CHAPTER 15
" How was the delivery?" Lucy asked Chelsea, as she came back from the delivery.
" It was okay " Chelsea replied.
" Okay, as in ?" Lucy questioned Chelsea
" Just okay" Chelsea insisted.
" I mean would they still patronize us!" Lucy asked
" I don't know, I didn't ask" Chelsea informs her
" Why wouldn't you ask?, Did you even give them your Business card?" Lucy asked.
" No, I forgot. But I would next time, that's if there is a next time" Chelsea said
" As if they would be a next time, with that attitude" Lucy murmured.
" What did you just say to me?" Chelsea asked her.
" Nothing" Lucy said looking down quietly
" Get back to work" Chelsea angrily, " Don't worry, they haven't tasted the food when I was living, and when they do and they like it, they will leave a review. We just have to pray that it will be a good review" She added, seeing she was a little hash with Lucy with her order
" Okay, Madam" Lucy said playfully, with the awareness that Chelsea might have heard what she murmured and she also knew she was wrong to say that, but does not know how to apologize since she isn't sure Chels heard her, " Hope we are good?" she asked her boss
"Why?, Of course, Yes we are" Chelsea replied
" Okay, thanks" Lucy said with relief and went back to her post
On getting home, Chelsea picked up her phone and dialed the number Dennis used to call her before. The phone was ringing, when her best friend and roommate came back from work and let her making the call
" I'm home" Kevwe called out and there was no reply because Chelsea was so engrossed at staring at the screen of her phone, that she didn't hear her
" Boo" Kevwe shouted from behind her and out of shock Chelsea pressed the end call bottom.
" You frightened me", What was that for!?" Chelsea exclaimed.
" That was for ignoring me" Kevwe stated
" I wasn't ignoring you. I didn't just hear you" Chelsea told her.
" With the way I shouted, you didn't hear me. Wow, this person must be important, for my best friend not to hear me calling out to her" Kevwe said
" I'm sorry, I will listen better next time" Chelsea promised and apologized.
" Okay, apology accepted, but I hope you brought something for me, from the shop?" Kevwe asked.
" You know I will never forget to. The cupcake, fish pie and a can of Coca-Cola are in the fridge, just the way you like it. You just have to warm or microwave the cupcake and fish pie" Chelsea told her with a smile.
" You are such a life saver" Kevwe praised her," And I love you for that and more. Nothing you say will stop me for loving you"She told her BFF.
" Me too" Chelsea told her.
" So, who were you calling?" Kevwe asked.
" Someone" Chelsea replied
" Someone who?" Kevwe asked.
" A new friend or should I say potential friend" Chelsea replied.
" What!, Are you cheating on our friendship?" Kevwe asked pretending to be angry.
" No!, I will never" Chelsea said, not getting it that her friend was just joking
" Of course you will never do that, because we are BFF forever, right?" Kevwe asked.
" Yes" Chelsea agreed.
" I was just playing with you" Kevwe told her, " But you have a new friend or potential friend and I don't know the person. And from my view from behind you, I don't recognize that number and initial you saved the number with" Kevwe said, " So who is D?" She asked.
" Okay, Okay, He is someone I just met" Chelsea told her.
" Oh" Kevwe said, as the phone begins to ring with an incoming call from "D".
" And who calling me back, so a little privacy please" Chelsea told Kevwe.
" Wow, look at you needing privacy to talk to a boy. Hmm, Chelsea y" D" sitting on a tree, K-i-s-s-i-n-g" Kevwe want as she walks to the kitchen area from the sitting room to warm up the snacks, before preparing dinner with the food items she brought from the market, when coming back from her shop. She is the one preparing dinner, since Chelsea prepared breakfast, " Tell him/her, I said Hi" Kevwe said," I'm sure it's a , with the way you are blushing and averting your eyes" She added.
" Kevwe!" Chelsea exclaimed," Please move along" She told her BFF.
" Okay, I'm going. But I am watching you" Kevwe warned and walked out.
" Hi" Chelsea said, as she picked the call.
" Hello dear" Dennis answered.
