Chapter 44: 39- It's Hecatolite

SPY ✔︎ DEREK HALEWords: 9400

HAZEL WAS INFORMED THAT ISAAC WAS ABLE TO FIND OUT FROM HIS MEMORY WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO BOYD AND ERICA.

Hazel took a day off to train with David again. But lately she'd been thinking about her secret that she had not told anyone.

The secret between Derek and her and then about David plus his story with Peter. It was all complicated.

"Hey David. Did you actually have a family back then?" Hazel decided to ask.

The man seemed to raise a brow at that and grin. "Yeah... but uh... that was a long time ago. They're dead." Hazel felt bad but nodded.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be. They weren't anything better to exist on my own. I never talked about them and still don't." David reassured.

Hazel looked down whenever went back into thinking which David noticed. "What are you thinking about?" David sat next to her on the bench that was in the woods.

Hazel sighed and looked down. "I feel like I should tell them." She looked up to him.

"Why?"

"I can't keep the secret anymore David. It's been two years, and I don't want to lie to anyone that I care deeply for, for two damn years. They're gonna be so disappointed and mad at me but they need to finally know." Hazel said when David sat there in thoughts and sighed.

"I get it. And you're right. You know, I'm not stopping you. Except for the fact that I told you that nobody especially Peter shouldn't know. But I assure you, that if you feel like it, then do it." David said. "Just know, that if Peter ever finds out... it's not gonna be easy."

Hazel nodded. Now when was it going to be the day of revealing the truth?

Later that night, Everyone was at Derek's loft planning out an idea with paper maps on the table.

"Okay. You see this." Stiles placed another map on the table. "This is how they got in. It's a rooftop air conditioning vent. Leads down inside into the wall of the vault which is here." Stiles draw a circle around the vent written on the map with a Textmarker. "Okay? One of the robbers was lowered into his shaft. Now, that space is so small, into that wall, which is store, by the way. Then throughout the rest of the night, they siphoned the cash up to the Gus back on the roof through that one little shaft on the wall. Boom."

"Can we fit in there?" Scott asked him.

"Yes we can, but very, very barely. And they also patched, so we're gonna need a drill some kind. I'm the thinking maybe a diamond bit—"

"Look, forget the drill." Derek said.

"Sorry?"

"If I go in first, what much space do I have?" Derek said.

"What do you think you're gonna do, Derek?" Stiles and Derek bend up to face each other when Hazel from the opposite sighed. "You gonna punch the wall?"

Derek crossed his arms. "Yes, Stiles. I'm gonna punch through the wall."

"Okay, big guy. Let's see it. Let's see that fist." Stiles challenged when the brunette winced. Bad idea. "Big, old fist. Make it, come on." Without looking at Stiles, Derek lifted his fist up, knowing that Stiles had no idea but did it anyway since he was another type of blabbermouth.

Peter that sat by the staircase seemed to shift at that, probably thinking that it wasn't a good idea.

"Big, bad wolf. Yeah, look at that." He grabbed Derek's wrist and held up his hand in front of it. "Okay, see this? That's maybe three inches of room to gather enough force to punch through solid—" That's wren Derek simply punched Stiles arm with no force making his hand slam down the table.

Stiles picked up his hand in pain with his mouth that was wide open to keep himself from making any sound but that didn't stop him from making a few. "Agh! Agh!" He walked off while Hazel tried her best to hide her chuckle when Stiles sounded like a girl. "He could do it." He quickly added in regret.

"I'll get through the wall." Derek said while Stiles whimpered. "Who's following me down?" Derek looked past Hazel that noticed it and turned her head to see Peter that noticed it too.

"Don't look at me. I'm not up to fighting speed yet, and honestly, with Isaac out of connection, you're not looking at very good odds for yourself." Peter said.

"So I'm supposed to just let them die?" Derek questioned.

"One of them is already dead." Peter cleared out.

"We don't know that."

"Do I have to remind you what we're up against here? A pack of Alphas. All of them killers. And If that's not enough to scare your testicles back into your stomach, try to remember that two of them combine bodies to form one giant Alpha. I'm sure Erica and Boyd were sweet kids. They're gonna be missed." Peter said.

"Can someone kill him again, please?" Stiles said.

Peter looked over to them. "Derek, seriously? Not worth the risk."

"What about you?" Derek asked.

