Chapter 20: Episode 20 Picozzi who?

Pieces of My Universe 🧩💗Words: 16612

Unbeknownst to Calvin and Nina, I'm peering at them through the garage window. While Janet explains to me what happened between her and Jay earlier. Here I am trying to make friends with Nina, while she's brazenly all over my boyfriend. Is this part of the plan, if it's planned shouldn't she have told me?

I am starting to get a clear picture here; Nina really doesn't care to get back at Calvin at all. In fact, I believe she wants him all to herself. Little does she know, I despise betrayal especially when it's delivered straight to my face!

"Hey Hannah, earth to Hannah, where is your head at?" Hoping to catch her attention. Hannah's eyes are glued to the window. I know she hasn't been paying attention to anything I have said, again. She is so distracted she didn't blink an eye or ooh or ahh or anything! If she were paying attention she would have been celebrating and jumping up and down with me by now.

This was a huge deal for me, it was my first romantic kiss with Jay! She politely looks past me nodding her head as if she is half listening like a guy does. I wonder what could be more important than listening to her friend right now?

"Sorry Janet, right now it's trippin over Mr. Filmore! I have been spying on him through the window behind you. I'm guessing he never realized what a perfect view there is from here, of Tom's porch." Replaying the scene in my mind is Causing me to become even more livid at both Calvin and Nina!

"Sooo, what did you see that has clearly got you buggin girl?" Hannah is usually the happy go lucky type. Just a few minutes ago she was cheerful and smiling and now she looks as if she's seething with vengeance. I don't like this Nina chick at all, I feel it has something to do with her. She did mention Calvin had her trippin, he's such a dickwad.

"Do I come off as Naive to you Janet? Really do I, because this Nina chick apparently thinks I am! She has the audacity to hit on my boyfriend in front of all our friends, and not in a subtle manner I might add!

All I was trying to do was be her friend. You know how I am with following my gut instinct, my intuition. I'm not sure why I have this feeling that we could be great friends. When all Nina keeps trying to do is snatch my boy from me and it's pissing me off! All I know is that the universe has put her in my path for some unknown reason.

Oh Janet, I am terribly sorry for my mood. I do want you to know that I am extremely happy for you and Jay. It took you two long enough, but I knew it was going to happen." My anger boiled over, causing me to almost scream my words in a loud, frustrated voice. Realizing Janet had nothing to do with my mood, I toned it down. Bring a cheerful tone back as I tease her.

Janet walks over to me with her arms wide open, giving me a feel-good energetic hug. Boosting my mood and comforting me as best friends do in these situations.

"Oh no honey, you're not naïve, Nina is just thirsty for your boy and can't control herself! You want me to kick her cheeky ass, you know I'll do it! Why would Calvin want her over you?

Nina is just wasting her time pursuing him Hannah, don't let her get under your skin! You have never been the type to be jealous, what gives?" Hannah's face expresses concern, which makes me wonder what has happened between now and after school with these two.

"I did a purely stupid thing Janet, I got a little hot and heavy with Calvin at his house this afternoon. But don't worry, I stopped him before we went to the point of no return! I told him without delay he was not the one, and I would never do it with him and I meant it!

So now, not only does he know that it's never going to happen between us, but he also has a chick flinging herself at him. Nina is probably willing to go all the way with Calvin! What do you think Calvin a horny teenage boy, is going to do? It's so obvious what he will do, they are all about getting laid any way possible!

If this were a game of chess, I have just put myself in checkmate against Nina, and she is about to take my king and win the whole damn game!" Chill out Hannah, calm down, calm down just take a breath. Focusing on Janet while I take deep breaths in and out as I sway myself from side to side.

"Good news is Calvin has yet to move from that chair, even if she was all over him, he didn't follow her. I think we should go back out there with the guys. I got your back you just give me a signal and I'll use these shit kickers on her face!" I'm all riled up; I can feel my blood pumping and the adrenalin amping up.

"You should know me by now Janet I hate violence! Let me do this my way, using my intellect and charm. Before we go out there let's have a toast to you and Jay, may you two enjoy the ride!" Holding our 40s high, we tap the bottles together in the air to make the toast.

"Yeah, let me add may we not crash and burn our friendship to the ground, in the process!" Laughing with Hannah knowing very well how these teenage and even adult romantic relationships usually end.

Peeking out the window one last time to see if Mr. Filmore is still visible. He's still there, taking another big slug from my beer. We made sure to shut off the light in the garage before leaving to go join the guys.

Walking through the backyard I'm feeling the effects of the alcohol kicking in. Yup the buzz is here, I better talk to Calvin before I drink anymore. Giggling with Janet, we grab a hold of each other's hands and skip over to join the gang sitting on the back porch.

