MATT POV
Walking up the stairs I can't help but feel a tinge of disappointment. I was hoping Rachel would somehow (I don't how) run into me today.
Opening the door I stepped in to find my roommate Josh on his computer. Without even looking up at me he said "Wow you just met her yesterday and you're already getting gifts."
"Gifts?" I asked.
"Yeah you're little secret admirer came by today and dropped off a box. Cute girl, very short but very cute."
I ignored the last sentence and walked over to where he pointed. Lying on the bed there was a box with a red bow on top. What the in the world I thought. I opened the box and picked up the note.
"Hi Matthew, you probably won't be expecting this. I guess you could say I'm unpredictable seeing what happened in the last 36 hours. Anyways I'm really sorry about what happened and the coffee shop the other day and I can't guarantee it won't happen again so here's a little something from me to you. It's not much but if it makes you feel better I put extra love in it. Oh, and I did tell you that I'd pay for your coffee.

I read it over and over again my smile getting wider every time I read each word. Finally putting down the letter I looked in the box to see a Dunkin Doughnuts gift card and a couple of t-shirts with sticky notes on them. "No take-backs," one said. Another said, "There's a fifty percent chance this won't make it to two weeks." Another said "I named this one Peace... it's my favorite."
"It's the same color as the other three shirts though and can you stop looking out like you're in love. It's not like you're gonna marry the girl she's just being nice." Josh said.
I paused a little before looking at him. His eyes widened before he said, "Bro it's a joke you're seriously not thinking of marrying her you legit just met her."
"I dunno about marry but...I have a feeling." I said
"The bathroom is empty."
"Not that feeling," I said while shooting him a glare.
"What in the Disney movie is going on?"
"You know the more I think about it You and Kate..."
"Don't even pull that crap with me."
"Whatever."
"Seriously dude you're creeping me out stop it. You act like you just figured out what the word kindness looks like."
"I want to get to know her,"Â I said while reading the other notes
"And I want Elon Musk to be my father."
I shot him another glare.
"What am I gonna do with her?" I asked thinking out loud.
"I don't know leave her alone?" Josh said sarcastically.
"Are you trying to irritate me?" I asked
"Are you trying to..."
I shot him another glare.
"Alright, I get it. Dogs bark roof." "Hey Alexa play bood up," Josh said while walking out of the room
The door closed and I sighed. "Alexa off"
I looked back at the box. "What am I gonna do with you?" I asked shaking my head. "I have a feeling I won't be able to get rid of you. I barely met you and you already fill my thoughts." I said. I was about to put back her favorite shirt in the box when something on the tag caught my eye. I looked closer at it and it was a very small red heart. She must have stitched on there. "Rachel...I wonder what's your last name." I said picking up the items from out of the box. Something told me that soon it would be Mconner.
