"Get out of here before I puke please all these display of affection is making me sick, " Kate said making a gagging face.
I smiled before running up to hug and kiss her. "I love you and ill see you later, "
"Go get 'em, tiger, " she whispered hugging me tighter.
We broke apart and Kate gave Matt the dirty eye.
"Bye Regina," Matt said taking my hand in his.
"Okay, now you've crossedâ"
"I'm sorry but the caller you're trying to reach is unavailable please leave a message after the beep."
I got my stuff and we headed towards the door.
"I'm still waiting on that beep!" Kate yelled.
"Exactly!" Matt yelled back.
"You guys are never going to stop are you?" I asked.
They only smiled.
"Bye Matt,"
"Bye Kate,"
"Come on I want to give you your gift," I said tugging him behind me.
"Slow down," he said laughing.
"I'm too excited," I reply only moving faster.
We got my dorm in record timing.
"Come on, come on, come on," I said trying to push him inside.
"Slow down please," He said catching me before I fell.
"Sorry"
I dropped my things and ran to my bed. Finding what I was looking for; I took up the box and gave it to him.
"Open up," I said all smiles.
He opened it and took out the watch that was resting in it.
"I wanted to wait a little bit longer but I thought now would be a better time,"
"It's beautiful," he said.
"So you like it?"
"I love it. Thank you," He said pulling me closer to him.
"You're welcome,"
"I have something for you too but unlike like me you're going to have to wait," he mumbled into my hair.
"I can't say patience is my best quality,"
"It's not mine either," he said.
"Soâ"
"You're still waiting," he said cutting me off.
"It didn't hurt to try, " I sighed.
Later that evening...
"Where are we going?" I asked for the seventh time except for this time I got no answer.
"Is it somewhere I know?" I asked again.
"Maybe, " he replied.
"You're not helping, " I said frowning.
"Good, "
I sighed.
"We're almost there, " he said.
The car stopped and I hear the door open.
"Don't move I'm coming to get you, "
"Okay"
He came over and opened my door and helped me out of his truck.
I hear the door lock and shut before I'm being picked up.
"Hey!" I said in surprise.
"Sorry I should have warned you, "
He walked with me in his arms for a bit until my feet are planted on the floor again.
"Okay, " he said "You can take the blindfolds off now, "
I yanked them off and halted as I took in my surroundings.
"Umm, where are we?" I said looking around. I saw nothing but trees far off into the distance.
"In the middle of nowhere, " he said. "This is the primary place I would come to when I just need to think or something was happening so I would come here, "
"It's very lonely and sad out here..." I said looking around again.
"I know" "This was my life before I got to know Christ. Dark, lonely, nowhere to run to. I was lost but now I'm found. I'm found in Him. My worth, my entire existence is because of Him. He brought light into my life. He is light. I'm so happy Rachel, "
I smiled and he smiled back.
All of a sudden there were lights everywhere lighting up the place. This looked like an abandoned park but if time was put into it, it would be so beautiful.
"You are a part of the reason why I know Christ today. Little by little you led me to Him not just by talking about Him but by the way you lived. These past five months have been the best in my entire life and I'm so thankful that God put you in my life. I thank him every day even if I don't see you. So with that being said...Rachel Danielle Walker, would you do me the honor of becoming my girlfriend?"
"Yes," I said no hesitating.
He scooped me up in his arms and spun around a bit before setting me down again. Pressing his forehead against mine we wrapped each other in a tight embrace.
"I have one more thing and then I want to take you out on a date, "
He took a box out of his back pocket his eyes meeting mine.
"Matt--"
"This is not what it is...unless you want it to be, " he said smirking.
"Matt!"
"Kidding kidding, " he said quickly.
He gave me the box and I opened it to a beautiful necklace that had a locket.
"It's beautiful, " I whispered.
"It's my mothers, " he said.
My head snapped up.
"She knows about you. Everyone does you just have to meet them, "
I looked back down at the necklace and back to him again.
"When?"
"Whenever you want. I won't force you, " he said.
"You should have a say too, "
"If I had one we would skip this part of the whole courting thing, "
"What?" I asked in shock.
"Let me put this on, " he said changing the subject.
"Don't you think we're going too fast?" I asked as he placed it on my neck.
"In the world's eyes...yes. In my eyes, we could have gone even faster, " He said as he claps it and kisses my cheek.
"So...how about that date?" he asks.
I smiled. "I'd love to, "
We were back in the truck and on our way to our second destination. Fingers locked together and everything. I looked over at him for a while considering my next move. I did see a future with him. I saw myself spending the rest of my life with Him glorifying God together.
"Hey Matt?"
"Hmm"
"Let's go see your parents this weekend, "
