Chapter 16: 16. MY WIFE

A Tale Of Two Words ( On Hold )Words: 10847

Sejal's pov :

Tightly clutching onto my pillow with an annoyed expression on my face, I open my eyes slightly with a grin on my face as the warm bright rays of the sun hits my face.

"Abbey yaar Shubhi, why did you open the window? "

I squeaked, when a deep masculine voice answered.

"YE EK GHAR HAI, CIRCUS KA TAMBU NAHIN, JO TUM JOKER KI TARAH CHEEKHTI CHILLATI RAHO WHO BHI SUBAH SUBAH"

(this is a house , not a circus tent, that you keep on screaming and shouting early in the morning like some mad joker )

I slightly pulled the duvet downwards and peeked out to find

NAMAN stepping out of the bathroom in his bathrobe,

oh god, i forgot, i'm not in my house but in my best frie- ughh, my husband's house. i stared at his reflection being half awake, unaware of the fact that he's been watching me since long.

His curves totally visible and his well built chest showing off. Water dropping from the messy strands of his hair, indicating that he had taken a shower . This is the reason his intimidating look captures people's attention.

It's not like, I haven't seen him, but still, now we are not best friends anymore. We are newly married couples.

Naman :

"So, neend puri hui Mrs Singhania? "

i keep on staring at him without providing an answer and he snaps again

" oh hello, behre ho gye kya Mrs Singhania?" ( have you gone deaf?)

"Shouldn't it be me to ask you that? "

As I remembered he slept on the couch last night, since it was our first night after marriage and he didn't want to make me feel uncomfortable.

I kept on watching his actions, as he sprayed perfume on his body and while combing his hair he stared at my messy state answering back.

"Oh, uhm l I slept too well, what about you? "

"I did too"

I said as I yawned and glided his big slippers inside my foot, heading towards the bathroom to freshen up.

"GET SOME WORK, MRS SINGHANIA"

"OIL YOUR MACHINE YOU DUMBASS" I  said side eyeing him , squeezing the toothpaste onto my toothbrush.

WELL I'M NOT INTO CALLING HIM ANY HUSBAND. HE'S MY SOULMATE MY BESTIE, AND WILL ALWAYS BE. I DO NOT ACQUIRE OUR RELATIONSHIP OF BEING HUSBAND WIFE.

"Khana ladu?  Mrs Singhania? "

I didn't reply back only to find him heading down stairs.

Seriously man, what's gotten into him?

Where's my old soulmate? Where is my old Namu? The person who never hesitated before smacking me Or cursing me! The person who always called me by weird nicknames.  Where's my old Namu? Did this marriage change him? Or is he feeling uncomfortable around me? And why the heck is he calling me MRS SINGHANIA?

I adjusted myself comfortably on the couch placed in the sitting room before scrolling through my phone only to find around 50 missed calls and a few texts from Nisha and Shubhi.

That's when a person came right in front of me serving me a bowl full of chicken noodles and a cup full of coffee.

It's was my Namu.

He's such a pure soul. That's the reason I love him.

"Oye, Tu nhi khayega? " I asked

"Nhi, leave it, I'll have it later"

Saying this he went outside towards the garden.

Without any further hesitance, I started gobbling up the noodles and while sipping onto my coffee, I spot him roaming around the garden through the large glass window.

So me being the heroine I am I follow his footsteps in the garden only to find him sitting on the swing, talking with someone.

I keep on watching him from a distance and heading forward, I try catching his words.

Only a few words make way through my ears.

"Bhai I was forced, what would I do? She ran away, bhai "

What does that mean? Does he love his bride who ran away? Did he marry me just because of reputation?

I suddenly stomp out to him from the bush I was hiding and ask him to come inside.

"Who are you talking to?

"No... No.. No one... Mrs Singhania "

"Stop calling me that " I snapped and snatcged the phone from him, when the caller hangs up probably aware that something was burning.

My anger, my jealousy, and the feeling that said me my Namu is happy was burning.

Naman : Seju, Seju, li... Listen.

But I stomped into the house with his phone in my hand.

"Baby, listen "

He calls me and I throw his phone when he catches it in an instant.

"There's nothing left to listen Namu- Mr Singhania" I retorted

"What did you call me? "

"Khana rakha hai table pe, jake kha lijiye..... And. No questions"

Naman silently went to the table picking up his food and looked at her with his childish eyes glistening.

He obviously didn't argue further since he knows that she can be very angry at times.

N : I... I... seju, sun na yara.

He said when Sejal stopped midway at the staircase and turned around.

Sejal : what do you want?

Naman : you,

Sejal : kya?

Naman : uhm, uhmm I wanted to take you out.

Chal na please!

Sejal did not pay heed to him and went upstairs, without sparing a single glance at him.

Author pov :

Though she acted as if though thr marriage did not matter much to her but, inside she was rather happy.

And on hearing Naman's words in the garden, she felt that Naman loved Sandhya.

She did feel sad.

Really sad.

Maybe a bit angry too.

Though she did not show it.

