I ran.
A dull ache formed in my legs but I pushed through, letting Dylan's words run through my mind. It was freeing. It felt like I was on Travis' motorcycle all over again. The lack of sleep was trying to slow me down, yelling at me to stop, turn around, apologize, and go to bed. But I kept going.
I was just going to be put on house arrest again. Or Dylan was going to push for me to be let go. Either way, I knew I had at least one more day of freedom beyond the four walls of the bland hotel and I wasn't going to crawl back with my tail between my legs just yet.
When I reached the wall, I paused only long enough to figure out where to climb and was quick to get back to action. Dirt and pebbles stuck to the bottom of my hands but I didn't stop, flinging my legs over the top of the wall and lowering myself to the other side.
My heart was thudding. I leaned forward and rested my hands on my knees, catching my breath. After a few seconds, I stood back up and pushed my hair out of my face.
I took my phone out of my pocket and pulled up the map I had on it. Exiting the alley, I turned the corner and started walking slowly as I examined the map, trying to figure out where I was and where I needed to be. All of a sudden, there was a presence looming over me.
"What are we looking at?"
I nearly threw my phone I jumped so much. I looked up at who I recognized as Jay, or at least that's what Travis said his name was, as he squinted down at my phone like this was a normal occurrence.
"Where the heck did you come from?"
Jay looked at me oddly before pointing to the corner of the alley. It was still fairly light out so I should have seen him when I exited, but I must have been too caught up in my phone to notice.
I stared at him for a few more seconds as he did the same before his eyes drifted to my phone.
"You're really tall," I spit out, never having stood next to him before and needing to crane my neck. It didn't help that he was muscular either. He was like a human tank.
"You're really tiny," he said without giving me a second glance.
I narrowed my eyes at him but focused back on my phone. I moved the map around until I got a general idea of the streets and which ones I needed to go down to get even close to Asherby. Once I got closer, then I could bring out my phone again. But looking down at the map every two seconds in a city like this just screamed 'mug me'.
I pressed the sleep button on my phone and walked forward down the road we were on.
Jay fell in step beside me. He kept a straight face on and didn't bother to say a word. He just continued like we were pals. What did he want?
"No offense or anything but can I help you?"
Jay sighed. So maybe talking was an annoyance for him. "Not really."
"Then what are you doing here?" I asked.
"I'm supposed to keep an eye on you," Jay answered.
I scrunched up my face for a second but then it quickly changed, distorting into surprise. "By who?"
Silence.
"Who told you to keep an eye on me?"
Nothing.
I wanted an answer to something today.
"I know you know. And I know you know I know," I said, leaning in closer to him to speak a bit softer about Travis. He admitted to sending Jay to help me last time. He was the only one I could think would send the human tank to watch me now.
He scoffed. "You don't know shit."
I smiled and crossed the street, turning left. Jay stayed by my side.
"I just think you would have some other important thing to do rather that babysit little ol' me," I said with an over exaggerated shrug.
"I do."
"What do you do normally?" I asked. "You could just do that and I'll stay here."
He narrowed his eyes at me. "I'm not dumb."
We continued walking in silence for a bit after that, Jay having no problem with the silence and while I had every problem with it. I think he knew where we were going because sometimes he would start to turn the corner before I would head that direction which in my book, meant we were headed in the right direction.
I took out my phone and glanced at it again, ignoring the protests from my legs and my body telling me to go to sleep.
"So who's Martinez?" I asked, putting my phone away after I had a few more directions in my head.
Jay raised an eyebrow at me. "Who?"
"Martinez." I said, slower this time so he could hear me without any mistake.
Jay shrugged and I couldn't tell if he was bluffing or not. "I don't fuckin know."
I pursed my lips and sighed. "How do you get in contact with him?"
If I found the Casey house, maybe I could figure out how Travis was hiding and still interacting with the gang. Or how he knew exactly where I was the other day when Sterling's gang jumped Josh and I. Or how in the world the guy was being so quiet when I didn't know he had a quiet bone in his entire body.
"Who?" Jay asked but the smirk on his face this time let me know he was messing with me now. I stayed silent, Jay smiling victorious as we walked another block.
"How do you get in contact?" I repeated again, breaking the quiet and his happiness with one word.
"Holy shit," Jay exclaimed, throwing his head back like he was yelling at the sky. "I'm going to kill you."
