I get up early, today is my first day of office and I don't want to be late. I called mom dad. Uncle James also send all the best message to me. I got ready and eat some breakfast.
I prepare some Indian style breakfast and decided to take lunch at canteen of office.
I excited to meet new friends. I have decided to wear some western office wear I don't want to look unprofessional on first day. I don't like to wear short skirts so I choose pants.
My hairs are open and I wear very light makeup means only lipstick.
I took cab and arrived at entrance of JAX Constructions main building. I entered and approaches the receptionist of floor. She is wearing bold red dress with red lipstick. I thought it looks little inappropriate for job but it is her choice. She is also wearing name tag of laxi black. With small smile i approached her.
" Good morning, miss black." She smiled at me.
"Good morning, how can I help you?"
" I am Pavi Raj, here is my job confirmation letter, can you tell me where I have to report? " I asked
" Are you new Environmental Engineer by chance?" She asked curiously.
" Yaa, I am."
" Ohh, great I was waiting for you. Your lab is almost ready, and you have to report at 18th floor to Mr. Wilson."
" Thanks, Miss black." I said.
" Ohh, come on. Your are going to work here with me , call me laxi."
She said.
" Sure laxi, then you will call me Pavi. I would like to have new friend here." She is nice.
" Thanks God, you have send someone nice girl here. I would like to have friend like you here, Pavi." She said with little relief.
" What's wrong? " I asked her.
" Actually, most girls are little bitchy. They are here to get attention from CEO and co CEO not for work. I am finally happy to have sweet girl like you. Would you like to have lunch with me?" She asked.
" Sure, for now I have go, bye Lexi." I said and started to walk towards elevator.
As I was walking towards elevator I saw lots of women are wearing short skirts. I ignored and saw Xandar their with someone and called him.
" Hey, american monkey what are you doing here?" I asked to Xandar. He is also surprised but with big smile he come towards me.
" Indian monkey, what you are doing here?" He reported question. We laughed little.
" I work here , princess." He said with bright smile.
" Me too, which department?" His eyes widened with confusion.
" You work here. " He asked as I can not be .
" I showed him letter." He looked the letter.
" Which department Xandar?" I asked him again. But he was looking at letter unbelievably.
" Management mam," the man standing near him said. Then I get that I have attracted lot of attention. He was looking at me shockingly and remaining people nearly 3-4 looking at me amusingly.
"Come with me Pavi " Xandar said and nearly drag me in elevator.
" What's wrong Xander?" I asked.
He turned towards the man and said.
" Gabe, meet Pavi Raj. This is my sister." He said. He forwarded hand to shook and I accepted.
" Pleasure, meeting you Gabe. ."
"Pleasure is mine mam." He said with little node.
" Call me Pavi, not mam."
" I can't mam. You are sister of co-CEO." He said politely.
" You are co CEO Xandar?" I asked shockingly. Xandar turned towards gabe.
" Handle the situation Gabe, I don't want Pavi to face any problem because she called me in front of everyone." And he nodded.
" yes and You are new Environmental Engineer right." Xandar asked.
"Yaa, wow isn't it and sorry for calling you monkey in front of everyone." I said with embarrassment . With that I pushed bottom of elevator. He noticed I have pushed 18 th floor.
" Don't worry about that.Are you going to report ?" He asked smiling at me.
" Yaa, to Mr. Wilson." I said.
" I will come with you, it will be fun." He said with mischievous tone.
" Why? Want to scare poor Mr. Wilson." I said.
" Hey, he is not poor at all." We reached at my floor and we got out of elevator. We started to walk towards office.
I approached assistant seating there but Xandar pulled me towards door. Assistant was looking at me questionning look and Gabe stopped at door with her. Xander turned towards me.
" Pavi, enter." I looked at him with confusion and knocked the door and opened it.
" Mr. Wilson, I am ..." I stopped speaking when I saw Alex seating in chair looking at me surprisingly.
" Pavi, what are you doing here?"
