Riya's shadow loomed larger, her manipulation becoming more subtle with each passing day. Her messages, cryptic and pointed, continued to appear on Arjun's phone at odd hours, causing him to second-guess every interaction he had with Sia. The carefully constructed doubts she sowed slowly started to take root, and Arjun couldn't shake the feeling that Sia was hiding something.

The texts were cleverly worded, always questioning Sia's motives, urging Arjun to look closer. "Is she really the person you think she is?" Riya would write. "It's funny how people change when they get what they want."

At first, Arjun dismissed them, but as time passed, the whispers of uncertainty in his mind grew louder. He found himself watching Sia more closely, scrutinizing her every action. His thoughts became clouded with anger and confusion, unsure of who to trust.

And the person he trusted most—his family—seemed to be standing by Sia, accepting her effortlessly into their lives. He felt himself growing colder toward her, even though his heart screamed for him to believe in her.

The Growing Tension

Sia, oblivious to the storm brewing within Arjun, continued to live her life with grace and determination. She had seamlessly integrated into his family, building genuine bonds with each of them.

She had quickly grown close to Arjun's grandparents, helping them with their medication, learning their daily routines, and making sure they were comfortable. It was as if she had always been a part of the family.

In the kitchen, she spent hours with Arjun's mother and aunt, laughing over shared recipes and learning new dishes. Sia's ability to connect with everyone around her—whether it was in the kitchen or in the garden—never failed to bring a smile to the faces of his relatives.

Even Arjun's father and uncle appreciated her presence, as she often joined them for yoga sessions, assisting with poses and making sure they were doing everything correctly. Her positive energy seemed to bring out the best in everyone, including Arjun's cousins, who looked forward to their time together.

But it was her bond with Aarav that caught Arjun's attention the most. The two had become inseparable in a way that left Arjun feeling strangely uneasy. Aarav and Sia laughed together like old friends, their inside jokes never failing to make each other smile. Aarav would often tease Sia, and she would playfully retaliate, her laughter ringing out like a melody in the house.

And yet, Arjun couldn't bring himself to shake the sense of jealousy that churned within him every time he saw them together. It wasn't just the close friendship that bothered him—it was the ease with which Sia fit into his world. He had never realized how much he had built his life around control, but now that Sia was slipping into every corner of it, he couldn't help but feel like he was losing her.

The Distance Grows

One evening, as Sia sat on the porch, laughing with Aarav and his cousins, Arjun stood by the door, watching from a distance. His eyes narrowed slightly as he watched Sia's carefree smile, her hair catching the light of the setting sun. The tension in his chest grew, but he didn't move.

A sharp bark broke his concentration. Candy, who had always been affectionate toward Arjun, now stood in the corner, glaring at him with an intense, almost accusatory look in his eyes. When Arjun took a step forward, Candy growled low in his throat and backed away, refusing to let Arjun come any closer.

Arjun frowned, trying to approach the dog, but Candy snapped at him, clearly avoiding him. The realisation hit him like a wave—Candy, the ever-loyal companion, no longer trusted him.

He stared at the dog for a long moment, anger and frustration building up inside him. Even Candy is turning against me, he thought bitterly.

The Hurt Sia Feels

Sia couldn't understand what was happening. Arjun had grown distant, his once warm presence now filled with coldness. She sensed his anger, but every attempt to reach out to him only seemed to push him further away.

The more she tried to show him she was trying to make things work, the more distant he became. It hurt her deeply to see how much he had changed, but she refused to let it show. She knew he was conflicted, torn between the past and the present. But what pained her more was that his suspicions were directed at her, the person who had only ever tried to be there for him.

One evening, when she found herself alone in the kitchen with his mother and aunt, she felt the weight of the tension in the house. She could see the concern in their eyes, though they never spoke of it directly. Sia knew they were aware of the rift between her and Arjun, and it only added to her sense of isolation.

"Don't worry, Sia," his aunt said gently, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Arjun will come around. He's just... he's just going through something."

Sia nodded, but deep down, she couldn't shake the feeling that this time, things might not be as simple as they once were.
