Chapter 28 Initial Suspicion
Song Liangjiang turned around and glanced at Chu Jingmo. Those who didnât know better would think that he was her father.
âThank you, Miss Luo.â Song Liangjiang looked at Chu Jingmo. âIs that all, Daddy?â
Chu Jingmo was speechlessâ¦
She spun around and strode away. If Luo Fuyang had picked it up, she would have thanked her. But the receptionist had already found the bag. What kind of kind act would that be?
With Luo Fuyangâs relationship with her, it would be a conspiracy for her to take the initiative to help.
âSheâs a little willful because of her young age, but we didnât dare to behave so when we were her age.â Luo Fuyang chuckled, as if she was just lamenting.
Song Liangjiang suddenly stopped and took a deep breath before turning back to look at Luo Fuyang. âMiss Luo, do you know why you canât be willful at my age? Because you lack a father and a husband.â
She was satisfied to see Luo Fuyangâs expression fall slightly. She gestured to Chu Jingmo with her hand. âDaddy, come back quickly.â
Chu Jingmo was speechlessâ¦
Why was this woman so annoying?
She deserved a beating.
Luo Fuyang watched as Song Liangjiang entered the elevator. She hid her anger well. âJingmo, I didnât expect you to like such a
girl.â
âIs that so? I didnât expect that either.â Chu Jingmo left after saying that.
Luo Fuyangâs smile froze on her face. If Chu Jingmoâs previous words were still specious, his reply almost admitted that he liked Song Liangjiang
Song Liangjiang cursed Chu Jingmo. When she got out of the elevator and was about to return to her room, she saw Xie Yuâs assistant entering with a medical kit. She was startled for a moment and stood at the door to look inside.
âLiangjiang?â When Xie Yu saw Song Liangjiang, he walked over. âSorry, did they bump into you again?â
âYour fans and I donât get along. I can never walk away unscathed.â She leaned against the door and looked at Xie Yu. She noticed the red mark on his forehead. âDid you get hit?â
Xie Yu raised his hand to his forehead. âI wasnât careful when I walked just now. I hit the glass door. But itâs not a big deal.â
Song Liangjiang felt the pain just by hearing him. No job was easy.
âI donât think that happened the last time we went to the mall.â
âItâs working hours. And at any time, itâs work for me.â With a slight shrug, Xie Yu leaned against the door as well. âI heard you went to Mr. Yangâs house today. Did you manage to get anything?â
m
âI didnât get anything, but I did have a romantic encounter.â Song Liangjiang liked to talk to Xie Yu. Talking to him always made people feel comfortable.
âReally? That can be considered a gain?â Xie Yu chuckled. âThat man is even more handsome than Old Chu?â
âChu Jingmo is handsome? Are you blind?â Song Liangjiang was still annoyed. She would remember him for forcing her to thank that cunning woman.
âHahahaâ¦â Xie Yu laughed out loud. He spotted the man coming over from the corner of his eye, but he still trudged on,â You and Old Chu are married because of love?â
âYour heart might be blind too. For a man like Chu Jingmo, there seems to be no other ending for him other than being alone for the rest of his life.â Song Liangjiang waved her hand. âI woke up too early this morning. Iâm going back to catch up on my sleep. You should apply the medicine properly.â
Xie Yu sent Song Liangjiang away with a smile and watched as Chu Jingmo strode over with a grim expression.
âSheâs right about one thing. Youâre more suitable to be alone for the rest of your life.â Xie Yu looked at Chu Jingmo with a faint smile. It was rare to see him with a dark expression. After all, it was not easy to infuriate or provoke Chu Jingmo.
But this matter seemed extremely easy for Song Liangjiang.
Xie Yu watched as Chu Jingmo left with Song Liangjiang. The grin on his face faded a little. âMarriage before love⦠This is never-ending!â
After saying that, Xie Yu turned around and asked his assistant to apply medicine for him.
Song Liangjiang returned to her room and placed her bag on the sofa. She collapsed on the bed and yawned a few times before falling asleep.
When Chu Jingmo came in, he saw the girl sleeping like a pig on the bed. She really fell asleep quickly.
Li Chuan came over and whispered something in Chu Jingmoâs ear.
Chu Jingmo pulled the blanket over her without any gentleness, then turned around and went out. âAsk Xie Yu to come to my room and get a few people to tail Song Liangjiang.â
Li Chuan nodded and went to do as he was instructed.
Xie Yu only came over after applying the medicine. When he came in, he sat on the sofa. He then gazed at the man sitting by the window whose attention was on his laptop. âWhy did you call me over at this time?â
âThereâs something wrong with Yang Heng.â
Xie Yu asked, âYang Heng?â
His job here was to be the spokesperson for Mr. Yangâs family brand. âI didnât find anything amiss.â
Chu Jingmo looked at Xie Yu. âCancel the contract as soon as possible. Donât blame me for not reminding you that this person is not only dubious, but perhaps also very problematic.â
Xie Yu frowned. If Chu Jingmo was certain that there was a problem, then it wouldnât just be a big problem. It might involve incalculable consequences.
âIâll get my company to arrange it. Old Chu, you didnât leave the country just for Liangjiang, right? What are you investigating? You wonât implicate her, would
you?â
Chu Jingmo closed the laptop in front of him. âSheâs my wife. You care too much about her.â
Those who didnât know better would think that Song Liangjiang had an underground relationship with him.
When Li Chuan returned, Chu Jingmo left.
This time, Li Chuan brought back what Chu Jingmo had asked him to investigate.
âMiss Song was born in a mountain area in Yunnan. Her parents died early. When she was 15 years old, she was admitted to the Atlas Universityâs architecture faculty. Her grandfather passed away and she has never returned since.â It was a very simple life story. There were almost no other twists and turns.
Chu Jingmo stood by the window with his hands clasped behind his back as he gazed at the pedestrians outside. It seemed like a tragic world. If this was all true, it would be a miracle for her to still be able to live so freely.
âHer grandfather passed away as soon as she got into university. In other words, her past has become a story to other people,â Chu Jingmo drawled slowly. âThen what was Yang Hengâs motive to scheme and lure a girl with no background?â
Li Chuan had no idea, so he didnât know how to answer.
âDid the old lady insist that she marry me just because of that incident at the bar?â
Now it seemed that perhaps the incident at the bar had not been an accident after all.
Song Liangjiang slept until the sky turned dark. When she woke up, she rolled around in bed a few times before waking up. She took her phone and read the messages. Tang Yi had sent her a preliminary sketch. It was modified according to Song Liangjiangâs concept map and there were a few questions that she and her seniors had.
She read the questions and got up to take her sketchbook from her bag. As she studied the sketches, she didnât notice that there seemed to be something stuck on the spine of the sketchbook.
