After a disappointing loss to begin the 2014-15 season, the St. Lawrence Saints head to Niagara, New York to play the Niagara Purple Eagles on Saturday night at Dwyer Arena. With 1:36 left in the first period, Patrick Doherty scored his first goal of the season to make it 1-0 St. Lawrence. Kyle Hayton and Adrian Ignagni matched zeros for the remainder of the period so the Saints lead 1-0 heading to the second period. With 18:41 left in the second period, Ben Masella scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-0 SLU. With 14:45 left in the second period, Gavin Bayreuther scored his first goal of the season to make it 3-0 Skating Saints. With 14:20 left in the second period, Philip Nasca scored to make it 3-1 St. Lawrence. With 6:16 left in the second period, Derian Plouffe scored to make it 3-2 Saints. With 5:45 left in the second period, Mike Marnell scored his second goal of the season to make it 4-2 St. Lawrence. With 2:19 left in the second period, Gavin Bayreuther scored his second goal of the season, his second goal of the game to make it 5-2 Saints. With 1:29 left in the second period, Woody Hudson scored his first goal of the season to make it 6-2 St. Lawrence. Niagara Coach Dave Burkholder pulled Adrian Ignagni from the net and so, Chris Paulin filled in for the rest of the game. Hayton and Paulin matched zeros for the remainder of the period so SLU leads 6-2 heading to the third period. With 15:02 left in the third period, Nolan Gluchowski scored his first goal of the season, on the power play to make it 7-2 Saints. With 9:26 left in the third period, Ben Masella scored his second goal of the season to make it 8-2 SLU. With 8:41 left in the third period, Chris Martin scored his first goal of the season, on the power play to make it 9-2 Skating Saints. With 4:48 left in the third period, Alex Hagen scored his first goal of the season, on the power play to make it 10-2 St. Lawrence! Kyle Hayton makes 23 saves on 25 Niagara shots and St. Lawrence wins emphatically and supremely 10-2! St. Lawrence improved to 1-1-0 on the season!
