School flew by and the next thing you know I'm in the second semester of my first year in college. I went home for Christmas to spend time with my family and now I'm back unpacking with Kate.
"How was Christmas for you?" I asked
"Meh. I got a few gifts and all we went to church but literally no money."
"Still on the money thing?"
"Well no not really. We went and gave food to homeless people so that wasn't bad. I guess the whole experience made me more grateful for everything I have."
"Thats wonderful!" I said. "Anyways...I have some things for you"
"Ooooo you have my attention, " she said.
"Here you go, " I said handing her a box.
She took out a necklace with one pearl in the center and smiled.

"You remembered, " she said running up to hug me.
"Of course I remembered but don't love me yet there's one more, "
She gave me a confusing look before looking deeper into the box throwing out all its contents.
"Money!!" she yelled.
"In the form of a card yes!!" I replied just as excited.
"But not any card. A visa gift card!"
"Yayyy," I said jumping up and down giggling.
"Thank you!" she said squeezing my life out of me. "Ooo I have something for you too, "
She ran back to her side of the room and pulled out a gift bag. Before she handed it to me she said "Okay so I sort of but not really snooped around and found out your size as a just in case and I saw these and they screamed you so here, "
I took the bag hesitantly and almost screamed. "These are adorable, " I squeaked.

"I love em!" I said hugging her tightly.
"You better girl that was money," she said laughing.
Later that day we went to the cafe so Kate could start working again and I can trouble her.
The door opened to reveal Matt standing there. My heart stopped and all of a sudden I couldn't breathe. We only saw each other once after the whole moment we had and that's when we were leaving for Christmas break. I missed him...
"Scar, " Kate said
"Sharpay, " Matt replied. Kate gasped.
"You...you--"
"Please save all comments for when I do care about what you say, "
If looks could kill...
Just then they both busted out laughing. I sat there in confusion.
"Scar?" I asked in confusion.
"The Lion King, " Kate replied.
"And Sharpay is High School Musical. Gosh, she was annoying, " Matt said before I could ask.
The room grew quiet as Matt and I made eye contact for what seemed like hours. Kate interpreted by saying "Oh look at the time better start getting ready. I'm heading to the back, "
We said nothing as she left.
"Hi, " I said fidgeting in my seat.
"I've missed you, " he said taking a step closer.
"I've missed you too, " I said before I could stop myself.
More silence. Not taking it anymore I got out of my chair and ran into his arms. He caught me without hesitation and we squeezed each other. I pulled back bringing my hands to his face my fingers lightly touching the bags under his eyes.
"How are you?" I asked.
"A lot better...the best I've ever been. You?"
"I'm hanging in there. I can't complain, "
More silence.
"I've missed you, " he said again kissing my hand as my fingers brushed over his stubble.
I giggled getting a smile out of him. He looked so handsome.
"I think I've missed you more," I said.
One of his eyebrows shot up. "Is that so?" he asked.
"Mhmm, " " I have your Christmas gift but I wasn't sure when I was going to see you again so I didn't bring it with me, "
His smile faded. "I'm sorry it wasn't my intention to ---"
I placed one of my fingers on his lips to stop him from speaking.
"Never apologize to me for something that brings you closer to God. I get why you couldn't see me, "
He smiled before opening his mouth and biting my finger.
I snatched it back in horror before he busted out laughing.
"What the actual fu--"
"Kate!" I yelled preventing her from going any further and pushed myself out of Matts arm my feet landing back on the floor.
" I was going to say fudge" she shrieked.
