped her but in comparasuon to the things she'd done to him, this was mere play fighting.

"Don't you fucking say anything about Jisung. Now get the fuck off my drive before I call the police."

"I'll c-call the police on you for assault!" Sunhee squeaked, her voice raised in pitch due to her pure shock of Minho's action.

"Go ahead. They know our past, see who they fucking believe," Minho retorted, laughing darkly, "doesn't that statement ring a bell?" Sunhee couldn't do anything else at that statement. Wrapping her coat around her chest tightly, she flounced away down the drive, the click-clacking of her heels fading away as she disappeared down the street.

Minho wasted no time standing watching her leave, immediately hurrying to the door and opening it with urgency. Heavy, rasping breathing could be heard coming from the stairs, and the brunette flung the door shut to reveal Jisung. The small blond was cramped into the space between the wall and bottom stair, knees grasped against his chest and he swayed from side to side. His whole huddled figure trembled, every so often tensing up to release a wave of violent sobbing and hiccups that made tears pour over his now dampened jeans.

Minho dropped to his knees, heart crushed at the sight. "Jisung, Jisung look at me," the brunette ordered, voice firm but gentle. Jisung lifted his head up from his knees, breath turning horse as he tried to get oxygen regardless of him now having his face away from his clothes.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.." the blond mumbled over and over again between short, gulping inhales, not seeming to be talking to Minho directly but rather just babbling randomly. Minho went to pull the younger towards him, but instead of letting the brunette comfort him Jisung shoved him back as if he was terrified of any moving thing.

"Don't touch me!" Jisung yelled, voice loud but brittle as if there wasn't much left of it. More tears followed when he realised he'd pushed the older, and slowly he went back to rocking his knees forwards and backwards while repeatedly apologizing.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry

Minho, I'm sorry, I'm-"

"Jisung look at me, keep

your eyes on me okay."

The blond didn't stop talking to himself as he stared into Minho's eyes, but as he listened to the older's voice telling him to focus on his eyes, Jisung's swaying stopped, and his words became more like confused questions.

"Hold my hand, Jisung," Minho urged, stretching out his arm without moving any closer, "but keep looking at me." The younger didn't move at first, but then he extended his arm and gripped Minho's hand tightly. His fingernails dug into the brunette's skin, but Minho ignored it.

"Okay, now follow my breathing Jisung." The older breathed in and out, deeply and slowly, allowing Jisung to copy and do the same. The blond's exhales slowed down and became less broken, and he no longer felt like he was encased underwater. He kept focusing on Minho's deep, hickory brown eyes. It helped him stay on track and make him feel like he was in control, and very soon Jisung stopped shaking and his voice rested.

Seeing that the younger was finally alright, Minho shuffled next to Jisung and pulled the boy into a hug, rubbing his hand flat across his back.

"I should be the one to apologise.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that."

"Minho, the boys they're,

they're upstairs."

"Did they see her?"

"No I, I don't think so, you

should go check on them."

Minho almost didn't want to let Jisung go, but knew that he should also check on his kids. Leaving the bottom of the stairs, the brunette hurried up the steps and to Heihyun and Heijin's room.

Inside, Heihyun had preoccupied his brother by reading his favourite book to him while keeping them under the covers. Neither of them really understood what was going on, or what had gone on, but the older boy was sure it wasn't good. So he made sure to distract Heijin until his dad got back.

There was a knock on the door, and both boys looked at one another. They didn't move, not sure if it was whoever had been outside, or Jisung or Minho. "It's me, babies, it's okay to come out now." Heihyun took Heijin's hand and they got out from under the covers of their bed.

The door opened and Minho's legs were tackled by both his kids, almost pulling him to the ground. "Dad!! Is Sungie alright, is whoever was outside gone?!" Heijin spouted random questions, all coming out too quickly for Minho to respond to.

"Slow down baby. But yes,

Sungie is okay. I think he'd like a

hug from you two though."

"Is he upset?"

"A little, but he should be

better in a bit. He's going to

stay here for a while, okay?"

"Yay!" Heijin squealed, and Heihyun shared a smile. The group headed downstairs, and Minho spotted Jisung still crouched in the corner. He wasn't moving, but had his head rested on the wall and his breathing was regular again. The blond looked up to see Heijin's outstretched arms, and was a little surprised as the dark haired boy wrapped them around his neck. Heihyun did the same, sitting down next to Jisung's legs and hugging them while staring at the older boy.

"Are you okay, Mister Jisung?"

"Yes Hyun, are you two?"

"Mhm, as long as you are."

Minho smiled as his kids comforted Jisung, and he felt a fuzzy feeling of warmth run through his body. Sunhee's appearance at his home reminded the brunette of how hard it was in the beginning to look after the boys alone, especially while he was still recovering from the relationship.

