âHurry, run! The bad guy is going to eat us up!â
As Trevor was tugging at Faye, Asher suddenly grabbed Faye and ran away.
He led his siblings and slipped into the crowd.
âMommy said we should stay away from this bad guy. Otherwise, heâll arrest us. Weâll never get to see Mommy again,â he thought to himself.
âMr. Gulliford, theyââ
âThey arenât my children,â Trevor replied grimly as he snapped out of his reverie.
Staring at the kidsâ backs, he pulled out his phone to call someone to escort the kids to a safe place.
âIâm sorry, Mr. Gulliford,â Natalie apologized. âThey really look like you, so Iââ
âArrange for someone to send them home.â
âGot it, Mr. Gulliford.â
In the break room, Jessica had barely regained her voice when she heard the servers talking outside.
âOh, dear. I never knew Mr. Gulliford has four children!â
âThatâs utter nonsense. They arenât Mr. Gullifordâs kids. What if Mr. Gulliford overhears you? Do you have a death wish?â
âThey are practically mini-versions of Mr. Gulliford! How could they not be his children?â
âThe kids and Mr. Gulliford made it clear that they arenât related. There are plenty of people who look like each other in this world who are not related to each other.â
In the break room, Jessica felt her heart skip a beat when she heard the contents of their conversation.
There could be many kids who resemble Trevor, but if four kids who resembled Trevor appeared together, they could only be her kids.
âIâll have to find them now,â she thought.
Jessica limped out of the break room and asked around, but no one knew where the kids went.
Trevor and Jessicaâs men were searching the twentieth floor, but the kids were nowhere to be seen. If the children were in a place with surveillance cameras, they wouldâve found the children by now.
There was only one place in Cerulean without any surveillance cameras.
Jessica increased her speed and limped toward the stairway.
When the kids saw Jessica pushing the door open, they scrambled over to her and greeted her obediently.
âWhy are you here?â Jessica asked gently.
She had no idea why the kids would come to Cerulean.
âAsher tracked your phoneâs location with his laptop. We miss you and decided to come to visit you,â
Faye responded obediently.
She was the youngest of the bunch and never lied. Thus, she ratted Asher out without thinking much.
Asher hung his head low and kicked at the ground anxiously. He was afraid that Jessica would punish him.
Deep down, he thought miserably, âI missed Mommy too much, soâ¦â
âAsher, no more next time. Stay at home instead of wandering about. Do you understand?â
âMommy, Iâm sorry. I wonât do it again,â Asher promised.
âGood. Iâll send you back home now. Oh, remember to keep our relationship a secret. Donât let anyone find out that Iâm your mommy,â Jessica reminded them.
The kids bobbed their heads.
Despite not knowing why she asked them to do so, they would definitely listen to her words.
They were on the twentieth floor, so it was impossible for them to climb down the stairs. Jessica led them to the eighteenth floor carefully before taking the elevator to the first floor.
Monica received Jessicaâs call a while ago and was already waiting at Ceruleanâs entrance.
Jessica could finally heave a sigh of relief after the kids left with Monica.
She whipped her head around and promptly bumped into a chest.
The familiar scent made her heart skip a beat. Lifting her head, she saw Trevorâs handsome face mere inches away from her.
His brows knitted together as he stared at her with his deep, dark eyes.
âDo you know the children?â he inquired icily.
