Chapter 12: 6-3-1: #6 Colgate Raiders (2-0-0 ECAC Hockey)

At Starr Rink tonight, two of ECAC Hockey's best goaltenders Charlie Finn (Colgate) and Kyle Hayton (St. Lawrence) meet for the first time as their two schools play inside these hallowed walls this evening. With 18:50 left in the first period, Andrew Black scored to make it 1-0 Colgate. With 8:49 left in the first period, Ryan Johnston scored to make it 2-0 Raiders. Charlie Finn and Kyle Hayton matched zeros for the remainder of the period so Colgate, with Charlie Finn playing out of his mind, lead 2-0 heading to the second period. With 18:42 left in the second period, Eric Sweetman scored his second goal of the season to make it 2-1 Raiders. With 3:14 left in the second period, Sean McGovern scored his fourth goal of the season, short handed to tie the game 2-2. With 60 seconds left in the second period, Jake Kulevich scored to make it 3-2 Colgate. The two masterminded goaltenders matched zeros for the remainder of the period so Colgate leads 3-2 heading to the third period. With 6:20 left in the third period, Tyson Spink scored to make it 4-2 Raiders. With 1:47 left in the third period, Kyle Baun scored to make it 5-2 Colgate. Charlie Finn settled in the rest of the way and Colgate was too much for St. Lawrence losses by a score of 5-2. St. Lawrence dropped to 6-4-1 on the season and 2-1-0 in ECAC Hockey play.