I'm not letting you hurt them like you hurt me, and I'm doing perfectly well on my own.

As much as that was true, Minho had always sort of wanted some extra support from someone. Every other babysitter had never had a good bond with his sons, but Jisung seemed to have made them comfortable around him and excited to see him. Almost like another parent that they never got to have.

~~~
Heijin and Heihyun stayed up for a while with the other two, insisting that they make Jisung happy again before going to bed. At around 8 o'clock, Minho took the two boys up to bed, before coming back down to sit with Jisung on the sofa.
"Oh I didn't even help you clean up, I'm sorry." Minho said suddenly, getting up only seconds after sitting down.
"Oh it's okay," Jisung replied, thinking the older was referring to the dishes in the kitchen from the leftover dinner. Minho disappeared out of the room, and the younger pulled at his sleeves so that he got his sweater paws back.
Soon Minho came back with a damp flannel, some medicine and a glass of water, smiling to himself when he caught sight of the blond's inquisitive pout. "Have you got a headache at all?" Jisung shook his head, but then winced at the throbbing pain surrounding his skull. The older chuckled, "I'll take that as a yes."
Minho popped out two of the tablets from their packet and passed them to Jisung along with the water, letting him gulp them down. He then placed his hand under the younger's chin, before washing the flannel across his soft, tear stained cheeks. Jisung's face heated up despite the cold water supposedly meaning to sooth it, his heart racing with embarrassment as Minho gently washed away his tears.
As much as he felt a little flustered, the blond also enjoyed the attention he was getting from Minho. The older was being so careful with him that it made Jisung feel somewhat adored, even though it was probably just a simple act of kindness.
"I'm sorry that she upset you
so much. I should've checked to
make sure she wouldn't come here."
"Don't blame yourself Minho, I just
get, get stressed in those situations."
"I know but still, she could've.."
Minho paused, flannel rested on Jisung's cheek as the brunette zoned out. "Could've what?"
Something flickered in Minho's eyes as his hand fell back to his knee. A look of pain as past memories came to mind. The older sighed and lent back on the sofa, not looking Jisung in the eye.
"I met Sunhee when I was 19, at a club. She seemed all fun and full of life, so basically the opposite of me. We never intended to have Heihyun, but for me it was the best thing to ever happen. Sunhee didn't want kids though, it wasn't a part of her lifestyle. While I stayed at home and looked after Hyun, she was out with her friends drinking and partying. At that point I ignored it since, I loved her, and then when we were 20 I asked her to get married so we could raise our son."
Minho hesitated, but Jisung waited for him to continue in his own time.
"She, as expected, didn't want to, but I convinced her anyway. After that things seemed to go downhill. I was much more concerned with looking after Heihyun and working towards my job as a doctor, and it was very stressful when she wasn't there to help. Then one night, she came home extremely late. She was drunk out of her mind and didn't seem like she wanted to stop, convincing me to drink as well despite me being worried about her state. That's how we ended up having Heijin. Sunhee blamed me for her pregnancy since, since I was the guy in the situation, but I begged her to let us keep him. Things didn't really change, in fact they sorta got worse. Sunhee became really aggressive towards me, taking whatever was on her mind out on me through.. through violence."
Minho's voice trembled as he spoke, and without thinking Jisung moved so he was closer to him. The younger slipped his arms around him, hugging the brunette who let his head fall onto Jisung's shoulder.
"I ended up filing for a divorce and full custody of my kids, since I didn't want Sunhee to hurt them like she hurt me. It was such a long process though, you don't hear enough about men experiencing domestic abuse from their wives and so the odds seemed to fall in her favour. But eventually I got full custody, and I moved out of our shared apartment and bought this place. I swore to never let her see Heijin or Heihyun ever, or at least until they were old enough to understand how much of a threat she is."
Sniffing, Minho lifted his head to look into Jisung's eyes. They seemed so much prettier up close, and looked as if they were made of all the colours of the rainbow.
"Thanks for being such a good babysitter, Jisung. I didn't think I'd be able to trust another adult around the boys ever again." Jisung smiled gingerly, and he couldn't resist tucking a loose strand of Minho's silky brown hair behind his ear.
"I'm sorry you had to suffer that,
Minho. But it's better now, right?"
"Definitely, especially since I
have you to help look after Heijin
and Heihyun. They almost see
you as a second parent."
Jisung flushed such a bright shade of crimson that he thought his face had caught fire. Minho chuckled and sat up to press the forgotten flannel against the younger's red cheeks.