Sejal came down in her glamorous outfit, cladded in a blue kurti. The vibrant colours of her outfit complimenting her skin tone. She walks down gracefully holding her dupatta, all the while her husband stares at her.

(Sejal's outfit)

Naman : to finally you could finish your makeup rani sahiba.

Sejal: I'm in no mood to talk to you.

Naman : aj suraj kis disha se nikli hai?

I mean a chatterbox like you isn't interested in talking.

"Janeman, aj kya hua hai mere chandni ko ? "

Sejal : oh please, stop with your stupid flirts.

Naman : fine, fine, let's go

he said as sejal walked out and he approached his hand to guide her to the driver seat.

Sejal : I'm sitting at the back seat.

Naman : but why?

Sejal : teko kyu batau?

Naman : okay, as long as your comfortable.

The whole drive was silent and Naman who was sitting at the driver seat and driving kept on stealing glances at Sejal secretively.

When they reached finally at the restaurant, it was quite late.

Around 10 pm at night.

Naman took off his seatbelt and getting off, he extended a hand to Sejal, who was busy texting her friend.

Seeing so many people holding each other's hand, Sejal nervously clutched on to Naman's well built arm, while he grabbed her by the waist .

The restaurant was a sight to behold, it's walls reflected intricate designs and and the glamorous chandelier hanging above lighted up their way.

The soft lighting adjusted to the comfortable couch-like seats and the distinctively chosen well thought menu attracted them. The background music added to its beauty.

Walking in both of them sat down comfortably on their seats and Naman forwarded the menu card to Sejal telling her to choose whatever she likes.

Just when she's about to call the waiter to order, an unknown hand waves at her from Naman's direction.

When Sejal smiles at that man and stands up to greet him.

Sejal : long time no see Sahil.

Sahil : Seju, I thought you forgot about me. Tujhe yaad hai how much fun we used to have in college? Do you still remember those good old days?

Sejal : who forgets such memories?

Sahil : oh, so who's he Seju?

He says pointing at a seated Naman who was gazing at him with his rage contorted face and eyes full of fury.

Sejal : oh, ......oh .......he, .......he......he's my friend, Naman.

Sahil forwaded his hand for a handshake but Naman being the jealous ass he is, did not bother to even stand up to talk to him .

Sahil : looks like he's super angry

He whispered in Sejal's ear, when she rolled her eyes.

Sahil : Hi there, I'm Sahil Singh Oberoi.

Naman still did not look up to him and Sejal insisted Sahil to join them in their dinner.

Naman's eyes we're burning with anger.

Not because, of Sahil.

But because Sejal had addressed him as a "friend" and not as her "husband"

Jealous much...

Sejal : so, how's life going?

Sahil : not bad but not good either.

What about you? Any marriage plans?

Sejal : well, uh... I haven't thought much about it ...

She slyly lied while side eyeing Naman who's expression screamed

"One more word about our marriage and I will sue this dumb man's ass"

Soon the waiter came asking for the order when Sejal passed on the menu card to Sahil to choose.

Naman felt like punching the wall badly but he could not so he remained clenching his fists.

After the order was served, they started having their food, when Sahil dropped a glass of water on his shirt.

Sejal stood up to clean it, but Naman caught hold of her hand and ordered her to sit down.

Sejal knew very well that Naman was being jealous so she started flirting with Sahil.

Soon after the grand dinner came to an end, Sahil bid them goodbye and went out.

Naman's Pov :

As soon as that stupid dumbass left I immediately grabbed Sejal's wrist and dragged her outside the restaurant and made her sit beside the driving seat.

I started the car driving at an intense speed, when she glared at me .

Sejal : Can you tell me why you always have to behave like this in front of my friends?

"I doubt whether he's simply your friend or not " I said speeding down the road.

Sejal : oh come on Mr Singhania, you shouldn't be jealous, he's not like what your bride was supposed to be.

"What? "

I said as I couldn't understand what she was trying to mumble.

Sejal : nothing, you shouldn't be bothered much.

"I'LL JUST SEE HOW MUCH AUDACITY YOU HAVE TO TALK TO YOUR HUSBAND LIKE THIS " I said coldly staring at her.

Sejal : Jealous much huh?

Naman : the audacity you have to call me a friend.

Sejal : so what huh? I didn't acquire of your relationship, so basically you are my FRIEND.

WE'RE NOTHING MORE THAN THAT ARE WE?

she asked while my brows furrowed in anger and I banged my hand angrily at the steering.

"next time, you dare to call me your friend, I will fvck the soul out of your body so badly, that you won't ever forget who I am to you"

I retorted back at her when she was taken aback by my sudden words.

"YOU'RE MY WIFE, and get that stuck in your head " I said.

♡♡

"We are not friends anymore "

I pointed at her before unlocking the door gesturing her to get off, since we had reached home.

I snapped when she looked shocked, and silently got off from the car, still staring at my face.

She's probably wondering,

How I became so bold.

I am bold and super possessive,it's just that I haven't shown that side of mine to her.

Now I'll show her, what this Naman can actually do.

I thought to myself before flipping my hair and picking up my coat from the car heading towards the door.