"Yeah—" Stiles began.

"Not you." Derek closed his eyes in annoyance.

"Scott." Stiles nodded.

"I don't know about Erica." Scott said. "But if Boyd's alive, we have to do something." Scott looked over to Peter that looked back at him. "We have to try."

Derek noticed Scott's expression. "But?"

"Where's the other girl?" Hazel was the one to say it as she looked at Derek that had his eyes already on hers. "The one locked in there with Boyd?"

Stiles was standing by the window with the full moon on sight, while Hazel and Peter sat there, doing nothing but thinking.

Stiles was the first one to speak up. "I can't take waiting around like this, you know? It's nerve-racking. My nerves are racked. They're severely racked."

Peter that was stretched out on the couch spoke up. "I could beat you unconscious and wake you when it's over." He suggested in sarcasm.

"You think Erica's really dead?" Stiles questioned.

"You think I really care?" Peter said.

Hazel shrugged. "I do have this feeling that she is."

"Like, why wouldn't they chain them up in some underground lair or something?" Stiles questioned. Peter closed his eyes, having enough from his voice. Hazel was starting to think that everyone around her was getting annoying. "They're an Alpha pack, right? So shouldn't they have a lair?"

"They're Werewolf's not bond villains." Hazel corrected to which Peter agreed.

"Wait a sec. Maybe they're living there. You know? Like, maybe the bank wall reminds them of their little wolf dens." Stiles said.

"Wolf dens?"

"Yeah, Wolfdens." Stiles turned around. "Where do you live?"

"In an underground network of caves hidden deep in the woods." Peter answered.

"Woah, really?" Hazel closed her eyes at that answer from Stiles.

"No, you idiot." Peter chuckled. "I have an apartment downtown."

"Okay, fine, but still, that just proves that there's something up with the dark. And why wait around for the full moon, huh? And kill them whenever they want to?" Stiles questioned.

"Maybe they think it's poetic." Peter said with his eyes still closed.

"They've already had three full moons to be public." Stiles said.

"And there you've only had one full hour to be so annoying..." Peter's eyes snapped open as he tilted his head down to their level.

"No, go ahead, finish what you see saying." Stiles said. "I'm annoying— what we're you gonna say there?"

Peter sat up when Hazel noticed that it was something else. "What are the walls made of." Peter asked Hazel that knitted her brows.

"What? Uh... I don't know, like, wood and brick or—" Stiles guessed.

"No, no, no, the vault, the vault." Peter was already on the table looking through the maps when Hazel stood right next to him and Stiles on the other side.

"Doesn't say anything. Where would it say the materials the type of stone?" Peter questioned.

"Oh, hang on." Stiles went for the bag and got the map. "Yeah, here, hang on. It's gotta be in there." He passed it to Peter that stretched it on the table.

They searched and kept looking for it when Stiles found it. "There it is." He pointed on the map.

"Hecatolite." Peter said.

"Is that awful? That sounds awful." Stiles said.

"Get them on the phone. Call them. Now!" Peter demanded as Stiles jumped and grabbed his phone.

"Okay, why?"

" 'Cause Boyd and that girl aren't gonna kill each other." Peter said. Hazel slowly looked at him along with Stiles. "They're gonna kill Derek and Scott."

Stiles quickly dialed Scott's number. Gladly, he answered in a second. "Stiles, now is not the best time."

"Scott! Scott! No, listen to me, okay? Look, you gotta get out of there. Look, the walls of the vault are made with a mineral called hecatolite." Stiles told him. "It scatters the moonlight."

"What does that mean?"

"Look, it keeps the moonlight out, okay? They haven't felt the full moon in months." Stiles said.

"Think of it like the gladiators in the Roman Colosseum. They used to starve the lions for three days, more out of control making them once vicious. Deucation has kept them from shifting finishing their tolerance to it." Peter said.

"Scott, they're gonna be stronger—"

"More savage, more bloodthirsty Scott, they're the lions. They're the starved lions and you and Derek just stepped into the Colosseum." Peter explained.

The line went dead for a bit. "Scott? Hey, Scott!"

Suddenly, yells and growls were heard as Hazel grew worried. "Scott? Scott, are you hearing this?" Stiles asked until the line went dead. "Scott!"

They looked at each other, not knowing what their next step was at that moment.

I needed a whole freaking hour to write all this. Or maybe two?
