Nicole POV
After watching the television for like two hours. It grew dark already. The day had gone by really fast. Trina peeps through the window.
"Its getting cold" she says and rubs her arms.
I look at her and a small smile graces my lips.
"Its fifty minutes past seven. Like by now we are on our was to the party" she adds and I shudder but she doesn't notice.
"Yeah! But I think we should go to bed" I quickly say before she tries to convince me to take her to the party.
She nods and we both enter our bedrooms. As soon as I enter, I lock my bedroom door so that no one will come in especially Trina. I don't want her to know I betrayed her and went for the party
I went to my closet and pulled my big old teddy bear out. It was still fluffy and cute. My mom bought it for me on my fifth birthday and since then, I had been sleeping with it but I stopped recently. It was a bit dirty and I sneeze because of the dust.
I hit it and it talks.
"Hello! I'm Boomer! The Teddy bear" the toy says and I laugh. I thought the batteries were dead and it wouldn't talk again. I hit it again
"Pleasure to meet you! What's your name?" It says again and I giggle. I really loved hitting it when I was young. I liked it when it spoke to me and I would usually say my name whenever it asks for it.
I take it and place it in my bed as if I'm the one sleeping so that no one will notice I'm gone.
I get into a black tracksuit and a pair of white sneakers. I remove my braids and my hair flows down to my waist in curls no longer braided.
I grab my comb and dress it a bit. Then I quickly grabbed my purse. There was a little money inside. I smiled.
I open my window. It leads to the backyard. The cold breeze of the evening hits my face.
"Good bye Boomer! Sleep tight!" I say and giggle referring to the teddy bear who was in my bed making it seem I was the one lying in.
I jump out of the window and land safely in the backyard. I tip toe and make sure Trina or my parents do not see me.
My parent's bedroom light was off but for some reason I do not know, Trina's bedroom light was still on. I check and she's staring out of the window! Shit! I bet she's looking at the moon and stars! I stand straight hiding behind a tree spying on her for like an hour before she closes her window and drapes her curtains. Her bedroom light goes off and I rejoice inwardly.
I quickly ran out of the backyard to the front of the house. Then I ran away from my house. I felt so free and at ease! I don't have to hide from Trina and my parents anymore! But I was really late for the party. It was 10:07pm. Am sure Tigress would have arrived already.
I took a cab and gave the driver the address to Troy's club house.
We got there at exactly 10:27pm and I paid the driver before getting out of the car and making my way into the house.
I spot a few girls in bikini walking all over the place and most of the boys were topless. Its a pool party isn't it? What was I expecting to see?
I entered the hall and as usual, the place smells like alcohol.
I walk past all the things going on there and make it to our meeting area.
"Nikki!" Troy says surprised when he sees me.
"Hey!" I say breathless.
"I knew you would come! But what got you to change your mind?" He asks.
I sit in the couch and the others stare at me.
"Oh Nikki! You look like you just ran a marathon? And you're in tracksuit?" Kimberly blurts.
"Yeah" Danny agrees.
Aaron is quiet.
"I had to escape from Trina. I lied about not coming Troy! And as for the marathon! I did have one" I reply
Kimberly smirks and Troy chuckles.
"Here! Have some wine to cool your heart" Troy says and gives me a glass of red wine.
I take a sip and ask the question that kept pressing my mind.
"Where's Tigress?" I ask everyone in general.
"She's not in yet! She said she will be here by midnight! We are all waiting" Danny says.
I sigh.
"I don't think Jake will make it! I invited him too" Troy says and I spit the wine I just sipped back into the glass. I'm glad no one noticed
"You what?!" Aaron blurts.
"Who's Jake?" I ask hoping its not the Jake I know.
"Come on Aaron! Everyone in the school is invited to my party!" Troy explains and Aaron relaxes.
"And Nikki! Jake is the newbie I was talking about the last time" Troy explains and my heart pounds against my ribcage.
I put the glass of wine down. Shock was travelling through my veins right now!
"I'll check in the window to see if he's arrived" Troy suggests and walks to the window.
"So is he coming here? To our meeting area?" I squeak still shocked and afraid of the answer Troy will give.
"Well maybe! If he wants to follow me! Its based on his decision" Troy spits and it doesn't do anything to calm my pounding heart.
"Dude! He can't come to our meeting area! Its sacred! And worse of all, Tigress is coming and she'll be having a meeting with us" Aaron fires at Troy.
"Aaron is right Troy" Danny follows
"Okay! I won't bring him here" Troy says and my heart heals.
"But why are you guys behaving so nervous " Troy says amused.
"I'm not nervous" Kimberly clarifies and takes a sip of her wine.
"He's just a newbie and you guys are behaving as if he's a serial killer! Especially you Aaron! You were the first person to introduce him to Danny and I! What's your problem?" Troy spits in their faces and Kimberly laughs.
"I don't have a problem with him! My problem is he doesn't come to our meeting area! The meeting area is for the four of us alone" Aaron drawls.
"We are actually five Aaron! Plus Tigress makes six" Kimberly corrects.
"Thanks Kim" he says and turns to Troy.
"Okay I hear ya! He wouldn't come here I promise! I'll just distract him with some drinks and a few girls" Troy promises and Aaron heaves a sigh of relief.
He hugs Troy.
"That's why I love you" Aaron says tapping his back and Danny too does the same before leaving him at the window.
"Won't you do the same Nikki?" Troy asks faking hurt.
I chuckle and go and embrace him.
"Oh Troy!" I say and rub his back.
We break apart.
"What about me?" Kimberly asks
"I don't need your hugs" Troy spits and Kimberly frowns.
"Forget I even asked" she says with a shrug and Troy laughs.
