After Kyle Hayton continues to impress, the St. Lawrence Saints return to Appleton Arena to play the defending national champions, the Union Dutchmen on Saturday night in Canton. With 6:47 left in the first period, Tommy Thompson scored his sixth goal of the season to make it 1-0 St. Lawrence. Kyle Hayton and Colin Stevens matched zeros for the remainder of the period so the Saints lead 1-0 heading to the second period. With 19:17 left in the second period, Joe Sullivan scored his fourth goal of the season to make it 2-0 SLU. With 18:10 left in the second period, Alexander Dahl scored his fourth goal of the season to make it 3-0 Skating Saints. Union Coach Rick Bennett pulled Colin Stevens out of the net and so Alex Sakellaropoulos filled in for the remainder of the game. With 14:20 left in the second period, Tommy Thompson scored his seventh goal of the season, short handed to make it 4-0 St. Lawrence. With 8:56 left in the second period, Sean McGovern scored his sixth goal of the season to make it 5-0 Saints. With 2:18 left in the second period, Nolan Gluchowski scored his fourth goal of the season to make it 6-0 SLU. Hayton and Sakellaropoulos matched zeros for the remainder of the period so St. Lawrence leads emphatically 6-0 after two periods. With 10:10 left in the third period, Ryan Lough scored his third goal of the season to make it 7-0 Skating Saints. With 61 seconds left in the third period, Ryan Scarfo scored to make it 7-1 SLU. Kyle Hayton finished off the Dutchmen and St. Lawrence beats the snot out of Union 7-1! St. Lawrence improved to 16-10-2 and 12-4-0 in ECAC Hockey play!