I rolled my eyes but was slightly disappointed when he continued to walk next to me instead of walking away out of frustration like I hoped.
"Then leave," I stressed. "I don't need a babysitter. I'm perfectly capable being by myself."
"Where are we going?" he asked, stopping for once.
I shrugged. "Just walking."
"Bullshit, just walking. Let me see your phone," Jay said and reached around me, trying to grab it out of my jacket pocket.
From both of us grabbing at it, it clattered to the ground. Jay had longer arms and was the first to snatch it up. He held my phone far out of my reach and pulled up my maps.
"Give my phone back! You just stole from me!"
Jay scoffed. "You got a bookmark on Asherby. You're not going there," he said darkly, looking back at me.
"Give it back to me," I said slowly, holding out my hand.
"Hell no," he said, walking away from me and taking out his own phone with mine in his other hand. I ran to catch up to him just as he was talking to someone on the line.
"Hey," Jay said to the other person, keeping his voice low. "Yeah. Her. She's good. Going home. That's that shit I said. Call me back," he hung up the phone and looked pointedly at me. "Told you."
My mouth hung open and my eyes were wide in frustration at him. "Told me what? All you did was steal my phone."
His phone started to ring again and I peeked at it, seeing a "T" display on the caller ID. Before I had a chance to even comprehend what I was doing, I was snatching the phone out of his hand and pressing the answer button.
"Hello?" I asked desperately, hoping it was Travis and that I could get him to call off Jay and let me be. That I could go on my way and find him, wherever he was before I had to face the wrath of Dylan.
"Who the fuck are you?" A man yelled on the other end.
"That's not how you greet someone," I shot back, taken aback because the voice was far from being Travis'.
"Oh, it's you again," the man grumbled.
"Who is this?" I asked.
"It's fucking Tom. Give Jay back his phone," he argued.
I was too angry at Tom's defense to say anything back. And Tom just annoyed me in general. So instead, I let out a loud groan and held out Jay's phone to him, as he waited next to me with his arms crossed and not looking pleased.
While he was talking with Tom, I attempted to walk the rest of the way that I knew. Only, I was missing the last bit of the directions. Jay was off the phone with Tom after a few seconds and fell into step next to me, his hands in his pockets.
"I have to go soon," he said.
"Okay," I snapped, seeing as he still hadn't given me my phone back. "Great."
When we got as far as I knew I waited at the corner of the street with my arms crossed looked around. Jay towered over me like a gloomy shadow.
"I'm not telling you which way."
"I didn't ask you," I said stubbornly and sat on the curb. It was a mix of houses and shops. It wasn't the best, most looked run down, some were boarded up but for the most part there didn't seem to be anyone roaming around.
"The sun's about to set," he added, looking around.
"Thank you, Jay." I knew he had helped me before and was probably just doing what Travis had asked, but I didn't have my phone and was around 36 hours short of sleep.
He kneeled down in front of me. "You should go home."
I know he meant back to the hotel but that didn't stop my head from reeling at the fact that I knew that wasn't my home. But I knew back where my dad lived wasn't home, either. I didn't really have a home right now, not really. His eyes softened and I'm not sure if I hid my confusion or not.
"Give me back my phone."
"No."
I shrugged. "Then I'm not moving until I see Ben, Finn, or anyone else." Maybe they could tell me who Martinez was.
Jay groaned and rubbed the bridge of his nose with his fingers. "I need to go. Just, don't move. Okay? I'll be right back after I handle something."
I looked at him like he was stupid. "I told you I wasn't moving."
He shook his head and stormed off, leaving me in silence. It was dumb but I wasn't as afraid of the area as I was when I was first here. And having a phone in this sort of place didn't really mean anything. So you saw someone sketchy and called the police? They could be dirty and just arrest you or not show up instead.
I pulled my knees in and rested my head on them, closing my eyes and letting my body relax for the first time in hours. My shoulders drooped and it was like the weight of today was slowly melting out of me. I didn't know how long I stayed like that, but the sound of the city waking up had me open my eyes back up. I knew I hadn't fallen asleep but the sun had set by now. The sounds of cars driving by in the far distance, yelling, and the occasional laugh started to fill the skies.
Standing up, I tugged my jacket closer to me and stretched out my legs. If people were out and about, I wasn't about to be a sitting duck no matter how stubborn I made it seem like I was to Jay. I didn't have a death wish.