"You get embarrassed easily, don't you."
"Well y-yes! When you say stuff like that."
"It's kinda cute, y'know."
"Stop, stop it!" Jisung said in alarm, voice turning squeaky and face darkening further. Minho laughed and shook his head, before sitting back to stare at the ceiling in deep thought.
"You know what else is cute?"
"N-No.."
"The name Sungie. Maybe I should
start calling you that too from now on."
Minho smirked as the blond hid his face in his hands. He was so overwhelmingly flustered at the older's not-so-subtle-flirting that he could barely keep himself together.
Jisung mumbled something incoherent since his mouth was pressed against his palm. "Hm?" Minho asked, still smirking as he heard the younger groan in frustration.
"I said," Jisung restated, removing his hands from his face, "only if, only if I can call you MinMin." Minho considered this for a moment, as if it were some critically important philosophy that had to be analysed in depth.
"MinMin.. has a nice ring to it."
"I thought you said you
weren't fun or full of life?"
"I never said that! I think I'm great fun,
plus it sounds like you're agreeing."
Jisung rolled his eyes, as if the brunette had said something stupid, before grabbing the controller for the tv. "What are you doing?" Minho asked, watching as the younger switched on the screen and scrolled to Netflix.
"Putting on a show so I don't have to hear any more of your cocky comments." The older chuckled and moved a little closer to Jisung, so his arm was able to loop around the blond's shoulder.
Jisung pretended not to notice as he found some chill drama to watch, when on the inside he was lowkey freaking out about it. It must've shown in his shifting gaze though, as Minho's smile only grew more confident as he became more relaxed into the evening.
"What do you think of Munyeong?"
"She's pretty I guess,
but I prefer Soohyun."
"You like the Male lead."
"Yeah, he's hella hot. Why?"
"Interesting.."
"What's that supposed
to mean, Minho?!"
"Nothing nothing!"
Jisung squinted at the older incriminatingly, but Minho turned to focus back on the program. Stupid.. hang on.. An idea hit the blond, and now it was his turn to smirk as he side eyed Minho.
"But yeah, he's so good looking, I like taller guys with dark hair and eyes." Minho hummed, looking interested but unbothered, so Jisung continued.
"Older guys too."
"Much older apparently,
Soohyun's 32."
"What?! He looks about 24!"
"So you'd be with someone who was 24?" Minho asked, but all he got from the younger was an effortless shrug.
"If they were handsome and a nice person, then may- SHIT IS THAT THE TIME!?" Jisung stared at the clock on the wall, reading the time as 11:42. He had got so caught up with his time with Minho that the blond had completely lost track of the actual ticking time in the present.
"Ugh I have school tomorrow too.." The boy muttered, making Minho smile warily.
"Let me drop you off, your
house isn't far is it?"
"No no it's okay, you need to stay
and look after Hyun and Jinnie."
"I can wake them up."
"No! They need to sleep!"
"Okay okay, calm down Sungie," Minho made the name roll of his tongue with ease, laughing as Jisung deadpanned, "will you be able to get home okay?" The younger nodded. He was perfectly happy to jog back to his house, in fact it would be nice to run in the still streets at night; it would help calm him down and tire him out.
"Well if you're sure, be careful though," Minho said, not able to hide his regard for the younger's safety. The brunette saw Jisung to the door, watching the small boy step out onto the driveway like he'd done so many times before. Although it was dark, Minho could still see the brilliant colours of Jisung's eyes sparkling in moonlight, and the slight pinkness of his round cheeks that had yet to fade away.
"See you on Monday then, MinMin."
"Bye Sungie, get home safely."
~~~

It was later on that night, or rather early that next morning, and Minho couldn't sleep. He'd tried to clear his mind, but there was still one single thing left on it; Jisung. The brunette couldn't stop picturing his face when he blushed, or his cute attire that made him look so soft, or his beautiful eyes that glittered like diamonds.

"I like taller guys with dark hair and eyes.. older guys too."

Minho hadn't felt like this since his relationship with Sunhee, and even though he liked men too he'd never actually had something with one. It was a completely different sensation, one that was unusual yet exhilarating simultaneously.

"Jesus Christ Jisung,

what are you doing to me?"

~~~
Although he was exhausted from today, and needed a real good rest, Jisung couldn't keep his eyes shut. His thoughts were with Minho, and he found himself recalling the older's fluffy mocha locks, his sweet but flirtatious attitude, the way he'd taken care of Jisung when he didn't know what else to do.
"You get embarrassed easily, don't you. It's kinda cute, y'know."
Jisung has never been in a proper relationship before, but his feelings for Minho were undeniable at this point. They'd grown too strong over the last couple of days to ignore, and even though the blond didn't know what to do with them it was an almost wonderful feeling.
"Jesus Christ Minho,
what are you doing to me?"
