The waiter came and packed their used plates," Do you want anything to go?, like maybe the Singapore noodles for you and Chelsea" He  offers.
" That will be great" She agreed, " If it will be a bother and  will stress you, please let me pay for it" She added.
" No, it's no stress. Just take this as a gift" He said with a grin, " Next time we can split the bill like you wanted, but just because you asked and insisted. Otherwise I wouldn't agree, because it will be ungentlemanly of me" He agreed reluctantly, and went to order the takeout. He came back with two takeout bags.
" Thanks" She appreciated the gesture,  " Don't worry I don't see you as less of a gentleman, if you allow me pay for our meal, after all I asked to"She added with a smile .
" You are welcome" He accepted her gratitude, " I should be the one telling you thank you" He replied.
" Why?" She asked.
" Well you made my day and I enjoyed the time we spent together today and will be happy to, if and when I am given another chance or opportunity again, say next Saturday?" He asked trickily, in form of a trick question, inorder for him to know what she thinks and would say about another date with him.
" Is that a trick question?" She asked backed getting the hit of what he was asking.
" Okay you got me" He said raising his hands up in surrender, " So will you go out with me , next week saturday, let me say for launch?" He asked.
" Can  I take a rain check. I will check my calander and get back to you " Kevwe replied, smiling at him.
" Okay, that's better than a No, like last time" He muttered.
" Come on , wouldn't you let me live that down. You just took me unaware" She confessed, " I wasn't prepared for someone I am just meeting to ask me out instantly, it isn't done" She added.
" I will just keep milking it for the now?" He asked told her.
" It will get old soon" She told him.
" Till then" He said to her, "But, how come it hasn't happened to you before?" He asked, " Have you seen you?" He added dumbfounded.
" Come on stop it  before you give me or I get a big head" She told him, covering her smile with her hands.
" It's just the honest truth" He told her, "So take the compliment" He advised
" I will, so thank you" She said to him.
" I will hold you to it, although you have already promised me a second date, so I will be calling on that card with my name on it soon" He remaindered her.
" When did I promise you that?" She asked, already forgetting her indirect promise, made on knowingly, but Lucas was a very sharp guy. Nothing goes unnoticed around him, especially concerning a woman he is growing to like, even love as the day goes by.
" When we were dragging who will foot our bill at the restaurant, remember?" He asked gouging her memory.
" Or my God, I said something like that, but it wasn't definitely" She argued.
" A word spoken can't be taken back. It has already been said" He said in a sing song manner.
" Well I put my foot in my mouth, again. But next time I will be careful with my words, because nothing gets pass your notice" She told him with a smile.
" Don't do that on my behalf. I like the way you were so carefree with me today. Not like our other meetings" He told.
" How was I?" She asked surprise.
" Caggy, Defensive and guided, as if you don't want anyone coming close and anyone can hurt you at anytime, especially my Gender. I haven't even talked about love and you have  already rejected me and reacted as if I offended you. I'm sorry to say",He apologized, " Like  someone has  hurt you before" He explained.
" Was that how I looked?"She asked.
" Yes, but just from my own point of view" He told, " I hope no one has hurt you before?" He asked.
" That's personal and a story I alone can say on my own , when I am ready and if I am willing. And it is a story for another day"She told him.
"Sorry, for my forwardness" He apologized,.
" No problem. You don't have to apologize. That's a question anyone can ask if they observed something like that. I just reacted and said that because some pains are personal and best shared when someone is ready and with someone you choose to share it with. Sometimes you might share your pain with someone who doesn't care or someone who might use it against you. Hope you understand?" She asked.
" Yes, I do. And if and when you want to share it I'm always available and ready to give you a listening ear. I wouldn't take your pains or feelings for granted or share it with others. You can trust me on that. I hope you do, but I know and understand that trust is something that you have to earn and it grows with time and I'm willing to earn your trust. I will try my best by any means necessary and legal to take your pain away, if I possibly can" He informs and assured her, " You don't have to be guided, defensive or wear your invincible bullet proof around me, because baby you are safe with me. I am your shield and Armor , with Christ as my Captain and I'm here to stay" He told her sincerely.
" I believe and I pray you do earn it soon, Thank you" She told him, " And hope too that you are really here to stay" She murmured sorrowfully.
" Yes, I am here to stay" He told placing his hands on hers,"Thank you too" He replied
