After a concerning third period last Saturday, the St. Lawrence Saints head to Schenectady, New York to play the defending national champion Union College at historic and legendary Messa Rink. With 10:42 left in the first period, Brian Ward scored his eighth goal of the season, on the power play to make it 1-0 St. Lawrence. With 10:21 left in the first period, Matt Purmal scored his fourth goal of the season to make it 2-0 Saints. Kyle Hayton and Colin Stevens matched zeros for the remainder of the period so the visitors from Canton lead 2-0 heading to the second period. Hayton and Stevens matched zeros in the second period so 2-0 Saints we stand heading to the third period. With 14:05 left in the third period, Daniel Ciampini scored to make it 2-1 Larrys. With 12:29 left in the third period, Mike Vecchione scored to tie the game 2-2. With 6:49 left in the third period, Max Novak scored to make it 3-2 St. Lawrence. Colin Stevens finished off the Saints and Union wins 3-2. St. Lawrence dropped to 18-12-3 on the season and 13-7-1 in ECAC Hockey play.
