Chapter 15

CH15

Fantasia Apocalypta

The sounds of a crowd pierce the wall of Furi’s house, waking the sleeping girl up.

Furi slowly opened her eyes, “What’s going on?’ She thought.

Yesterday they were chattering, but not to this degree. Today it felt like it was screaming, like peace was shattering.

Furi got up from the bed and went to change her clothes.

While changing, however. A word slipped from the murmurs from the chatter

“Warmonger!”

Furi hands stopped, her body froze.

‘What do they mean ‘Warmonger?’’

But more importantly

‘Are they calling me a warmonger?’

Knock

Furi turns towards her door, someone is knocking.

Knock Knock Knock

The knocking gets louder and louder. The knocker seems increasingly frustrated

Furi quickly finish changing. She slowly approaches the wooden door. The knocking has now turned to banging.

As she approaches many words can be heard.

“Warmonger!”

“Come out, Devil!”

“Enemy of Peace!”

What do these words mean, Furi wondered. Sweat drops, her hands tremble grabbing the handle.

Furi opened the door, only to be met with a crowd gathered at her house. Their face twisted with anger and hatred

The man in a fancy cloth stepped up from the crowd, he asked smiling.

“Miss”

“Y…Yes?” Furi replied

“Do you think the scourge is real?”

“Of course?” Furi answer, the crowd roared, displeased by her answer

“Why do you think it’s real?” The man asked, his voice as calm as the wind

“I’ve fight them before” Furi said

“Well, do you know how they move? What do they eat? Where do they live?”

Furi blinked “What? No”

“Then miss, you’re lying. You don’t know what you’re talking about” The man said smirking.

“What about the mana shield, what do they protect you from?” Furi replied

“That isn’t real Miss” The man said confidently, even giggling a little “You’re just delusional”

The man turned around and face the crowd, who now wield knives, swords, and hammers. “As you can see!” He shouted

If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“She hoped for war, not peace. She hoped that God bring destruction to this land, this paradise, as she thinks harmony is evil. Violence flows through her veins and war is her body”

“What! I never said that” Furi retorted “I’ve never hope for violence”

The man turned to face her, lean closer and said, “You said you fought right?” The man whispered with a smile “Seems pretty violent to me”

“So, tell me miss, what made you believe? Huh? Or more exact, WHO made you believe? Some uneducated warlord?” The man asked

Furi struggled to answer, and the silence was not welcomed by the man

“TELL ME!” the man screamed demanding an answer. “For all my life, I’ve never seen these ‘bugs’ you fantasize off”

“Have you?!” The man shouted to the crowd

“No!” The crowd shouted back.

He turned backed and said, “It’s quite convenient that you’re the only one who saw them, isn’t it?”

“You know what a violent person needs?” He said pointing at Furi “Some…consultation”

The crowd rushes past the man, breaking the door opened trying to capture Furi, who jumped back, flaring orange magic circles behind her.

“Stop right there!” Furi ordered, her back pressed against the stone wall. The crowd paused for a moment, then the man laughs and spoked again

“Can you see it now! People of Aquaria! This criminal only goal is to destroy and have blood stained on their hands!”

The crowd dashes forward once again. Furi left with no choice but to fire her magic.

BOOM! BOOM!

The once peaceful house, erupted in flames. Several people flew out of the home. Some with minor scratches, Some with burns, Some without a soul.

The shockwave launches people away, the boom heard far. The home being severely damaged starts to collapse.

Furi coughing from the smoke, looked up, seeing what she had done.

The home she was given, falling apart. The gaze of those around her, anger and hatred, a new one has been added

Fear.

Cries are heard, A woman losing her husband, A father losing his daughter. The flames that wanted to help, have now become the fire that burns.

Furi mind is filled with a new feeling, Guilt. A spine chilling one indeed. Her hand yearns to offer her hand to help those below, but she knew in the face of fear, these bloodied hands of guilt wouldn’t be answered.

A piece of burning timber falls in front of Furi, shattering her guilt trance. Thinking quickly, the best choice right now is to survive the mob.

But where? There’s no place for a criminal here.

But she remembered something.

‘The wrapper! It said to contact the bathhouse!’

With trembling hands, she reached into her pocket, fumbling for the crumpled wrapper. Meanwhile, the mob was shaken but not stopped, they regained their footing, their eyes now filled with burning anger

Weapons drawn.

Furi clutched the wrapper, her only thread of escape.

There was no more room for hesitation. Furi blasted the back wall, opening a hole to which she ran.

The mob was blinded by the explosion, opening their eyes to see that she was gone.

Many stood there, wondering what to do, should they help their fallen neighbors, family or pursuit the perpetrator

“Hey you all! Go and capture her!” The man ordered, his arm was blown off by the first boom.

The mob rushes out of the area. Going separate ways to pursue Furi.

Furi ran through the streets, the peaceful streets, now felt like hostile roads, every house, people can burst out and pinned her down. With every step, every thud. Her anxiety grew, looming over her.

“There she is!” A voice screamed out. The mob followed, they’re persistent as before.

Whoosh!

A rake flew across Furi, missing her by hair. It may not have hit, but her desperation grew, she shuffled faster.

Pouring all her strength into fleeting.

A child looked at the commotion, puzzled. They wondered about the reason for such acts.

The mob was now behind her, creeping closer. Their grasp for justice in this case is going to succeed

Suddenly, A heavy fog set in. Blurring everyone’s vision. Furi turned towards the bathhouse in time before she couldn’t see any more.

Furi is confused, but a helping hand is a helping hand, she won’t question it’s origin.

The mob’s sounds faded away, Furi rushed inside the bathhouse. She opened the door, panting from exhaustion.

“Hello miss! May you face the calm seas. How can I help you today?”

Furi pants, struggling to make out a word. Her sweat drops to the marbled pristine floor. She steadied her breath, and with a final whisper: “Justice… among men.”

“I understand, please follow me” The receptionist walked out of the reception desk, leading the way

At the Furi’s resident

“So, the warmonger truly went through with it” Alice said. Walking behind a tall, blonde man

“They’re all like this” A man shrug his shoulder “Ran when they’re found out, not holding their ground”

“Lord Robert! Please help us catch that criminal!” Another man said, clutching his unmoving daughter’s hand, his tears leaking.

“Please help us cast away that warmonger!” Another voice called out.

“This really is tragic, Master Robert” Alice said, “What do we do?”

Robert looked back at her, “I’ll give out my condolences, but this matter can be dealt later”

“Our plans must continue”