I started walking down one of the roads, not sure if I was going in the right direction or not but figuring there was nothing else to do and I didn't want to just sit there like a child pouting.
After a few minutes, I heard a familiar voice. It was dark but I could make out Josh from the phone illuminating his face. He had the screen five inches from it as he peered into it like it was his life line. I contemplated whether or not I wanted to call attention to myself as I watched him, trying to work out if he was out here because of me or working.
"Josh!"
His head snapped in my direction and the relief was clear on his face, thanks to his LED light. He jogged over to me and wrapped his arms around my neck but I was quick to push away from him due to the pressure on my bruises.
"Are you crazy?"
I groaned. "I don't want a lecture right now, Josh," I said and started walking away from him.
He latched onto my arm, turning me towards him. "I don't care. You can't just take off. What are you even doing out here? You could get hurt. You could get killed!"
"According to Dylan, you need to get beat a few times anyway."
"That's what this is about? Trying to prove something to him?" he accused.
I had no idea where he got that. "I just wanted to get some air."
It started to rain, not hard but more than a sprinkle and the noise from it caused us to raise our voices slightly. Josh quickly pocketed his phone but made no attempt to run away.
"Well you left your partner, me, back there," he yelled.
I rolled my eyes. "The only thing you're upset with is the lack of leads if you're not around me, let's be honest with ourselves, Josh," I said.
"Are you kidding me? I've been competing with you for years! I would care if you got hurt over some dumb ass shit you decided to do," he said. I couldn't tell if his voice was louder now because of the rain or he was actually yelling.
"Well you found me. Good job. I'm not going back just to go on house arrest," I said at the same volume, starting to walk in search of the house again.
"So what? It's one day because you didn't listen to orders. Big fucking deal," Josh said, halting me again.
I narrowed my eyes at him but I doubted he could see. Â The rain was dying down a little bit, but by this point I knew I was yelling because of my frustration and not because of the sound. "Big deal? It starts as a day and then it's two, three, and before you know it, it's eighteen years and you don't know what life outside the hotel is like."
"What?"
Before I could respond, two hands made contact with my back and I was shoved into Josh from behind. He held me steady and I turned around, seeing two hooded figures.
"You get our message?" one of the figures said and the other laughed.
My stomach tightened and I was too worked up. Too tired. Too anxious and I just wanted to lie down and take a break from today. I wanted to dry off. The rain was dying out, just a mist over us now but it was an annoying mist which only added to my frustration.
"Yeah. Where is he?" the one who laughed asked.
"We don't want any trouble but we're not people you want to mess around with," Josh said, reaching for his wallet which I knew didn't have a badge in there but that wasn't going to stop him from trying to play the act. He did the same thing whenever he tried to get us to do things for him.
"You think we care if she's with Miller?" The first guy yelled confidently. "Maybe she should just give him up before we find a new kid."
Great, this again.
I didn't have the patience for the two guys in front of me, on top of everything else. They were the reason that my team thought someone was targeting the cops whether it be Casey's or Dacosta's and they were the reason that innocent fifteen year old was held up in the hospital room.
Without answering him, I stepped forward and punched the first one in the face. I continued punching, with him retailing and hitting me every now and then until he bent over and when he did, I kicked my knee up into his face. The guy fell down onto the ground.
Arms wrapped around my biceps and pulled me away of him.
"Stop it," I fought against Josh. "They're the reason! They put that kid in the hospital just for fun!"
The guy on the floor laughed and I noticed that the second one was limping towards us slowly like Josh had done something to him. I narrowed my eyes at the one on the floor who was chuckling at my words.
"Collateral damage," the guy on the floor spat.
I wiggled out of Josh's grasp and kept punching him again until he stopped laughing and passed out.
I breathed in and out, letting a calm wash over me as I watched the sprinkle of rain rinse his face and my hands.
"Damn cop, think you're so great. You're just like the rest of us. You're all pieces of shit," the second one said and swiped at Josh's arm with something he had in his hand.
Josh grabbed at his arm and pulled it away, his hand bloody. I don't know what happened but Josh took one look at his hand that was covered in his own blood and looked at me in a panic. He fell limp to the ground. I rushed over to make sure he was still breathing and pulled off his jacket to see his arm. He just had a cut, maybe from a blade or shard of glass.
What the heck, Josh?
