Benjamin recalled Olivia’s earlier comment about the police showing up.

“How did you know they’d come?”

Olivia looked at him. He still didn’t understand.

“I found a little something in your car earlier.”

“What?” Benjamin froze.

When he connected the mention of contraband to what the police had just said, a sinking feeling overtook him.

Lucas was even more alarmed. “Oh my God! Why didn’t you tell us sooner? Where is it? Get rid of it now!”

“You should really get your brain checked. The police are already here. Are you planning to confess or incriminate yourself?”
