After nearly collapsing last night, the St. Lawrence Saints head to Allston, Massachusetts to play the number four nationally ranked Harvard Crimson as St. Lawrence hopes for a top five upset. With 12:58 left in the first period, Gunnar Hughes scored his eighth goal of the season to make it 1-0 St. Lawrence. With 6:31 left in the first period, Gavin Bayreuther scored his fifth goal of the season, on the power play to make it 2-0 Saints. With 5:11 left in the first period, Patrick Doherty scored his sixth goal of the season to make it 3-0 Skating Saints. Harvard Coach Ted Donato pulled Steve Michalek out of the net and so, Merrick Madsen filled in for the rest of the game. Kyle Hayton and Madsen matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 3-0 Larrys lead heading to the second period. With 10:56 left in the second period, Jimmy Vesey scored to make it 3-1 St. Lawrence. Hayton and Madsen matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 3-1 SLU it remains heading to the third period. With 18:04 left in the third period, Brian Ward scored his seventh goal of the season, on the power play to make it 4-1 Saints. With 10 minutes left in the third period, Alexander Dahl scored his second goal of the season to make it 5-1 SLU! Kyle Hayton finished off the Crimson and St. Lawrence upsets Harvard 5-1! St. Lawrence improved to 11-10-2 on the season and 7-4-0 in ECAC Hockey play!
