Nicole POV

Four weeks later:

Its been four solid weeks without talking to the boys. When I mean boys, I mean Alec, Aaron and Jake. Well Jake has been calling but we haven't been out together like we used to do when we met. I was mostly at home studying or watching TV.

And now I associate with the girls more. Kimberly especially. She even came to visit and is currently downstairs talking with Trina. Its Saturday and am at home as usual. Not meeting any guy! I don't want to see those three! Trina's bracelet is still on my wrist. I really love it. I've worn it all week. It means so much to me.

My phone rings and its Alec. I frown. I haven't spoken to him for four weeks. I must admit I miss him but I don't wanna talk to him. He's the one who put me into this shit. But my subconscious mind reminds me that he was the one who saved my life that night. I sigh heavily and pick up.

"What?!" I drawl into the phone lazily whiles checking my nails which were now navy in colour.

"Nikki! I'm so glad you answered my call. I miss you! Your voice, your smile, your dimples...." He says but I cut him off.

"Go straight to the point Alec! Am not in the mood to listen to how much you've missed me" I snap.

He sighs

"I know you're still mad at me but I need you to do something for me" he states nervously

"I'm sorry but if its one of your games, count me out" I spit indifferently.

"No I swear! Its not! Its just that, its kind of related in a way" he spits and am confused.

"Okay! What is it?"

He exhales heavily.

"My mom wants you to join us for a family dinner tonight. She said its a special dinner so you would have to miss Troy's party" Alec states.

I wasn't planning to go to the party tonight but the dinner thing too has got me dumbfounded.

"A dinner? Didn't you tell your mom we are no more together?" I state pissed.

"Errr.....no" he replies sincerely and I huff.

"So are you coming?" He adds hopefully.

"I don't know! I'll think about it" I reply.

"If you would then, look pretty! And be there at eight. Bye" he says and hangs up.

I feel my heart swell. But I needed to think about this. I glance at the time on my phone and its 4:56pm. I have a few hours to go to think about this dinner. A part of me wants to go and another part of me doesn't want me to go.

Its just a dinner Nicole! For only one night! Nothing could possibly go wrong! My subconscious mind reminds.

But its a special dinner as he said! Maybe something could go wrong.

This is so confusing!

I finally decided to go so that I can tell Alec's mom personally that we are over! I get into my closet.

I pull out a burgundy tubular  dress which was knee length, a pair of maroon boots and a simple black clutch.

Okay so I'm wearing these! I sigh. I know its going to be difficult for Alec's mom but she has to understand.

My phone rings distracting me from my thoughts. I look at the caller ID and its Jake.

"Hey" I say in a low tone.

"Wow! Its a long time I heard that melodious voice of yours" he states and I smile.

"What's up Jake?" I ask going straight to the point.

"Errr....I need you to go to my father's house tonight! I'm meeting my step brothers and step mother! You said you wanted to meet them remember?" Jake spits and a lump forms in my throat. Jake and his father are really close now and he even works in his father's company. He's changed his  car for him and now Jake is living a life of luxury. I should be celebrating with him but I needed to attend Alec's dinner.

"I'm so sorry! Something came up" I say sincerely.

"Please Nikki! You need to be there with me! Its just for a few hours" he pleads.

"I wish I could but no. I'm sorry" I reply and hang up.

I sigh heavily and go back to reading my notes. I stop when I realize I've been reading one line like fifty times and its not sticking. My door creaks open and Kimberly enters with  a beam on her face.

"Your sister is just like you" she compliments as she sits  on the bed. That may be true, its just that, I screwed up a lot and my parents literally hate me whiles Trina is the favourite daughter I guess.

"I know, she is my sister" I reply with a small smile and a shrug. Kimberly passes on a few chocolate chip cookies  over to me and I give her a grateful smile.

"Your mom makes the best chocolate chip cookies" Kimberly compliments with her mouth full as she masticates the chip in her mouth.

"I know right" I say taking a bite of my own and staring down at my notes again.

"So where were we?" Kimberly chirps as she flips the pages in my book.

"I think Stoichiometry  or something like that" I reply staring hard at my Chemistry notes. My head has began to ache as I think about all the stuff I'm going to implant in it.

Kimberly chuckles.

"Let's get on it with it then" she states and we begin. An hour later, she left and it was time to for Alec's dinner.

I got dressed in my burgundy tubular dress and maroon boots after taking a quick shower. I did some light make up and curled my jet black hair making it flow freely down to my waist. I glanced at my reflection in the mirror for the last time and took my clutch.

I strode into the hall.

"Where are you going Nicole? All dressed up?" Mom spits.

"I'm going for a dinner! I'll be back soon! I promise" I reply.

"Take care baby" mom says and I nod before walking out of the front door.

I got to Alec's house at exactly fifty minutes past seven. I paid the driver and he drove off. I walked into the house taking deep breaths. This is it! I need to accomplish my objective which is, telling Alec's mom the truth.

I ring the doorbell and the door opens. I was expecting to see Alec or his mom but rather a little boy who would be around maybe nine with brown eyes and dark hair. He was in a simple red tee shirt and black shorts

"Hey! Where is Alec?" I ask sweetly.

"In his room! Who are you?" He says

"I'm his friend! Can you please call him for me?"

