CHAPTER 36
After Kevwe served them the food she prepared, which was yam portage. They ate at their dinning area and went back to continue the series they were watching. After about half an hour, Chelsea turns to check if Dennis was asleep, because she have not heard any sound from him about thirty minutes now. And another thing is that, from what she heard, they say guys don't usually like K-dramas, although she knew of a few who do. She also heard and have observed that most guys prefer football. There is another one she heard, that they get board by all these things, meaning watching romantic movies. Some guys say it is too cheesey for their liking, not that she is being stereotypical or something. But Dennis has not yet proven those statements wrong, although she hasn't heard him complain yet and he was awake through out their movie at the Cinema for their first outing. And for a while he hasn't said anything and she can see Kevwe' s attention was entrance and glued to the series they were watching. They have gotten to episode 4 already. She loves watching any kind of film, be it movie, shows, series etc, with her bestie. She turned towards Dennis, after being entranced in the movie and found him watching her.
" Why are you starring at me?,Are you not suppose to be watching the series?, Which is literally on Tv" She said to him in shock as their eyes instantly met, as she turned around because he was sitting at the sofa opposite her.
Since she was too shy , she sat on a single sofa, immediately she saw Dennis sit on the double chair and allowed Kevwe to sit on the other single chair. Kevwe did so because she believes in the girl code. But what Chelsea does not know is that as Dennis saw Kevwe sit on the other single chair, he got gist and smiled. He understood their sitting position without being told and Chelsea looked at him funnily.
" Me!?, When did you see me ?" Dennis ask her trying to deny it.
" Well, just now, or have you been starring at me since?" She asked surprised at his denial.
" Well, to answer your question you were starring at me too, if not you wouldn't have seen me or said I was starring at you " He argued.
" But......" Chelsea tried to argued back.
" But what" Dennis asked her with a smirk on his face, seeing that he got her where he wanted, too shocked at his audacity to have a come back and at his assessment of her own actions, that she thought was unknown to him. Not knowing he was observing her too as she stole glances at him too, when she thought he wasn't looking and that he was too invested in the series," What?" He asked playfully, seeing as she was still short of words and was unable to deny his accusation.
" I never!" She exclaimed touching her chest surprised at his courage to question her back and finally got her bearing back and was able to answer him back.
" You are too serious for your own good and for my liking" He told her with all finality.
" I don't care about what you like or not " She murmured.
" Keep lying to yourself, because I know you do, if not you wouldn't be arguing with me , while the series we are watching is still going on. The series is interesting, but I will tell you the expression you make; while you think no one is watching, is so cute and I'm so in love with them, you and everything about you " He said to her and stood up from his chair and sat at the hand of the chair she was sitting on and touched her on her cheek.
" You rascal!" She shouted , surprised at his touch and pushed his hand away. Being entranced already by his movement towards her and didn't notice when he raised his hands to touch her cheek.
" But I am your rascal, I will be anything you want me to be" He told her absent mindedly,as he looked into her eyes and was so entranced. Mean while Kevwe was so focused on the series, that she didn't notice that Dennis has moved to Chelsea's chair. Chelsea was in shock and at the same time could not move, because she has never allowed anyone take such liberty with her and to also breach or cross personal boundaries like this before.
" Chelsea did you see what the main female lead did?" Kevwe asked turning to Chelsea, at the particular magical moment between Chelsea and Dennis, as their left hands where interlink or intertwined and Dennis hands which he has placed on her cheek again, was moving gradually to her hair fondly,without an ulterior motive or sexual intention but with fond feelings.
Dennis hands hang in mid air and he fell off the chair in a hurry to go back to his chair as he heard Kevwe's voice. He turned towards Kevwe's voice from the floor, at the same time Chelsea did, as if they forgot that Kevwe was there with them and they weren't alone.
" Yes?" They both said in surprise.
" What are you both doing and why are you on the floor ?"Kevwe asked them.
" Nothing " Dennis answered as he sat back on the arm of Chelsea's chair.
" You are encroaching on my personal space" Chelsea exclaimed as she came out of the trance or spell she fell in, that Dennis actions placed her and pushed him away, which made him almost fall again, " Sorry" She apologized, as she cut him from falling by holding him with her hands and shifted away from him, as she saw her hands where around his waist and withdrawe from his person as if she touched an iron.
" Sorry" She muttered again, " This is why I said I don't want to be alone with you" She murmured.
" We are not alone technically, Kevwe is here with us. And I should be the one apologizing " He to her.
" Someone should tell me what the hell is going on here?" Kevwe asked.
" Nothing " Chelsea answered.
" Yes, what she said" Dennis agreed with Chelsea. While trying to calm himself down from the fall, the impact of Chelsea's touch and being in close proximity of her person, some seconds ago. While moving back to his chair, pretending nothing happened.
" That's not what I saw" Kevwe said.
" I think it's getting late" Dennis said to them, trying to change the subject.
" Yes, that's true" Chelsea agreed with him, as she got the clue or cue of what he was doing, as he winked at her.
" Yeah, you are right" Kevwe agreed, as she realized what both of them were trying to do and knew she will get the truth from Chelsea later. Although she was disappointed at herself for being a bad chaperon.
" It's already getting dark and I'm sleepy and should start going home" Dennis told them, " I mean I should be going, so that you girls can rest for Sunday service tomorrow" He told them.
" That's right " Chelsea agreed," Not that we are driving you or something" Chelsea said on getting that he might get her wrong, " Right Kevwe?" She asked Kevwe for support.
" Yes, that's right " Kevwe agreed.
" I never thought otherwise" Dennis said to them., " No problem, I have overstayed my welcome already and I Know it" He added.
" That's not what we meant and it's not true. We enjoyed his company right?" Chelsea asked Kevwe.
" Yes we did" Kevwe replied," You were the highlight of the our day or should I say you made our day lively and thank you for that " She added.
" I was just joking with you. How can I think or say that about my beautiful and lovely baby" He said to Chelsea,laughing at their reaction, " You girls have tried, you even gave me food , what more can I ask for?" He asked," I know it wasn't easy for you two to allow a boy or guy into your home. It is not ethical, but I'm grateful and so happy you have given me this opportunity to enjoy your company and your series with you, even though I couldn't watch the full series. But I now know why my love, is so into K-dramas and for that I say thank you" He said to them.
" You are welcome" Kevwe and Chelsea said to him.
" We enjoyed our self too, right Chelsea? Kevwe asked her BFF.
" Yes, we did " Chelsea replied.
" I for one did" Kevwe agreed ," And for that we say thank you also" She added in gratitude on her and her best friend's behalf.
" Me too" Chelsea agreed.
" You girls are welcome too. So let me be on my way, it has been a pleasure spending my evening and time with you both and getting to know you two" He told them.
" Yes, we too" Chelsea replied.
" Chelsea, see our handsome friend off, would you?" Kevwe asked Chelsea.
" Okay " Chelsea answered, " Shall we?" Chelsea asked Dennis
" Yes, we shall" He replied, " Lead the way" He added as she went ahead of him, as they left the house.
