Chapter 10: 4-3-1: Brown Bears (0-0-0 ECAC Hockey)

After Kyle Hayton played well last Saturday, the St. Lawrence Saints head to Providence, Rhode Island to play the Brown University Bears to begin the road to the Whitelaw Cup. With 10:32 left in the first period, Sean McGovern scored his first goal of the season to make it 1-0 St. Lawrence. With 8:02 left in the first period, Ryan Lough scored his second goal of the season to make it 2-0 Saints. Kyle Hayton and Tyler Steel matched zeros for the remainder of the period so St. Lawrence leads 2-0 heading to the second period. With 12:38 left in the second period, Massimo Lamacchia scored to make it 2-1 Skating Saints. With 7:12 left in the second period, Davey Middleton scored to tie the game 2-2. Hayton and Steel matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 2-2 remains our score heading to the second intermission. With 14:14 left in the third period, Tommy Thompson scored his second goal of the season to make it 3-2 Saints. With 7:31 left in the third period, Joe Sullivan scored his first goal of the season to make it 4-2 St. Lawrence. With 3:16 left in the third period, Sean McGovern scored his second goal of the season to make it 5-2 SLU! Kyle Hayton finished off the Bears and St. Lawrence wins 5-2! St. Lawrence improved to 5-3-1 on the season and 1-0-0 in ECAC Hockey play!