How did you get this far being queasy over blood?
I looked at the second guy who had his eyes trained hungrily on me. "So you gonna tell me where he is now or am I gonna have to get it out of you?" he asked, limping towards me.
I groaned as I stood up, looking at Josh's body on the ground. Some partner.
"Oh mother-" the second guy exclaimed without warning, falling to the ground and clutching his leg in pain.
I didn't even touch him.
An SUV came barreling towards me and squealed to a stop between me and the second guy. Finn exited the passenger seat and as soon as the second guy saw who it was, he started crab walking away as best he could with his leg. His leg which was bloody, based off the red staining his pant leg thanks to the car headlights. When did that happen?
Finn walked with determined steps towards the guy, which scared him enough to attempt to stand up and high tail it as fast as he could, all things considered, away from where we were.
The rain started to pick up again and Finn groaned, looking up at the sky. However, as soon as his head turned towards me, he broke out in a large grin and walked over to me.
A heavy arm was slung around my shoulder as he looked at Josh and the guy on the ground. He didn't seem to care that he was getting wet.
"What'd you do to your boy?"
I scrunched up my face. "He's not my boy."
Finn laughed. "Whatever, you know what I mean."
The car engine shut off and I looked in the passenger seat door that Finn still had open to see Ben waiting patiently, looking out one of the windows in our direction. Were they waiting for Josh to wake up? Was I supposed to carry him or something?
Only, Ben was looking in a specific location even though it was dark out. And I looked at Finn and he was also looking at the same spot that Ben seemed to be looking at. I squinted my eyes, trying to see what they were looking at. Was I accidentally in the middle of some gang deal? Were we picking up Jay?
On the other side of the road, large office buildings were displayed. Nothing too grand and they were very old. But if I followed their eyes, I could make out a figure moving on the roof of one of the buildings, climbing over one of the ledges on the side and going down the fire escape ladder. The light from the moon illuminated him and closer he got, the more I could make out.
He was wearing all black and had a hood over his face. But even with the moonlight and me squinting as hard as I could, I couldn't make out his face. A couple seconds later, I saw it was because he had a black mask on. My heart started to beat faster.
When he was by the SUV, a gloved hand grabbed the bottom of the mask and pulled up, raising it above his nose but still covering the top part of his face.
"This thing smells like fucking wet dog," Travis said, shaking his head slightly and droplets of water flew off, blending in with the rain.
Finn laughed next to me and Travis was quick to look at him. Even though I could barely see his face with the mask and hood, I knew he was glaring at is friend.
Travis walked over to us, snaking a hand around my waist and pulling me away from Finn. His lips instantly found mine and I smiled as I kissed him back.
"What are you doing here?" Travis whispered against my lips.
I shrugged, not moving away. I wanted to stay this close to him for the rest of the night. I knew that wasn't possible though. My partner was probably still bleeding on the ground.
"Let's go," Travis said quietly, pulling away.
"I can't go back to the hotel right now."
He pulled the mask back down. "I didn't say hotel."
"Why?" Finn interrupted, "Are you in trouble? Little rule breaker, I'm telling the teacher on you," he tsked.
The two of them started to get into the car but I stayed out and stared at Josh.
Travis poked his head out of the back seat, "We're not taking him."
"Okay, well then I'm not leaving."
"Lacey, you were just assaulted," Travis argued, keeping his voice quiet. Still, I didn't know how he was doing it. "We're not leaving you alone."
"What are you going to do?" Finn asked, seeming genuinely curious. "Drag him to the hospital?"
"No..." I said. "But he's my partner and he's bleeding and it's going to look a lot worse for me if my boss finds out I abandoned him here."
Travis drummed his fingers on the edge of the car. "We can take him to the hospital."
"No."
"No?" he asked, sounding like he wasn't sure he heard correctly.
"If he's in the hospital, there's going to be a report and my boss will find out we were there and then they'll start asking questions on why we were attacked and who took us to the hospital. Just leave us here and bring me something to fix him up," I said, sitting down by Josh.
As much as I wanted to go with Travis in the car, I knew that I couldn't just leave Josh here. He was only out here to look for me after I ran off.
Travis, Finn, and Ben started talking amongst themselves and shortly after, Finn and Travis hopped out and were lugging Josh into the car. They weren't the exactly gentle with him but I wasn't about to argue. Finn sat in the front seat and I was in the back with Travis, while Josh was in the far back.
