Chapter 4
she goes to the garden to check the preparation of the Haldi ceremony in the garden.
" Ye gulab ke phool hata dijiye" she instructed one of the staff who is appointed for the preparations of the Haldi ceremony.
"But suman mam told us to decorate with these roses," the woman replied with a professional smile.
"And I'm telling you to remove these yellow roses" she demands in an authoritative voice.
"Yeh Mera Ghar hai aur yahan Main Jo bolti hu wo hi hoga. Mere bete ki Haldi hai tumhare nahi" Suman speaks coming towards her.
Siya takes a deep breath, giving her a tight smile as she again speaks.
"Dadi gave me the responsibility of the preparation"Â she tries to be as polite as possible. If this topic was about her she would have been silent like a good daughter-in-law but this topic is about avyansh, her avy and she chose to speak for him.
"Are you giving me back answers?" Suman asks. Siya turns towards the worker ignoring her mother-in-law.
"Remove these yellow roses and if you want you can decorate with white or red roses" she suggests the workers.
"No, only yellow-coloured roses are going to be decorated here" Suman adamantly keeps her point.
"Sasu ji please mujhe Apna kaam karne dijiye" Siya requests, almost frustrated by her words.
"Don't you dare to disobey my words siya" Suman strictly warns her.
"Koi problem Hai bhabhi" Sunansh asks while munching the chips.
"Teri bhabhi ki zaban bahut chalne lagi hai" Suman huffs complaining to her younger son about Siya.
"Mind your tongue"Â a husky voice echoed in the surrounding.
They all looked behind, finding Avynash walking with his hands buried inside the pockets.
"Haa Haa meri sunta to Kon hai iss Ghar me" Suman started her drama making the three people sigh at her behaviour.
"What's the problem?" Avyansh asked Sunansh to which Sunansh shrugged his shoulders, not knowing anything.
Avyansh looked at Siya who was already looking at him. Siya opened her mouth to say something but before she could do Suman Butts in.
"I want to decorate the mandap with yellow flowers but your bhabhi is not letting me do so" Suman says more like taunts Siya.
Avyansh looked at Siya, his green eyes moistened seeing her care for him.
He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He looked at his mother with hate and somewhere hurt being hidden inside his eyes which was covered with the wall named hate.
"Let bhabhi do her work" avyansh says gazing right in the eyes of his mother.
"You really are something" sunansh scoffs at his mother walking away inside the mansion.
Suman grits her teeth and moves her steps away from the garden.
Avyansh was about to walk but Siya held his wrist making him halt his steps. She wanted to clear the air between them.
It's not like she didn't start the conversation she did, she tried multiple times but he always ignored her. And now she wants to break the walls between them. She knows there are some problems between her and reyansh but she doesn't want problems between them to affect the relationship she has with avynash.
She wanted to know the reason why her avy is hating her.
"Avy" she calls him out. He still didn't turn around and stand back facing her.
"Don't you want to talk to your bhabhi" she whispers remembering how the little Avyansh used to call her.
Avyansh turns around gazing at her while blinking his eyes not wanting to cry in front of her, he doesn't want to look weak.
"Avy" she again calls him cupping his cheeks and now his will to stay strong in front of her breaks down making the tears flow down his cheeks.
Wiping his tears with her fingertips she ruffles his hair.
"You are still a crybaby avy" she chuckles seeing the big baby in front.
She experienced motherhood without being a mother due to avyansh. No one can take the place of avyansh in her heart. He was her first baby. Maybe she didn't give birth to him but the love they both shared couldn't be fathomed.
"I missed you bhabhi , I really missed you" he again breaks into tears hugging her.
For the world he is Arrogant billionaire who doesn't respect anyone but only she knows how soft this boy is. He is like a coconut, hard from outside but soft from inside.
"Don't cry Mere bache" she again wipes his tears breaking the hug. His moist green eyes always made her heart clench.
"But I hate you" he takes a step back and back again until he disappears in the midst of the green trees and plants.
Siya stood there processing the words he just spoke. Her heart broke when she heard those words. She loved him like a mother and hearing your child say 'hate you'Â breaks her heart.
'What did I do Avy ? Why do you and your brother hate me"
She wipes her tears and concentrates on the preparations. The Haldi ceremony is going to start in the evening so she still has plenty of time.
Avyansh is allergic to the fragrance of yellow coloured roses and to the irony his own biological mother has no idea about this while the woman whom he worships as mother, knows about this.
Checking all the other things she heads inside the mansion wanting to rest. No relatives or other people are invited to the wedding. That's the reason why the bhanushali mansion looks dull.
They wanted to keep the wedding private as it's not safe to reveal the ladies and put their life in danger. Being rich comes with its own thorns, you don't know whether you will be alive tomorrow or not.
She walks inside the walking closet attached to their room wanting to select the saree to wear in the evening. Racking her hands through the closet which was filled with many designers saree, bags, footwear and what not. Finally she chose a pastel yellow coloured saree with matching bangles and footwear.
She is comfortable in wearing saree as she got used to it before marriage. Her job made her love saree but the problem is the saree she used to wear was simple and light in weight and the saree she gets to wear is not very comfortable for her. But as the daughter-in-law of bhanushali ,Gayatri strictly warned her to dress up like one.