He looks out of the window again. I see Jake's Range Rover park in the parking lot of the club house. Oh my God! Its him! The one I know! He attends my school?
"He's here!" Troy announces.
"The serial killer" he adds and coughs dramatically.
I cant help but laugh at his antics and rude comment about Jake. The others laugh along.
Laughing made my nervousness disappear a bit but it returns again. I see Jake get down from his car. He was wearing his brown leather jacket over a white t shirt and a pair of black jeans. His hair looked messy but the haircut still looked good on him. He searches around for Troy.
Troy notices this.
"I better go meet him" Troy says and ran.
I just look at him through the window. He looks broken
"So I was thinking, " Kimberly interrupts my thoughts.
"Nikki! Is this the same Jake you met at the mall? Cos Trina said he's a blond and this one too is one" Kimberly says amused.
My heart skips a beat. Danny and Aaron are looking at me expectantly.
I laugh nervously. Should I tell them the truth or lie? And if I lie what if I get exposed! I decide to tell the truth.
"Yes its him" I say and Aaron's jaw clenches. Danny and Kimberly were surprised and looked at me wide eyed.
"Oh okay" Kimberly blurts amused.
"He's a nice guy" she adds.
"Yeah! He's cool" Danny agrees. Aaron remains quiet and keeps his eyes fixated on his phone.
"Won't you say anything Aaron?" Danny asks surprised by his cold nature.
"Oh yeah! He's a good guy" Aaron says but I know he just said it for saying sake!
"He's so cute and handsome" Kimberly gushes.
I giggle. "Yeah"
I look out of the window and Tigress's orange sports car parks. She gets down and I am shocked with what she's wearing.
"Tigress is here!" I announce and Kimberly, Danny and Aaron dashed to the window.
"What's she wearing?" Aaron says disgusted.
"A bikini?" Kimberly gushes.
"With high heels! That's hot" Danny adds.
She walks confidently into the house. I don't think she feels shy wearing that bikini!
"She's gone completely insane" Aaron blurts.
"What was she thinking wearing that bikini?" Danny adds.
"Well its a pool party guys! Don't blame her" Kimberly clarifies.
"So what?" Aaron yells.
"Kimberly is right Aaron! Its a pool party! Other girls are wearing the same outfit! Perhaps Troy called her and told her" I explain.
Aaron stays quiet.
"I think you are right"he says and relaxes.
Suddenly, we hear cheers downstairs. We all get out of our meeting area onto the staircase.
" hey guys! I'm back! Kate distracted Jake for me so he's not coming to this place"Troy spits
Kate and Jake? What? Are they friends now? I suppose she's flirting with him.
"Tigress is in" Troy says.
"We know!" We all say at the same time to Troy and his eyes grow wide.
We laugh at our simultaneous outburst and apologise to Troy for being so rude.
Troy laughs it off and comes to stand on the stairs to watch the scene that was going on.
Tigress had climbed onto the stage and was singing in the microphone with her yellow bikini and heels. She was wearing her shades and yellow high heels. We all watched as she moved her body.
"I never knew she could dance like that" Danny says and we all shush him.
"Say T" Tigress says into the microphone
The crowd echoes it back.
"Say I" she announces again and the crowd responds with the same enthusiasm.
"Say G" she says again and they respond. She was spelling her own nickname!
"Say R" she announces and they respond.
I spot Kate drooling all over Jake and I get furious! She's such a pest! Jake looks normal and looks like he's finding it difficult to persuade her or something. Kate on the other hand looks drank and she's changed her hair color to purple! How many times dies she dye her hair!
"Say S" Tigress announces the final 's' and the crowd cheers. Then she bends down a bit with her ass facing the crowd and she sways her hips.
"Oh...." I blurt
"My...." Troy spits
"Gosh....." Kimberly adds.
Aaron and Danny are too stunned to speak.
My eyes dart to Kate and Jake. Kate continues to argue until she passes out and Jake catches her.
"This girl is gone nuts! I'm going back to our meeting area" Aaron spits and leaves.
"I can't look any more" Danny adds and leaves.
As for me, my attention wasn't on Tigress! It was on Jake and Miss purple hair.
Jake carries her bridal style and leads her outside.
I was curious to know where he was sending her to so I went through the crowds and got outside but hide behind a Toyota Camry.
I watch as he puts her into the passenger seat of his car and places a seat belt around her.
He then comes to sit in the driver's seat and drives off into the road.
I couldn't believe what I just saw. But my instincts tell me he's going to take advantage of her because she's drunk! But my other mind tells me he's helping her in a way! Maybe he's taking her to his house so that no guy would take advantage of her in this state. I just huff and go back into the hall. The teenagers are cheering so loudly that I know Tigress is done with her performance.
"Thank you" she says into the microphone and hands it to the DJ. The she walked off the stage. Troy and Kimberly were still on the stairs looking at Tigress with their jaws almost hitting the floor. I chuckle at the way they look together with their mouths open
I see Tigress talking to a few people who were taking pictures of her. Others were pleading for her autograph. Its like she has turned into some celebrity.
"Hey guys! Close your mouths" I say and push their jaws upwards.
"You wouldn't believe what we saw!" Troy states.
I roll my eyes at them. They always love to exaggerate.
"Let's go back to our meeting area" I say and drag both of them upstairs.
We enter the small room and Aaron and Danny are busy playing chess.
"Hey! Who gave you the permission to take my chessboard" Troy spits to my surprise. They look surprised as well.
"Cool down man! We just wanted to play" Danny says.
"I got you!" Troy says and laughs. Oh Troy! He makes a joke out of everything. We all sit down. Aaron and Danny put the chessboard away. I finger combed my hair making sure it was fine! Tigress will be here soon.