As soon as the door closed, Ben started the car and started speeding off.
"We'll fix him up and once he wakes up, get him out and somewhere else. How's that sound, little one?" Finn asked turning around and offering me a smile. He seemed much more accepting this time and I wasn't sure if it was just a today thing or not but I decided to just go with it.
"Thank you," I said and leaned into Travis' side, comfort finding my body instantly.
Travis linked one of his hands with mine and a gloved thumb rubbed the inside of my palm. I watched out of the front window as Ben drove the rest of the route to the Casey house, pulling up the driveway with ease. Random cars were parked along the front yard, nothing too flashy like what you saw in the Dacosta stomping grounds.
Finn and Travis grabbed Josh from the back and I ran forward to open the house door for them. Ben walked by after and offered me a small nod. It wasn't a glare so that was a step forward, right?
They took Josh upstairs, probably to one of the spare bedrooms with Ben following right behind them, on his phone. Travis only dropped his half of Josh, the head half, once.
I walked to the kitchen to wash my hands off and to get some water. My shoes squished with each step I took from the rain, so I took those off and tried to tiptoe on the floor to not cause any damage to it. A few others were here and I don't know if they knew who I was or thought I was some strange girl that wandered in looking like a sopping wet cat. Either way, they moved out of my way and made the path to the kitchen sink much easier.
I groaned, looking at my knuckles which were red. I ran some soap and water over them, trying to get them as clean as possible. While I was over the sink, I tried to get any excess water out of my hair to not drip any more than I already was.
"Do you know where the towels are?" I asked one of the guys lingering in the kitchen.
"Me?" he asked.
I nodded, "Please?"
There weren't many others around and I didn't want to make a mess of the house just because I didn't know where any towels were and this guy thought he was too cool to help me out. He ran off without a word. I groaned.
I searched the cupboards for a glass and got some water. After, I tried looking to see if they had any towels in here but before I could finish, the guy surprisingly came back with two large ones.
"Here," he said.
"Thank you!" I said excitedly.
I grabbed one and wrapped it around myself and put the other under my feet, dragging it along as I walked the way back to the stairs, trying to walk over the wet marks that I made on the hardwood the first time I came through. This time, I'm pretty sure people stayed out of my way to not get in the path of the giant towel I was trailing.
With much difficulty, I finally made my way up the stairs, cleaning as I went, and into the room designated as Travis'. Or, the room that was three years ago. I didn't know if it still was or not. I slowly opened the door and turned on the light. No one was in it but the bed had sheets on it and it looked like it was slept in fairly recently.
I went over to the dresser and tried to find clothes that resembled anything Travis had. The first drawer had a bunch of old thing from Alex. The second surprised me.
My purse was inside the second drawer, along with my old phone. I dug around, finding more of my old clothes from three years ago. Sure they were Travis' shirts but the pants at least were mine. I grabbed a shirt and a pair of leggings out of that. The rest of the drawers had Travis' things in them. Not sure if I was supposed to to see any of that, I kept it all as it was.
Closing the drawer quietly, and with a giant smile on my face, I changed into the dry clothes, turned off the light, and crawled into the bed. He didn't exactly say 'come over and sleep' but I was exhausted mentally and physically, cold, wet, and there was an empty bed here. Not only that but this room was just so quiet. After spending days in a hotel room with incredibly thin walls, this was like a godsend.
I curled up into the bed and wrapped the covers around me. Yeah, Travis had slept here recently. It didn't smell like old dust from not having been touched in years. It smelled like him. Like comfort and safety.
I was almost asleep when I heard the door open and shut. My eyes opened a sliver to see Travis digging through the dresser drawers for clothes. He quickly stripped out of his wet ones and even though it was dark and his back was to me, I felt like I was invading in on his privacy.
"I'm in here," I said quickly, trying to warn him as my eyes were glued to his muscles.
"Yeah, duh," he said, pulling boxers up before putting on some shorts. "Why do you think I kept the light off? I thought you were asleep. You should be asleep."
I rolled my eyes and moved over in the bed as he climbed under the covers. He didn't bother sticking to his side as he pulled me close to him.
"Why is it the only time I get to see you is when we're laying down?" I asked before yawning.
Travis grinned. "It's a good position to be in. I could think of a few more if you really need me to."