With a heavy heart Siya draped the saree around herself. She wore a few bangles and a nuptial chain along with a diamond necklace Vikram gifted her on her first rasoi and a pinch of sindoor with her favourite anklet. She liked wearing them.
She looked at herself in the mirror observing herself from head to toe and only thought that came to her mind was
'Aam ka ped lag rahi hu'
Siya comes out of the closet and her gaze stops at the clock hanging on the wall.
5:06
The Haldi ceremony is going to start at six in the evening. Only the family members of both the bride and groom are going to be present.
She takes a few turns descending the stairs as she walks towards the garden. Taking a few deep breaths she sips the water sitting on the chair.
'Why this mansion is so big. Ek din chalte chalte hi maar jau mai'
The bhanushali mansion consists of one main building in the centre of the acres of land. You need a few minutes to reach the main door of the mansion from the gate.
One servant quarters for the workers and bodyguards And a guest house for the guests which are beside each other with a wall separating them between. They also have a swimming pool at the corner of the garden which is filled with many different types of trees and plants.
Coming back to the point, Siya looked at the decoration in awe. The staff did a really good job.
"Haye!! Nazar na lage meri bhabhi ko" Sunansh looks at her in pure adoration. She smiles thanking him.
"Tum bhi Kam nahi lagre. Sania to pighal jayegi dekh ke '' Siya winks at him making him blush. He was wearing a simple yellow kurta. Though the kurta was simple, it didn't hide the elegant and expensive vibe around it.
"Aap bhi na bhabhi!!" He hides his face in her saree pallu and Siya giggles looking at the cute boy infront of her.
"Waise bhai kahan hai" he asks, composing himself from the shying mess. Siya shrugs her shoulders not knowing where her husband is.
"Bahu, Reyansh ko call Karo and usse jaldi Aane ko bolo" she finds Vikram walking towards them.
"Ji dadaji" she says and walks from there.
Now the main problem is how can she call her husband when there is no relation between them, how can she call her husband when he doesn't share a glance towards her. How can she call her husband when she doesn't have his number?
"Naina" she smiles and runs towards the girl who was walking while scrolling through her phone and the sudden voice startled her, making her flinch.
"Bhabhi" Naina pats her hand on her chest claiming her racing heart.
"You scared me"Â she again whispers, fixing her glasses.
"I'm sorry Naina but I need your help" Siya pleads holding her hands.
"Boliye na bhabhi" Naina panics after hearing the words siya spoke.
"Aapke bhai ko call Karo and unhe Ghar aane ko bolo" Siya says giving Naina a tight smile pleading through her eyes.
"Haha nice joke. Don't do it again" Naina yanks her hands away while walking away but Siya grips her wrists stopping her.
"I like you bhabhi but I can't walk in the lion's den for you" Naina states, making the women in front of her sad.
"Okay, I will Dial the number and you do the talking part. 50-50 work" Naina suggests an idea looking at the sad face of her bhabhi.
"Haha nice joke. Please don't do it again" Siya imitated naina.
"Bhabhi, my husband is calling me, bye" with that naina dashed off leaving a dumbfounded Siya behind.
'Naina is married?'
Poor Siya, thinking about how her single sister-in-law is married, not knowing that Naina just gave her an excuse.
She was busy in her thoughts when her phone dingged, making her attention shift. Looking down she found a message from an unknown number. Clicking on it she looked through the message.
'99******69'
Someone sent her a number, looking around she found Avyansh holding his phone in one hand and the other was stuffed in the pocket. Typical Avyansh.
He pointed towards the phone with his eyes and Siya understood the assignment. The number Avyansh sent is of His elder brother, Reyansh.
Her heart raced in a quick speed while her fingers were lingering on the screen contemplating whether to call him or not. Finally, fighting with her inner thoughts she decided to call him.
Clicking on the call option she brought the phone near her ears while her heart was still beating at high speed. She is calling him after many years
Within a few seconds he picked up the call. Both stood silent, not breaking the silence. Siya walks towards the silent part of the garden.
"H..hello" she scolded herself for stuttering in front of him. She kept silent waiting for a reply but never got one so deciding to state her point she started the conversation.
"Where are you?" She questioned without her will. A part of her was very thankful for him about the morning incident but another part was still angry at him.
"I'm Reyansh" the response from the other side of the call made her roll her eyes.
"Thank you so much for your information. I thought I'm calling my husband"Â Siya forgot that the relationship between her and him is still tangled.
On the other hand, Reyansh was shocked when Siya called him. She didn't have his number but he had hers. He picked up the call without any further delay and waited for her to start. Hearing her voice he closed his eyes feeling the rush of memories hit back.
'She mistook me for someone else'
That's what he thought and uttered the nonsense but the response he was expecting was quite different.
Hearing the word 'husband' from her mouth made his heart feel a sense of satisfaction.
Soon she realised what she said "Dadaji called you. Come fast" and she cut the call without waiting for his reply.
He chuckled hearing her, observing her from the window he leaned onto it gazing at her