"Oh Kay" he drawls with lack of trust in his small voice.

"ALEC!!! YOUR FRIEND IS HERE TO SEE YOUUU!!!" The little boy hollers.

"What is it this time Lucas? I hope you are not pranking me again" I hear Alec holler back and I chuckle. I didn't know he had a brother

"ITS THE TRUTH! COME SEE FOR YOURSELF" the boy hollers back and I hear a loud huff.

Then Alec came out of his room. I could swear his jaw nearly dropped on the floor when he saw me. He also looked good as well in a blue tee shirt and simple grey shorts.

"Nikki! You came" he blurts.

"You see I wasn't pranking you" the boy says and runs away.

"I didn't know you had a little brother like that" I state surprised.

"Yeah! They are two actually! He's Lucas and there's Thomas over there" he says and points to another boy who was a bit older than the one I met. He was sitting at the dining table with his eyes fixated on his tablet. His hair was dark and it was gelled.

"They are really nice"i say and Alec smiles.

" They could be annoying sometimes"Alec states with a small smile.

"You look beautiful" Alec compliments and I smile

"Give me back my tablet Lucas! You have yours!" Thomas yells angrily and chases Lucas into the hall.

"Its my tablet!" Lucas retaliates.

"I'm not in the mood for these  games Lucas! Now give it back!"Thomas states.

" No!" Lucas shouts.

Thomas pounces on Lucas and I gasp. He begins to beat him.

"Hey stop!" Alec says quickly but they don't listen.

"What's going on here?" Alec's mom enters and they freeze on the ground.

"Thomas!!!" His mom scolds.

"Mom! Lucas took my tablet and he doesn't want to give it back" Thomas says quite upset.

His mom sighs.

"Lucas? Why did you take his tablet?" She enquires.

"Its mine mom! He's lying" Lucas defends.

"No its not! Its mine! We all know my own is green" Thomas states.

"Mine is green! Yours is red" Lucas retaliates

"Mine is green Lucas!"

"He's right Lucas! His is green" Alec interjects.

Lucas pouts.

"I just wanted to play with your tablet Thomas but here" he says sadly and hands it to him

"I'll go for mine" He adds and moves to his room.

Alec's mom sighs. Thomas feels bad. He bites his lip.

"You need to learn the concept of sharing darling" his mom says and he looks down at his fingers.

"You know Lucas is the youngest"she adds and Thomas nods. He follows and enters the room Lucas infiltrated into a few moments ago.

" see? They can be troublesome "Alec says with a chuckle.

" so how old are they?"I ask.

"Thomas is twelve and Lucas is nine"

"Oh!" I say.

"Hello Nikki! Am so glad you made it to the family dinner" Alec's mom says out of the blue to me and I smile in response.

"You look gorgeous!" She compliments and I blush.

"Thank you" I say politely.

"You can go and sit! Its almost eight" she says and I notice her clothes. She was wearing a sleek red dress and her brown hair was straight.

"Okay" I finally say and walk with Alec to the table.

We both sit down.

"So did you come because of me? Because you missed me?" Alec taunts and I roll my eyes.

"Of course not! I came to achieve an objective" I snap.

"May I know that objective?" Alec asks with a smirk.

"I'm telling your mom we are over since you don't want to" I whisper and his face falls.

"Nikki! Please don't do that" he states quickly.

"Why not?" I snap and he sighs.

"My mom really likes you! She will be hurt and disappointed in me" he explains. He cares about his mom. That was cute.

"But wasn't that the agreement? That you'll tell her one day that we are over?" I whisper yell at him.

"I know but I don't want to hurt her" Alec whisper yells.

My heart swells. The doorbell rings and it distracts my thoughts.

"Am sure your father is here! Thomas! Lucas! Get here!" Alec's mom hollers and straightens her dress and hair. Then she opens the front door.

"Oh honey! You are in" she says sweetly to the person.

"Yes honey" the person replies in a deep baritone voice and steps into the room. He was a stout old man but he wasn't too old as such. He had dark hair with a few traces of grey hair and brown eyes.

"Hey dad!" Alec says and goes to hug him

"Alec! How are you?"

"I'm fine daddy"

"Dad!" Lucas yells and he and Thomas run towards the man and he chuckles.

"Let's go sit down! I brought someone special for you to meet" the man states.

"Hello sir" I say politely to him

"Hello!" He answers with a small smile.

Everyone sits down. Alec was beside me and his two brothers were sitting beside their mom across us.

"So daddy! Where's this special person?" Thomas drawls.

The man chuckles.

"He is your brother" he states and Alec frowns.

"Another brother?" He deadpans.

Their dad nod eagerly.

"Cool! I can't wait to meet him" Lucas states.

"He's already here! He's my first born" Their dad explains.

"But dad, I thought Alec was the first born" Thomas asks

Alec sighs and his mother is disturbed.

"Errr....honey, your father had him somewhere else" Alec's  mom explains.

"Oh" Thomas says.

"He's actually your step brother" Their dad clarifies.

"Okay so where's he?"  Alec asks. He was dying to meet him.

His dad gets up and walks to the door. He opens it and calls someone over. We all wait expectantly.

After a few minutes, in walks a tall figure with blonde hair and grey eyes. I gasp.