"Hey babe, over here!" Jay shouts from the ramps across the yard to Janet.

In all Janet's excitement she pulls me through the crowd of skaters and jumps into his arms. Leaving me to stand here ignoring them as they suck face. EW!

"What's up Picozzi? You don't know me, but I have heard about you! I have been dying to talk to you all night and introduce myself. My name is Eric! I've seen you around, but I have been waiting for the right time to say Hi. Considering You're always hanging out with these guys. I didn't want to be stepping on anyone's toes, if you know what I mean." What is up with this guy? Why is He talking to my back like some sort of creep? Turning my head, looking over my shoulder to put a face to the voice, not expecting Eric to be so Fine with a capital F

Be nice Hannah, that voice said to me in my head!

"Why are you calling me Picozzi, huh? You don't know my first name; I have never had anyone except my teachers call me by my last name. Oh, that's it, you only know my last name from the teachers calling me out in class or was it in the halls!

Leaving Eric standing there looking stunned by himself. Walking away in Tom's direction who's sitting down on the ramp, smoking a joint with River.

Shit, I'm realizing I have stirred up the pot, and it might cause a tad bit of havoc. If this Eric guy goes around asking people what my name is, someone will probably bring it to Calvin's attention.

Hey, he started this snowball rolling with Nina! I'm just amplifying it with Eric and rolling it back in his direction. Perhaps Eric will keep Calvin's ego entertained this evening, long enough to keep him from attempting to sleep with Nina, for now anyway.

I know myself well and if Janie is right and I'm Calvin's mirror and he is mine. Then Eric will drive him insane because he doesn't want me to date anyone else, even if he can't sleep with me. He still wants to keep me for himself, as it would hurt his pride and bother him to see me with another guy.

"What's up Hannah, where is your cute new friend Nina?" Tom asks me and passes me the joint.

"I don't know, maybe hoeing herself around by now, why not go ask Calvin. I'm just kidding with you Tom! I really don't know where she went." Taking a long ass drag off the joint, trying to help lighten my mood a little. Passing the joint back to River and plopping down on the grass, giggling my ass off. How the hell is half of my 40 was gone already? I thought I was just sipping on it.

"Hey Hannah, whoa, the night is young slow down already or you're going to be passed out before the real fun begins." Hannah has not been herself all day and she just keeps getting worse. I'm really starting to worry about my friend, If I didn't know any better, I would swear she was under mind, control and was taken over by some aliens. Whoa Tom, man get a grip on reality here, this bud is getting to your head!

"Good idea, you're such a good friend Tom! I'm just going to lay down and star gaze a while." Tom is right, I need to just chill out and slow myself down from partying for a bit. Taking Tom's advice, I lay back on the grass too stare at the beautiful stars above and regroup with myself.

Meanwhile Eric is touring around the party asking people about me and trying to find out my name.

I'm extremely proud of you Calvin, that voice in my head is whispering to me again. I have come to the realization that this must be my conscience, this voice is quiet and soft. Unlike that loud hungry voice that's always there before I make a dumb decision.

Keeping my eye out trying to spot Hannah in the sea of people. After noticing that the garage light had been turned off. I know she is out there in the crowd somewhere; After that last Jell-O shot, I'm too buzzed at this point to want to get up and go look for her.

"What's up Filmore?" My friend Grady, decided to come to the party tonight after all. Makes sense since seeing River and half the team is here, there must not be a game tomorrow. Giving them a chance to get shitfaced.

"Wussup Grady! Bro, while you were out in the crowd, did you by any chance see my girl out there?" Asking him all pie eyed, he knew I was already fucked up. He laughs at me, seeing that it's super early in the evening. Damn I wish I never took those Jell-o shots, they really did me in!

"Yo Filmore, your toast dude and it's only 8:30, you should learn to pace yourself bud! Speaking of your girl dude, I came over here to ask you if her last name is Picozzi?" Why would Grady ask me that?

Dazed, standing up from the chair, to go find Hannah and make sure she's ok. Nobody around here calls any of the girls by their last names, that's just weird. It's a guy thing; sports taught us to call each other by our last names.

"Why are you asking me about Hannah's last name?" Feeling bad for Grady, ready to flip out on him already, and I don't even know what is going on to justify it.

I almost told him I thought it might be Hannah, then this alarm went off in my head that told me to come talk to you. I blew that dude off and told him good luck. I don't think anyone will give him her first name." Grady explains the situation in detail to me.