I smiled. "Where's Josh?"
He let out an over-exaggerated groan. "Because that's the first thing you want to hear after you hit on your girl."
My stomach did a stupid flutter.
"Your girl?" I asked. Things had always been weird with us. There was never a definite time by normal standards that you could say "that was a date." He asked me out only as part of a deal and we both kind of had an understanding in the months following that, that we both cared for each other. We never really called anything off though, unless you counted getting dropped off at a hospital and not talking for three years yet we never really openly talked about our feelings, either.
But the other night, it was like nothing had changed and there was no doubt in my mind. And today I felt like a schoolgirl dancing around the issue of 'well do you like-like me?' which was dumb.
"Yeah," Travis said, grabbing some of my hair in his fingers. It didn't twirl as easily since it was wet but he didn't seem to notice. "You'll always be my girl, everyone knows that."
I grinned. "Maybe that's the issue," I joked.
Travis shrugged. "I think it would be worse. They know if they hurt you, they're not making any friends. But now maybe they have you to worry about," Travis said and dropped my hair to grab one of my hands. He held my knuckles up to his face to get a closer look. They weren't that bad, just a little red. He probably couldn't see much.
I pulled my hand away from him. "Do you ever think you're just a pawn?"
Travis looked at me oddly.
"I got in a fight with one of my bosses. And I don't even understand why they have me on this case if they're not going to listen to my advice. He was trying to scare this little kid out out of his mind at the hospital."
"I heard about that," Travis said.
I bit my lip. "From Eli? I knew it."
Travis didn't say anything.
"I don't know if...I mean I've told them I knew information before and none of that got followed up on and today when I told them I knew what Sterling's house it was like they never knew that. But I told them. And if we're just bullying and preying on innocent people to join or give us what we want how does that make us any better than what we're trying to shut down?"
Travis remained quiet and I continued.
"And then he said an agent needed to get beat up a few times. What kind of...who says that? We're supposed to be a unit I thought, have each other's backs but how do you trust that?"
"Family in this line of business is hard to come by," he said.
I pursed my lips to the side, thinking because that didn't seem accurate. The Casey gang seemed like family and loyal to each other no matter what. Travis was parading around as a dead man and no one had ratted him out yet. I trusted people in here with my life countless times when I was here last time.
His finger moved to my lips and he straightened them out, making them relax against his finger. "Stop doing that."
It was delayed, but the warmth from his finger had me realize that this was one of the first times he was around me not covered head to toe in gear. I kissed the tip of his finger and he  slowly removed it from my lips. But I wanted contact. So just as that disappeared, I moved even closer to him, pressing my body against him and leaning slightly on top of his chest.
"You should sleep," Travis said.
I had more I wanted to talk to him about, more I wanted to ask him and I didn't know how long I would have with him before I had to leave again. So I tried to weigh my options in my head, thinking about all of the information I had gathered today and pairing it against the muscled chest I was laying on. Next time I saw him, he'd probably have a shirt, hoodie, gloves, mask, bike helmet, and parka on.
"Are you going to be here the morning?" I asked.
"You should really sleep, Lacey. Now's not the time for questions," he said, looking at me with his eyebrows drawn in. I don't think he knew what I meant but I couldn't blame him. I didn't want to ask questions right now either, I wanted to be save those until the morning if he was still going to be around.
I hooked one leg over him and sat up, straddling him. Before I chickened out, I let my hands roam over his bare abdomen, over the divots formed by the muscles that I'd been oggling only since forever. I trailed my fingers over his abs and up to his chest where I stopped and looked at him. He was staring at me almost in shock.
"Are you going to be here in the morning?" I repeated again, which seemed to snap him out of whatever he was thinking about. A lazy grin fell on his face and his hands rested on my thighs.
"'Course," he said as his eyes dropped to my lips. One of his hands wrapped around my waist and he sat up, flipping us around so he was on top. "I'll be wherever you want be to me."
I figured he wasn't thinking about what he was saying because I wanted him to be with me all the time but it was fine. At that point, I was too distracted by his lips moving slowly along my neck. It was giving me goosebumps and causing my heart to take out that battering ram again.
"You mentioned other positions," I suggested, trying to keep my voice as steady as I could because all my mind was doing was screaming more.
Travis laughed against my neck, just causing my heart and nerves to go haywire. "Yeah I might know some."