" Reporting, sir" I said him sir because I am there to officially report as his new employee.
"hu?" He said with open mouth and we heard loud laughter of Xandar. We turned towards him.
" Alex, she is going to work with us. She is new Environmental Engineer." He said. I have noticed the name plate on door. He is also co CEO.
" You too, co CEO" I said in low tone. Alex get composed of suitation.
" You don't have to call me sir, Pavi ,you are like my sister."
"But you two are my bosses here. It will look inappropriate in front of employees." I tried to explain them.
" Ok, if there is no one then and then you can call us as sir otherwise strictly no." He said. I gave him letter and he signed and kept it in his drower.
" I will send copy to you later." He said.
" I have an question, how I got selected without interview?" I was thinking about it a lot lately.
" Actually, you were the most educated applicant also your research topic is close to our project."
" Oh, That's mean I am working on project and his all Environmental problems cool." I liked the concept.
" Yaa, you are working independently, you just have to report to CEO and sometimes board members only if you want your team then we can hire some people to help you." He said.
" No, need. This is only one project and solving Environmental law problem is not too difficult, I can handle. If I need help, I will tell you."
I said.
" Please , we don't want to over work you, you are also doing your thesis." He said.
" No problem Alex, I have read project introdution on public website, my thesis is almost based on project." I convinced him to not hire other employees.
" Ok, if you say so. Your lab is going to prepare untile tomorrow. My assistant will hand over some documents required for your work.
Your office is in lab which is at 10th floor." He said with smile.
" Ok, I will go now, I won't disturb you guys anymore." I was about to turn. Xandar stoped me.
" Never say that again. You understood. If you need anything just call one of us." With that he took my phone and made me unlock. He saved three contact numbers his Alex and Jason.
" Thanks bro." With that I left cabin and started waking towards elevator. I saw same girl chatting with Gabe. I smiled and nodded at both of them. They smiled back with bow.
I reached at my lab and get comfortable with it. I have already arranged desk. Same girl entered, I remember she is assistant of alex.
"Mam, here is some files given by Mr Wilson." She said with polite tone.
" Please, don't call me mam. I am Pavi Raj."
"I am blue." She said
" Nice to meet you blue."
" Me too. Mr Wilson also told me to tell that you have an meeting with some board members regarding project at 3pm. You just have to explain them out of option which method is useful for which problem now. Just an introductory presentation." She explained and left.
She wasn't too friendly but too cold. I can work with that. I stated reading the files and making notes simultaneously. I have lots of time for my first assignment. After lunch I will prepare presentation for meeting. First I will try to understand problems in project make possible list of solution.
At lunch time Xandar called me and asked about my lunch. I told him that I had already taken my lunch with laxi. I never had big brother so I liked that feeling having big brother who keep watch on his sister and ask about her were outs etc.
After lunch time I prepared presentation for meeting. Take my all notes. Prepared photocopy of typed notes for giving board members. During lunch Lexi told me that where is conference hall. I decided to reach their 20 min early.
When I reached there as expected no one was there. I started projector and uploaded my presentation. Rechecked all things. After sometime one men entered.
" Good afternoon, miss." He greeted with gentle smile.
" good afternoon, I am Pavi Raj. New Environmental Engineer." I introduced myself.
" I am Will Richards. Assistant to CEO. I came to arrange hall, but you have done almost everything." He said with smile. We chatted with arranging hall. He kept water bottles and notes at every chair.
Some people are started approaching hall. I greeted everyone. When almost everyone came, expect CEO. I told will to switch off the lights and start projector so I can check if there is any problem or not.
I started my presentation. I introduced myself to everyone. I started my presentation. First I told the problems in project which stops government authority to approve it. Then I started with possible solutions available for project and which is best for project management.
I had given many presentation and spoken in front of people due to educational purposes, so I can take my stand confidently and it is easy to speak about my ideas. Everyone clapped for me.
Some members asked questions about treatment methods and I answered successfully. Out of blue one member asked questions about budget.
