Chapter 11: 5-3-1: Yale Bulldogs (1-0-0 ECAC Hockey)

After pulling away in the third period last night, the St. Lawrence Saints head to New Haven, Connecticut to play the Yale University Bulldogs on Saturday night in the belly of the whale. With 18:09 left in the first period, Patrick Doherty scored his third goal of the season, on the power play to make it 1-0 St. Lawrence. With 11:04 left in the first period, Gunnar Hughes scored his third goal of the season to make it 2-0 Saints. With 3:56 left in the first period, Tommy Thompson scored his third goal of the season to make it 3-0 SLU. Kyle Hayton and Alex Lyon matched zeros for the remainder of the period so St. Lawrence leads 3-0 heading to the second period. Yale Coach Keith Allain pulled Alex Lyon out of the net and so, Patrick Spano fills in for the remainder of the game. Hayton and Spano matched zeros in the second period so St. Lawrence maintains their 3-0 lead heading to the third period. With 1:30 left in the third period, Sean McGovern scored his third goal of the season to make it 4-0 Skating Saints! Kyle Hayton finished off the 32 save shutout and St. Lawrence wins 4-0! St. Lawrence improved to 6-3-1 on the season and 2-0-0 in ECAC Hockey play!
