After a majestic showing by Kyle Hayton last night, the St. Lawrence Saints return to Appleton Arena to play the number fourteen nationally ranked Quinnipiac University Bobcats on home ice tonight. With 8:54 left in the first period, Tanner MacMaster scored to make it 1-0 Quinnipiac. Kyle Hayton and Michael Garteig matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 1-0 in favor of Coach Pecknold's Bobcats heading to the second period. With 18:02 left in the second period, Patrick Doherty scored his fifth goal of the season to tie the game 1-1. With 3:59 left in the second period, Matt Purmal scored his second goal of the season to make it 2-1 St. Lawrence. Hayton and Gartieg matched zeros for the remainder of the period so St. Lawrence maintains their narrow 2-1 lead heading to a crucial third period. With 9:59 left in the third period, Sam Anas scored to tie the game 2-2. Hayton and Gartieg matched zeros for the remainder of regulation so we'll play extra hockey tonight because of a 2-2 tie between St. Lawrence and Quinnipiac. With 2:18 left in overtime, Sam Anas scored to win the game for the Quinnipiac Bobcats 3-2. St. Lawrence dropped to 8-5-1 on the season and 4-2-0 in ECAC Hockey play.