" Don't start calling me dear" Chelsea said playfully with a laugh
" Okay, I hear you" Dennis told her as he laughed along, " I'm sorry I didn't pick up the first time you called , I was taking my bath" Him apologized and informed her.
" Too much information" She told him," But apology accepted anyway" She said.
" So what are you doing?" Dennis asked
" I'm just relaxing, since I just got back from work not quite long ago" Chelsea told him.
" Well done, how was business today?, Hope I didn't delay you much today?" He asked.
" Business was fine, and no you didn't delay me much and thanks for your comment on our page and also for the referral" She thanked him.
" Me?, How are you sure it was me?" Dennis asked.
" I know it was you and stop denying it" She said to him.
" Okay, you got me. It was me" He admitted, " But truth is that the snacks and food were really delicious" He told her.
" Thanks" She said to him.
" You are welcome" He replied.
" So, I wanted to continue our discussion from this morning" Chelsea said shyly.
" Did we discuss anything this morning?" Dennis asked playfully.
" Stop pulling my legs. Of course we were having a discussion this morning" Chelsea said with warning.
" Okay, sorry. I was just playing with you. So what do you want to say about our morning discussion" Dennis asked.
" Well you remember I told you I was going to think about what you said this morning." She said to him, " And I have thought about it and I have decided we can just be friends" She informs him.
" Okay, thanks" He said, " Friends as in?" He asked.
" Yes, Friends. You know what friends are?" She asked him.
" But I want to marry you" He told her.
" You just met me, we can not just get married. We have to get to know each other" She told him.
" But that's is what dating is about" He replied.
" No, dating from the onset is about getting to know each other. It is not the way people of this days see it" She said to him.
" Okay, I get you. So no touching, kissing or caressing and nothing sexual. That means no touchy feely" He said in agreement.
" Yes, now you are getting me" She agreed.
" So what would you, my friend be doing later this evening?" He asked.
" After taking my bath, after this call, I will eat, relax, read a little ebook on my phone, later I will watch a little K-drama, then before I sleep I will do calculation for sales today, pray and sleep" She told him.
" Wow, that is a lot. That means your evening is packed" He said, " Are sure you all of them this night?" He asked.
" I will try. But I'm going to do the important ones first and anyone I can't do today, I'm going to do them tomorrow" She replied.
" That's a good plan. I myself, since I have taken my bath, I will eat, play a little video game, glance through the internet and go through some of my social media page, and since I have an accountant and an assistant to go through my accounts and schedule and get back to me; I will then take my rest" He told her.
" Wow, look you feeling fly and talking so big. Don't worry, I will soon get my own personal assistant" She says playfully.
" Jealous much?" He asked back playfully.
" You....., you are so full of yourself. You this boy" She said.
" Me boy!, I'm a grown man young-lady. If you don't know, just look at me very carefully" He told her acting offended.
" Okay, sorry, grown man" She says playfully and started laughing.
" That's better" He said as he joins her in laughing.
" Okay, I have to go and freshen-up" She told him.
" Okay, but before you go; may I make a request?" He asked.
" What is your request?" She asked back.
" Nigerian people, answering question with question" He commented, " Anyway, I want to ask; if you will be free this Saturday?" Dennis asked.
" Well, like what you saw last weekend, I normally go to my mum's super market most Saturdays and Sundays to help her out in her super market, of she needs my help" She told him, " Why did you ask?" She asked him.
" Well, I was wondering if you and I can move on with getting to know each other by going on a date. We can get Ice-cream and watch a movie or something at the cinema or just go for window shopping" He suggested.
" Where may I ask ?" She asked.
" ShopRite, Chicken Republic or anywhere you want" He told her.
" Okay, I will get back to you on that" She said to him.
" Okay, thanks" He replied.
" You don't have to thank me, as long as we both enjoy each other's company" She said.
" It is good to know, that you are enjoying my company. I'm so excited and can't wait till Saturday" He told her happily.
" I have not agreed yet. I have to check my schedule first" She told him.
" I know. Goodnight and sweet dreams. I'm highly anticipating your call" He said to her.
" Goodnight and greet the twins for me" She told him.
" Okay I will, Bye" He said.
" Bye" She said as she ends the call.
