Chapter 82: 75- Final encounter

SPY ✔︎ DEREK HALEWords: 5497

HAZEL FELT HERSELF COMING BACK INTO CONSCIOUSNESS, HER LIMBS SLOWLY REGAINING MOVEMENT.

She had returned to her normal form, thankful the paralysis hadn't lasted long. Sensing her brother nearby, she sped through the halls and found herself in the library.

"Scott." Hazel called, rushing over. She saw him sitting on the steps, his eyes bloodied and ripped out, leaving him unable to see. "He's not healing."

Malia knelt beside him, her voice soft but urgent. "Scott, what happened to your eyes?"

"I had to." Scott replied, his voice strained. "I'm sorry."

"Scott, you have to heal." Derek said, concern lacing his tone. "If your eyes stay like this much longer, the damage will be permanent."

Scott closed his eyelids tightly, clearly struggling to focus.

"Come on, Scott. Concentrate." Stiles urged, desperation in his voice.

"I'm trying." Scott muttered. "It's not working. I can't focus."

Malia grabbed his jaw, forcing him to face her. "Yes, you can!" She said firmly, trying to bring him back.

"Just concentrate!" Malia urged again.

"I can't." Scott sobbed quietly. "I can't do it."

"Yes, you can. Scott, please, just look at me," Malia insisted, her voice cracking with emotion.

Hazel, observing the interaction, quirked a brow. "Is he looking at you?" She asked dryly, glancing between Scott and Malia.

Everyone turned to her, Stiles barely containing a chuckle, and even Derek gave a small smirk. Malia rolled her eyes, determined to get through to Scott.

Across the room, Lydia and Stiles exchanged a knowing glance, their fingers intertwining. Lydia looked over at Malia and didn't hesitate. "Malia." She said. "Kiss him."

Malia blinked in surprise. "What?"

"Kiss him." Lydia repeated with certainty.

Malia turned back to Scott, leaning in. She kissed him softly, letting it linger for a few seconds before pulling away.

Suddenly, as if by magic, Scott's eyes healed, and he blinked, finally able to see again. The relief in the room was palpable as everyone exhaled in unison. Scott and Malia locked eyes, and without another word, they kissed again, this time more deeply.

Hazel smirked, a slight scoff escaping her lips. "I was beginning to think I'd have to come and rescue you too." Derek said.

She turned to Derek, who was already watching her with a grin. He stepped closer, cupping her cheek with one hand while the other rested on her waist. Without a word, he pulled her into a deep kiss, sealing the moment between them.

The pack pulled up in their cars, headlights cutting through the darkness as they parked near Scott and the young werewolf, Alec, standing under the dim light of the full moon. One by one, they stepped out of their cars, gathering together but hanging back to watch Scott's interaction with the anxious teenager.

Derek and Hazel were the first to exit, followed by the rest of the pack, standing united side by side. Scott smiled as he caught Malia's eye, sharing a silent understanding between them.

"Are they all... different?" Alec asked, his voice still unsure.

Scott nodded. "Some of them are." He glanced over at Hazel, who grinned, lifting her head slightly, her hands casually tucked into her back pockets. "Some can do things you wouldn't believe." Scott continued, "And others, well, they might only be human..." He looked to Stiles, who gave a playful smirk and a wink, "...but they make up for it by being really smart or really good in a fight."

Alec, still wary, asked the question lingering on his mind. "Who are they?"

Scott's gaze shifted to Derek and Hazel, whose shared glance lit up the moment with unspoken warmth. Scott turned back to Alec, his voice soft but resolute. "My friends," He said. "My pack." He said, his words a quiet promise. "And you can be with us if you want. But you're going to have to fight."

"Against Monroe?" Alec asked, his fear evident.

"And everyone that follows her." Scott confirmed.

Alec's voice trembled. "She said she'd find me. That she'd hunt me down and kill me. She didn't care how old I was. She said I was a monster."

"You're not a monster." Scott reassured him, locking eyes with the boy. "You're a werewolf. Like me." Scott's eyes glowed red, the alpha's power surging through them. Alec stared in awe, momentarily lost in the sight. "You're not alone." Scott said, his voice strong and full of pride. Scott broke the silence with a nod to Liam, who gave him an encouraging smile and winked before looking at Alec, motioning for him to follow.

The boy hesitated for a moment before finally stepping forward, joining Scott as they began to walk.

Derek grinned as he exchanged a look with Hazel, who smiled back, a sense of peace settling over them. They moved forward together, joining Scott, with the rest of the pack following close behind. Alec walked alongside them, his fear slowly fading, replaced by a sense of belonging.

As they walked, Derek wrapped his arm around Hazel's shoulder, pulling her close. She leaned into him, her heart full as she looked around at her pack—her family.

And this was it. This was exactly how Hazel had wanted it to end.

Together.
