I watched on happily as Cesare entered the house with my best friend in the entire world.
She seemed alright, she was in a hideous outfit, but fine other than that.
Cesare carried her all the way up to her room and everyone in the house followed, of course Cesare excused himself to put some clothes on but we were all too overwhelmed at Evalina's return to notice his nakedness.
My father called for the doctor immediately even though Evalina assured us she was fine.
We forced her to lie down and fortunately she listened before she told us what had happened.
"Despite what they are and what they did, they were rather kind to me, so I will ask that no one seek justice."
She spoke the words to the room but looked straight at Cesare.
"Cara Mia, these people need to learn-"
"Amore Mio, I said no."
And just like that we all watched how a tiny little mate could put a future alpha in his place.
"I think Evalina needs some rest." I suggested as I began shooing people out of her room.
This made something, or rather someone, pop into my head.
All week Luca and I have been good, he had this annoying way of catching me in the hall and kissing me without question...of course my wolf loved it.
We didn't argue, and for once I actually put some thought into being with him...what life would be like with him.
As Cesare begrudgingly began exiting Evalina's room I stopped him, "Cesare, where is Luca?"
"He left."
"W-what?"
"After he found Evalina he took off, I'm guessing he'll be gone for a while...he asked me to fill in as Alpha for him." Cesare filled me in. "Any reason you're looking for him?"
"Oh...uh, just wanted to thank him for helping to bring my friend back." I lied as I fought back tears.
He smiled and nodded before deciding that he wanted to stay and lie down with Evalina.
I left the lovebirds and entered the first room that I could...my father office.
The room reminded me of my first moment here with Luca and the tears sprang forward as I bawled heavily.
He was gone.
He left without even saying bye.
A small knock sounded and I quickly cleaned my face before Vincent poked his head in.
He smiled at me and entered the room, "I've been looking for you...are you alright hermosa?"
I gave him a tiny smirk, "I'm fine, just emotional right now."
He hugged me but my arms didn't go around him, I was still reeling over Luca's abrupt leave.
"Of course you are, this whole week must've been hard for you." He sounded "I know I should wait but what better time...i wanted to ask you to come to Texas and visit me, at least come just to clear your head and get away from all of this for a while."
It took me a moment to fully comprehend all of this, his timing was kind of horrible, but also perfect.
"Um, can Evalina come?"
He smiled his dimple baring smile "of course."
"Sounds like a plan...i really could use some time away from here, there's definitely something I'd like to clear my head of."
"Well I know you still have school so I was think, maybe a summer trip." He suggested.
"That's not too far away." I pointed out.
He nodded, "so it's a date then?"
"Definitly, can't wait to see what you have to offer."
He chuckled and soon we left.
I took one last look at the office before fully exiting. If Luca was willing to leave without so much as a goodbye then I wouldn't waste my time worrying about him, especially when there's a guy who's willing to do just about anything to be with me, a guy my family and friends like, a normal guy.
My wolf whined, 'but not Luca.'
Definitely not Luca.

. . . EPILOGUE . . .
-two weeks later-
"The day we found you under that tree I told you that I wouldn't ever leave your side again, as my mate it should come as no surprise that I plan on spending the rest of my life with you, I love you Evalina...i know this is so sudden and not as romantic as it should be...but I can't go on knowing that you and I aren't fully one yet...marry me Cara Mia, allow me to be your husband."
I looked down at Cesare, he had brought me back to that same lookout spot he first brought me the evening of Thanksgiving. Now I was home for Christmas break.
Coming home was so strange, Mom introduced me to her boyfriend, he's human but knows about us...he's nice, and normal...just what mom needs.
Gianna was exiled from this pack as well as our old pack...turns out her partner in crime found his mate the night of Alpha Addams' party, needless to say he turned his back on Gianna for good.
"Cara Mia...your silence is making me nervous."
"Oh gosh, I thought I answered...of course I will marry you Amore Mio."
He leaned over to my seat and kissed me passionately before he plucked the ring from its velvet cushion and placed it on my finger.
"It was my grandmothers, given to her by my grandfather...they didn't have very much money when they started out but together they built two strong packs and their love for each other never wavered." He said gently as he pulled me into his lap. "I'm hoping this ring will be a symbol of our own strong relationship, one day I will buy you a flashier ring, but I wanted to present you with this ring first, as it's much more special to me."
I shook my head in protest, "I don't ever want another ring, this one is perfect."
We talked about wedding plans, I didn't want to get married before I finished school so we agreed that this would be my last year at school, of course the school will accept girls up until their 21, I just wanted to start my life with my mate.
Also I wanted to have one final "single" girls getaway with Chanel, even if we are both in relationships...okay, so she's only "talking" to Vincent, who as it turned out is NOT her mate like I assumed.
But here's to hoping that she finds Mr Right when we go to Texas in a few months.
As one chapter ends another one begins...and I can't wait to see what life has in store for us next.

Anyways as some of you know the sequel will be more about Luca and Chanel...and for those of you who hate the nickname, sorry for ya but it ISNT GOING ANYWHERE!
The sequel is called Run Away, Pussycat.
DeLaurentis...i do NOT watch pretty little liars, the name is a common Italian surname that I thought sounded good with the main characters first name so I picked it.
I am NOT 1DAF...(I honestly had to ask my little cousin what that even meant) anything that you may associate with their songs is purely coincidental, but "same shit, different day" got the most comments so I'm assuming they have a song with these lyrics...its just a saying guys...I've said it before but I'll reiterate, i don't listen to them, nothing against them personally, just not my kind of music. That goes the same for any 5SoS, Justin Bieber, "teen" music in general. (No offense if that's what you like...please don't hate me)
And you guys kill me with Caesar Salad lol...but I like it :)