I want to have a talk with him and see what he wants with Hannah, maybe he doesn't even know she already has a boyfriend." Why didn't Hannah just tell Eric she has a boyfriend? Like how hard would that have been, I have heard her say it before. Why do I have a feeling she is pissed at me right now. Did she see Nina seduce me earlier or could she read my thoughts all the way from the garage?

"Dude, that's easy Filmore, Eric is the only guy here that is as tall as you!" He snickers at me.

"Thanks man, catch you later!" Walking down the porch stairs, searching through the mixed crowd of skaters and jocks, for Hannah and Eric hoping to clear up these misunderstandings.

If I know her, she's hanging out with her best friends. All I have to do is find Jay; he most likely knows where Hannah is. I spot Jay with Janet cuddling under the tree and walk up to them.

"Hey Calvin!" Janet yells at me as I approach the two of them.

"Yo Janet, where is Hannah?" Asking Janet figuring she would know. I'm in a hurry to find Hannah before that Eric guy goes looking for her again.

"She was here just a minute ago, I thought she took off to meet up with you." Janet says, using her sarcastic tone and giving me a look as though she's unhappy with the sight of me. It's not a good sign if Janet isn't happy with me; that means Hannah sure as hell isn't happy with me at all, as these chicks tend to stick together!

"Nope I stayed right where she left me, on the porch, and she never came back. Grady told me some guy named Eric was bothering her. Apparently, he is asking everyone for her first name, so I need to find her." She's absolutely no help, and I'm tired of her stink eye!

"Filmore, you know Hannah. Don't make a big deal out of it and piss off Tom by causing a scene at his house. I'm sure it was Hannah's way of getting the guy to leave her alone, especially if he didn't even know her name. I guarantee that if some guy is bothering her, she'll be hanging out with Tom if she didn't come find you or me. She's not stupid. Before you were around, if some guy bothered her, she would stick close to her guy friends.

My question for you, bro, is why didn't she head directly over to you when it happened?" Jay arches his eyebrows at me, as if he's using his body language to say, 'What did you do now?

"My thoughts exactly dude, it's like Hannah didn't want me to know, don't worry I got this!" Off in the distance I hear giggling from an infectious voice, that's Hannah.

Following the sound of her laughing until I spot her with Tom and River laying on the ground looking up at the sky, blowing smoke rings with each other. Good to know she's ok, Jay was right she found Tom since she is mad at me. Right before I'm about to walk over and talk to her, lo and behold, a tall guy like myself comes up to me, taps me on the shoulder, and starts talking to me.

"Tom has some great ramps, man. My name is Eric Digo. Do you skate?" Oh, this is the dude I'm looking for, now I see why Hannah didn't tell him she had a boyfriend.

"Yeah man, my name is Calvin Filmore! You must be the Eric guy going around asking about Ms. Picozzi's first name!" I think I'm going to let this guy sweat a little and find out his intentions before telling him what's up. I turn my head to check on Hannah really quick, only to find she's vanished from my sight again.

I spot Calvin and Eric having a face-to-face chat, so I tell Tom and River I'll catch up with them later, and boot into the house to find my frenemy Nina. I suspect she's been waiting for my boyfriend to come find her after reading the energy between the two of them window.

As I walk up the porch stairs, a bunch of upperclassman guys are sitting around the table. They offer me a Jell-o shot if I let them take a body shot off me.

"Sorry guys wrong girl!" Please, as if.

"Yo, don't I know you? You're Hannah, right? Filmore's girl? Dude, you're hitting on Filmore's girl. Not cool, he's already over there talking to the last guy that did." Grady's being an idiot. How could he forget who I am? He hangs out with me and Calvin. I guess he could have mistaken me for someone else in the dark, and he's clearly had too many Jello shots.

"Shit, Hannah, we're Hella sorry. We're all friends of your boy Filmore, so no disrespect, aiight?" He stands up and shakes my hand.

"Well, you can't really say that, because it was disrespectful to proposition me even before you knew who I was!" Not impressed with them I steal a Jell-O shot off the table and down it right in front of their faces. Then I walk off to go inside the house. God knows I am going to need it to deal with the devil chick in there.

"Yo, Grady you should have warned me, Filmore's lady is savage!" I chuckle, knowing he has no clue.

"Yeah, she's hot! No, you didn't hear that. why you think he likes the ice queen man!" I f*cked up. Why did I say that? It just kinda slipped out.

"When's Calvin going home again? I'm just playing!" I Hope this guy can keep Hannah's name out of his mouth. We need to get some chicks over here to distract them.

Next episode is going to be juicy, to say the least. We've got Calvin in a confrontation with Eric, and Hannah off to find Nina for one of her own squabbles. How it all goes down? I can't say for sure, but I know this party is about to get chaotic.
