"Your name really is Jupiter though, right? Not Saturn like they all call you?" asked Mike.
"Yeah. Because of my hair," I said.
"I knew you weren't telling the truth earlier!" Dev yelled, jumping up. She clapped a hand over her mouth and quickly sat back down when we all looked at her. "Sorry," she whispered. I chuckled.
"It's okay. It was literally glowing, which is a new thing, by the way," I said.
"Weren't telling the truth about what?" asked Kat. Dev looked up at me.
"You can tell her, I don't care. You're obviously allowed to have opinions and feelings," I said. It was already working, them feeling the need to check with me before doing something.
"I asked how she got her hair so bright. I have worked with a lot of hair dye in my time here and I've never seen anything like that. She told me she bleached it really light and just got it redone," Dev said.
"You're saying that color is natural?" asked Corey.
"Sure is," I replied.
"That's insane," said Jake.
"I mean, it makes sense," Colby said from beside me.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"You're like, the queen of hell. Sorry to be so blunt. But I'm not surprised that you'd have bright red hair like that," he said. The queen? I guess it made sense that Satan would be the king, though...
So Hades was like the overlooking type God of hell and Colby and I were just under him?
"Oh, does... does she know?" asked Sam.
"A certain someone was invisible and hiding in my room for the entire in depth phone conversation I had with Belial and then the conversation you and I had," Colby said to Sam. Sam looked embarrassed for Colby.
"Oh my," Sam said.
"She basically knows everything," Colby said.
"Then what are we waiting for?" asked Mike.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"The Coming of The Octet," Mike said.
"Okay, he said basically everything. Not completely everything," I said.
"That ritual I was talking about. But seriously, Mike? Right now? Already?" asked Colby.
"The sooner we do it, the sooner we can tell Hades we've finally finished the task and introduce Jupiter to him," Brennen said.
"Not to be rude or anything here, but is Hades someone I want to meet? Since he's the big bad dude?" I asked.
"Okay, he can kind of be a dick. But you're like his... how would you describe it?" Jake said.
"Sister, maybe? In human terms? Not really, but sort of. Like you guys have the whole sibling-type vibe and a spiritual connection," Tara said.
"Are spirits and souls different?" I asked. I thought Colby was the one my soul was connected with.
"Yes, they are. Souls are strictly for romantic love. Spirits are for friends and family and stuff," Tara explained. "But the bottom line is that Hades has to like you. Or at least tolerate you. But you're a pretty likeable person, as intimidating as you are."
"Can't he kill me, though?" I asked.
"Yes, he can. And no one else, so don't piss him off. You get the most leniency with him out of literally anyone, so you'd really have to fuck up enough for him to even dream of hurting you," said Sam.
"Wait, are you telling me I've been immortal this whole time?" I asked.
"No. Not until after the ritual," said Dev.
"Which is why I want to do it now. Because if you die before we do, this whole thing is done for. Lilith will go attach on to someone else, but this only works if Lilith is attached to Satan's soulmate," said Mike.
"Can we at least give her day, man? Show her how to Urge and stuff since she doesn't need the ritual to do that?" asked Colby. Again, I knew that Colby and I were in charge of everyone here. We were just choosing to at least try and respect the others.
"Fine. A day. But at least two of you are with her and Colby at all times, got it? We don't know what she can do," Mike said to everyone sitting on the couch. I realized we'd probably have to leave to house to Urge. It didn't work on me, so I was assuming it didn't work on any other demons. "Let's go, man," Mike said. Him and Brennen walked out the hall toward the door.
"Oh god damn it, Leviathan! At least melt them the rest of the way so the doors aren't jammed shut and we can put new ones in!" yelled Mike. Kat rolled her eyes and balled her hands into fists for a second.
"Thank you," Brennen called from up front. We heard them walk out.
"Alright, so guess we're teaching her how to Urge today," Colby said. "Which two of you?"
"We can," Sam said, standing up from the couch, pulling Kat up with him.
"Okay, I'm down," Kat said.
