We are two candles

lit and tied

to the same string.

Our flames were so

bright

the darkness

succumbed,

and all was mesmerized.

The flames soon

melted us

and ran its fingers

to the string.

The string that held us

remained strong

despite its half

has turned into ash.

And our wax began

to fail us.

No, I will never yield.

Even if the world is against us,

I will still hold the string.

Until our wax cannot provide

fuel anymore,

and our flames

give their last light.