" Miss, do you know that the method are you talking about is going to be the most expensive method for executing." He asked arrogantly. There was dark in room so I can only see slight glimpse of him. He is in his 40s.
" I am apsulatly sure that this method is going to be cheaper than any other method ,sir." I try to convince him.
" Girl, you are newbie. You don't have any experience. This method is patented. We can't use it with out getting permission from patent holder and for that we have to spend milineans. Do you get that?" He told me in little loud and arrogant tone.
" Sir, I am patent holder of this technology. It's my graduation project, sir." I said politely as possible as. He is getting on my nerves, but he is elder don't have an option.
As soon as I completed my sentence room get silent. One man asked me I thought it's voice is familiar.
"You are not going to charge anything from company?" I have heard this voice a lot but i don't get it, and he was seating near head of table.
" No, sir. If you want I am ready to sign on bond aggrement." I said confidently.
" No, need. Meeting is adjourned." Someone said I froze at place. I recognize this voice. Suddenly light turned on I saw Jason. I heard his voice. With Jason there also was Alex and Xandar. Alex asked me question earlier. Everyone left the room and I am here just staring at Jason. Xandar signaled Alex and they also left the room. They drag will with them and closed the door.
For some moment we just stared at each other. Jason, my Jason is ceo of Jax constructions. Did I say my god I mean our. He also didn't say anything just looking at me with lot of compassion in his eyes.
" You didn't tell me that you are CEO where I am going to work." I asked him.
" If I were told you, I am going to be your boss then have you laughed with me? Have you treated me as your friend? Have you told me what you like? And asked me what I like? Maybe not right?" He asked, with looking directly in my eyes. His eyes pleading me not creat distance between us. Not to push him.
"Maybe you are right. But now it doesn't matter anymore. I am still your friend, Jason." When he heard calling me as Jason a billion dollar smile formed on his face. Looking at it automatically I smiled. He has beautiful smile. He approached me and stopped just few feet away.
" You were amazing while answering everyone's questions." He said.
" Thank you." I said in little voice. I don't know why whenever he complemented me my cheek turns pink. He chuckled looking my pink cheeks.
"But, in front of other employees I will mention you as Mr Knight. Ok" I continued.
" As you wish, dear." When he called me dear, my hearts beats are able hear in my ear. I liked the feeling that I am dear to Jason.
" why you are not going to charge any money, you must have worked hard for you idea?" He asked me.
" It's my dream,Jason to watch my technology to use in project and I want to work on it personally. It won't right to decide the cost of my dream." I said.
" This project is my dream. We are going to complete our dream with each other." He with gentle smile and lots of emotion.
" How was your first day?" He asked.
"You can say full of surprises. First I found out that Alex and Xandar are co CEO and then you as CEO. " He just laughed at my reply.
" By the way thanks for lab, I liked it very much." I thanked him.
" It's alright, anything for you." I felt warm in my chest after hearing his words.
" When are you going to collect samples from site?" He asked.
" Maybe in two days, board members haven't replied about my presentation. Why you refused to sign a bond with me? Board members won't be happy." I asked him curiously.
" I don't care about their happiness Pavi." I never felt like this even his small words flatters my heart. I can't stop smiling.
" Come, working hours are ended already. I will drop you." He said looking at me . I nodded gathering all materials from table.
Jason opened door for us and we walked out. I turned towards elevator but Jason pulled me left side by hand and pushed button of golden elevator. I was just looking at him. What he is actually doing.
" This is an private elevator. only Alex, Xander and me have access to it. From now onwards you too." With that he entered elevator. He is still holding my hand in his.
" Jason, there is no need seriously." I told him.
" Have I asked you? (I shake my head in no) then?" I don't know how to reply such question. He pressed some buttons and then pressed my thumb on scanner. When door almost open he left my hand and we walked towards parking.
We talked a lot during ride. I said thank you then he left.
I am excited to work with Jason. I can't wait until next day of work.
