I'm not gonna lie and say that seeing Matthew this morning was a surprise. I knew he would show up sometime. I didn't have to know him personally but I could tell he was just that person. I wonder if Google has a word for that.
"Helloooo," Kate said as she snapped her fingers in front of me.
"It's me time pay me attention. You only love me for what I can offer you," she said pouting.
"Oh hush and sorry I just got carried away you were talking about...James? No John no no wait Josh, " I said feeling satisfied with my answer.
She started at me before shaking her head. "It's Jacob, " she said while snatching my last piece of gum. Thank God I'm saved cause oooo child.
"Okay so why don't you like him again?"
"It's not about liking him or not, his face just annoys me."
"What?" I asked.
"Every time I feel like it's a battle between us like Black Widow and Hawkeye except I want him to die."
"Black Widow?" I asked confused
"Oh come on. You don't watch action movies, you don't watch horror movies, you hardly watch comedies...then what do you watch?" she said blowing the gum...my gum.
I smiled and cleared my voice "It must have been love but its over nowwww it must have been good but I lost I--"
"Of course. How did I not guess that?" She said cutting me off.
I shrugged "I'm a romance girl, yes, but a good Christian movie gets me every time. I'm waiting for the Kendrick brothers to publish a War Room 2"
"I need to watch that movie I heard it was good," she said.
"Then I'll set a date," I said looking around for something to eat.
"I just I can't stand him you know? He just ahhhhh he's so annoying and every time I look at him I want to punch him in the face."
"Aggressive I see."
"Nah it's all words no game. I wish he would know that I don't care about him being top in the class because his victory is only temporary. I will come out on top. You know why?"
"Why?"
"Because I'm that bit--"
"--no cursing!!" I said before she could finish.
"Right," she said pausing. "Because I'm that"
"What?"
"I'm that" she repeated. "I'm just that"
"Do you want some chips?" she asked
"Ummm yes thank you, " I said while slipping off my shoes.
"So proper...I love it, " she said while walking back with some hot fries.
"I think it's called respect, " I said while a small chuckle
"I love the sass too, " she said while throwing a fry at me.
"How was school?" I asked
She gave me a look that asked where I've been for the past hour.
"Sorry, it's a habit," I said giving her my best guilty smile.
"You better be glad I love you. How was school for you?"
"It was great. I had a talk with my professors, got some tests done, oh I found out I don't have to take a foreign language class because I completed that pathway in high school so more money for me."
"Chefs kiss, " she said while blowing one.
I pretended to catch it. Just then a knock was on the door then two then three.
"I'm coming, " we both said.
"You sit your fingers are messy I'll get it," I said heading towards the door.
"Thanks queen," she called back after me.
"Hi, " I said after opening the door.
"I have a delivery for Rachel." the man said.
"Umm that's me but I didn't --"
"Here you go and have a great day." he said and walked away.
I stood there for a second and took up the note I saw on the front of the bag.
'I saw your list on the fridge and thought I'd save you a grocery trip. Don't think too hard about it. You're welcome and no I don't want your money.'
